Stargate Infinity is an animated television series produced for children as a spin-off from the popular science fiction series Stargate SG-1 (a series based on the 1994 film Stargate). The cartoon was unpopular and was canceled after one season, before any of its major plots could be resolved. Co-produced by MGM and DiC Entertainment and directed by Will Meugniot, the show premiered in September 2002 as part of FOX's Saturday morning line-up and went off the air in June 2003.

The writers and producers of Stargate SG-1 and the main canon of the Stargate franchise were not involved with Infinity, and neither MGM[citation needed] (producers of the Stargate franchise), the production teams nor the fans of Stargate[who?] consider Infinity to be an official part of the Stargate universe. Due to its lack of popularity the show is almost completely unrecognized. According to SG-1 co-creator Brad Wright, the animated series should not be considered official Stargate canon. Commenting on it, he stated, "I don't have a problem with it. I'm just not involved."

Stargate Infinity is set 30 years after the Tau'ri ("Tau'ri" is the official name for people located on earth) used the Stargate and traveled to Abydos (Stargate the film). According to the show, by that time the Stargate had become public knowledge, and some aliens had become citizens of Earth (or of countries on Earth). A veteran member of the SGC, Major Gus Bonner leads a team of young recruits through the gate after being framed by an alien infiltrator of the hostile Tlak'kahn race. The team must travel from world to world until they find the evidence to clear their names while learning about the unique cultures in the galaxy, alongside learning about themselves in the process. This plot was never resolved.

The show often featured an educational comment or summary about the moral lessons learned during the course of an episode.
