"Interview with a Vampire" the movies was a decent recount of the book. The book will give you a chance to get into the mindset of Louis.

"Queen of the Damned" the movie is nothing comparied to the the two books it represents "The Vampire Lestat" and "The Queen of the Damned". Two books crushed into one movie is never a good idea.

If Lastat is the reason you like the movies, read the books. "The Vampire Lestat" shows you his embrace and lets you look into the mind of not a monster, but a man dealing with his situation at hand.

I like seeing two sides of the same story, Louis thinks Lestat is a monster. Lestat thinks he's not doing anything he doesn't "have" to.

I have seen the pic 'Interview'and read the book,Both are good. I am in the middle of reading 'The Vampire Lestsat',So far its quite good,a bit slow to begin with.I agree about seeing it from both side,It does give you an insight in to both minds, Anne Rice is such a talented writer.

I personally enjoy the books and movies for seperate reasons.

In the books, you have an open space for your imagination to roam with the characters appearance and the settings feel, as well as anything else. Also, in the books there are many more details and understanding to grasp.

With the movies, everything is set out for you. All you need to do is watch and enjoy. Which is a convenience for those that find themselves unable to sit and complete a book.

All in all, both the movies and books are very good. I highly recommend you to read the books, though.

Personally, I liked the books much better then the movies. Interview With The Vampire was very well done as a movie, and I liked Queen of the Damned as a movie, but if you compare it to the books, it was butchered beyond belief.

Memnoch The Devil was by far my favorite from the Vampire Chronicles, and Tale of the Body Thief is probably second.

Of corse the books are better! The movies are great though. Interview was better than Queen of the Damned. Interview had the story more accurate, and Queen of the Damned totally changed it. But its still cool. And I've still watched it a billion times. I've read all the Chronicles .... actually I've almost read all Anne Rice. I think if you're really into Lestat you should read The Vampire Lestat , No shit. Its probably my second favorite.

Lestat is an amazing vampire in anne rice's books and especially the queen of the damned movie *stuart is hot* smilez:)

he is sensual and sexy...sleek and dark...mysterious and lurious, if u think about it, kind of relates to humans. the loneliness, the questions we ask ourselves and want the answers, the risks we take, and the darkness we have inside of us

i guess we are a little lestat deep inside each of us :)
