The Lady Of Withered Hours

[ EDIT THIS ENTRY ]

She once believed in beating hearts,
In vows that warmed the night,
But centuries eroded hope
Like marble losing light.
Her name was carved in lovers mouths,
Then swallowed by their dust,
For time is cruel to promises
And sharper still than trust.
She walks where moonlight dares not cling,
Where shadows learn her face,
A queen of dusk, uncrowned, unseen,
In silence carved by grace.
Her veins no longer ache for love,
Nor mourn the lives she feeds,
For mercy bled out long ago
Through centuries of needs.
She trades her tears for velvet dark,
Her heart for colder art,
A cathedral built of midnight
Around a broken heart.
In alleys stitched with borrowed breath,
She drifts, a whispered sin,
Not living, no just lingering
Where endings dare begin.
Yet still the night remembers her,
Though she herself does not
A woman lost to endless years
And all she once forgot.
She lives where shadows hold her name,
And grief no longer burns,
A lady who outlived her soul
And never looks, nor turns.
