Someone had posted something asking about mating and if anyone noticed differences due to their species type, which poised a similar, yet somewhat unrelated, question in my mind.

I personally have found certain inclinations within myself, that while I wouldn't relate them to any sort of "mating" in the sense that I took the original question's context to imply, I have often wondered are not due to my own personal "hungers" if you will.

I feel as though I have complete control over these inclinations, and have been honest within my relationships; I just don't believe in unnecessary deviousness (blah blah blah) but I am curious..

Has anyone else noticed any "oddities" from a more traditional approach to relationships based on their "hungers?"

Perhaps more of an inclination to polyamoury? Open relationships? Or even the opposite..a very strong, even possessive urge to keep someone to you because they feed those hungers etc etc

Curious to hear any responses.

I am going to respond to this as I understand it.

I guess what you are trying to say is, do I base all my relationships on what I desire?

Well to some extent, who doesn't?

But I don't allow that to define my relationship.

Perhaps I have been too vague in my attempt not to illicit types of guided responses.

What I rather meant to say is..

Do your hunger(s), should you experience them, lead you to the tendency to be more flirtacious (as a means of attracting would be "donors"), or perhaps more possessive over the "donors" you are in a relationship with? Have you had to search out special types of relationships in order to facilitate things? Perhaps there has been no alteration in your relationships from what others might consider the norm. Do you engage openly in multiple relationships because you find it easier to accomodate things? Are you happy with these arrangements if you do have them, and do they work for you?

While I do not presume I have covered all the possibilities with these questions, perhaps they better express the direction I had intended my original question to take. I hope the way I have stated it now is less confusing.

You do have the power to control such inclinations. However if they're normal and natural to your biology, then the suppression of them would be unnatural. Poly for one thing isn't unnatural. Over 98% of all earth species including humanity are not biologically geared toward monogamy. monogamy is a religiously imposed teaching and dogma, for one example. Dr. David Parash, wrote a book called: "The Myth of Monogamy" which shows how monogamy is a failing institution.

Agreed MasterMel...although one has to be careful of the base emotions and possessive qualities we mammals quantify and multiply upon such poly-relationships.

Desire and Hunger and very close bed-fellows.

Having been reared in Europe, I've seen a stark differences in the attitudes of sexualities and inclinations. Seems this country still has a long way to go in progression.

:) Don't you know? United States of America is the rat's maze of guinea pig Utopia...it's about as bass-ackwards as it can get compared to Europe when it comes to sexuality and the use of basic common sense..:P

I often find when I am my most hungry, that I will have been attracting "attention" if you will. When I notice the attention, I begin examining my behaviors, and I will often notice that I have been moving in flirtacious manners etc.

It's relatively simple to stop once I notice, but I do not always notice right away. It's not something I'm doing intentionally, and it's generally pretty harmless.

I guess I was just curious if anyone else had experienced the same or similar.

But I believe all these things are very normal indeed. Absolutely nothing abnormal at all. We're biologically geared that way.
