He is a real life vampire hunter and I am wondering has anybody ever read his book, "The Vampire Hunter's Handbook"?
I have not but I have added it to my need to read list...thx
~Lady~
If it is the book I'm thinking of....I haven't read it but have seen it. I honestly thought it was a joke !
When I'm in Atlanta this week I think I'll pick it up !
Ive heard of it, but its difficult to get any books with references to vamps witchcraft or the accult in my horribly babtist run neck of the woods.
I haven't read this book, but I've heard it has more to do with Pastor Manchester's dealing with his fellow hunters than actually being a concise guide for would be hunters.
Given that book and it's merry doppleganger, The Vampire Hunter's Handbook (Field Guides to the Paranormal), which I have read, I don't think anyone here has anything to worry about. You can all have a good day's rest. :)
i have no read it no, but it sounds interesting, ill have to try and find it.
If it is anything like the interview article i read about a guy in the UK (england, i think) that said he was a vampire hunter and talked about his exploits, i don't plan on reading it.
Artemesia, if that was the BBC interview with the vampire hunter, this is the same author.
I have not read it....but I have read other writings of his....and the more I read the more it screams QUACK!
okay I was gonna ask where I could pick it up but ummm...I don't like the word Quack
Daermon is it as bad as lyla Wendal's tripe soup with a side of toothpaste and ketchup?
'Cause I read through her book painfully and if it is anything akin I'll go back to flossing the thought of it all from my noodle....
yes but he said he has read other writings by him...
I'm mainly asking If Daermon thinks I would be turned off his writting style.
Some how Mordes .. even though I don't know you .. only yoru post ... ultimately from and outsiders point of veiw ...
YEPPRES .. some how I think you'd find it very interesting ..
ROFLMAO >;^} MUUWWAAHHHAA
OK, on topic, no I've not read the book, but I did read the interview he did, and I'd have to say, I think it would be an interesting read .. in a humorus way
frankly mordes...in my opinion his simgle minded fanaticism would send you into spazms of ranting
Please tell us more ....Mordes......I listen to that radio show when I'm driving home, late at nite on Sundays from shows......
Art Bell? Well you know, I had a laugh or two at ElderDan's comment above, and yes you can all sleep at night because Sean Manchester is UK based! I do hear he flies to the USA though! heh
I'm unwilling to register to coast to coast just to get that file but I found a recent transcript from the author as well as an email of him going *ahem* batty.....

to be honest we've seen nothing to show they're real...or that they ar'nt
it has feathers and quacks.....
sheesh 40 years and Seán Manchester and David Farrant are still bickering like school children.....
hmm not a real bishop.....

it's interesting that in all my hours of searching this seems to be the most consise and logical assesment of the highgate vampire..... wadeing through the fan boys of each prospective vampire hunter was a lesson in how much people are willing to kiss another human beings rectum.
Mordes! Thankyou for the link to that BBC interview with Sean Manchester. Super stuff..
Okay, all you Vampires out there, eat your heart out.. the following is an extract from the book on how you are all going to die!! *bytes*
Seán Manchester recommends:
“Impalation with a wooden stake through the heart, causing the organ which ingests blood to explode and thereby disrupt its function to invigorate the corporeal form, is the second most potent method of exorcism, next to cremation. The stake … must be driven through with one blow. … There is no stronger defence against the snares and onslaughts of this unspeakable evil that the Most Holy Sacrament, the Host, which should be handled by a person in holy orders where possible. The invocation of the Lord’s Most Holy Name disarms and crushes the devil. … The crucifix, properly blessed, is a means of protection against vampires. Holy relics, exposed with lights and all due ceremonies for veneration, are efficacious in the extreme. Holy water, too, can be employed as a protective measure.”
i have read parts of his book but i did not finish it because it lacke flare and vitality it was boring.
Yes Octavia *grins big* so was the picture/vid of a vampire being staked but it must be voodoo because it never worked! Heh
LMAO....this man is indeed...or at least..indeed he does believe he is a vampire hunter. He actually has a msn group called "The Cross and The Stake"....it's a bunch of load of bullshit. Besides...Vampires can't die with a cross and a stake. Damn ignorant people...*tsk tsk* when will they learn? ;) lol.
I read this book once before, but can't remember anything from it. Same with "The Satanic Bible" anyway... just wondering, on a related topid, has anyone read "Vampires The Occult Truth" - Konstantinos ?
I got this leaflet through the post the other day with adverts for the following books, if you've read any of them, can you point me in the right direction ?
Vampires The Occult Truth - Konstantinos
Vampires Werewolves and other monsters - Rosemary Ellen Cuilby
Dead Witch Walking - Kim Harrison
The good, the bad and the undead - Kim Harrison
Daughter of the blood - Anne Bishop
Ghosts and Spirits - Rosemary Ellen Cuilby
Are any of them worth getting ?
I am going to see if I can find it and read it. That way I can form my own opinion.
Emaerald chuckles... I think when I was posting this thread, I secretly yearned to know if there was one person online brave enough to come forward in front of nearly two and half thousand vampire souls and would write, "Yes I did enjoy that book and all the Pastor's teachings" *Emmy hides under a rock* teehee
hmmm...this is interesting...where can I find the book?
=)
It was a interesting read either though it was based on myths mostly. How ever it did have small bit on elizabeth bathory if I am right. To me it seemed to fictiional.
hmm well that goes to show you vamps are real and you people thought i stayed up all night cuz i am an insomeniac shame on you ROFL!!!
I think it would be interesting to just read about the things he has found and how he actually goes about finding vampires... I mean does he just walk around asking for people to bite him or something?
that soungs awesome man .....i will have to check it out sum time....
yeah...lol....so i mean it sounds really cool and i will check it out~!!!!~~
I have not read this books... but from the links and what not that I did read it sounds like this man wanted some extra cash or some cult following thing to go on and wrote a bunch of stuff...
I'll have to add him to my summer reading list however... I enjoy a good laugh or two every now and then!
that sounds totally cooolll i will so chech it out!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks ElderDan lol just wanted to make a comment about the book, but laughed too hard to think of anything to type better than you... The truth is.. if you are in tuned with your powers as a vamp.. you can see a different ora around the would be hunters... sometimes they dont even know they have the power to be one.
