how may of you here play chess and what is you opinion, is it better to plan out your moves or to just let the game flow and make your decisions as you go? I always just make my decisions as I go and its worked pretty good for me so far.
figure it out as i go...but..not because i think it's better..just because i'm impatient and never care all that much. i lose a lot.
i thought this was going to be like a what color is your undies question LOL. but well i also just go with the flow i just make up the moves as i go. maybe thats why i always loose :). i usually will think two steps ahead and thats it. can we talk about checkers chess requires to much thinking lol.
Damn it wtf is wrong w. this computer, it was only supposed to be one msg not two!
But seriously i hope ur kidding this is a ridiculous thread!
ive tried playing it, but didnt know what to do and i still dont, i kept tying, i played it on computer and a cell phone.
Actually, Pink, this thread isn't half bad. There's a lot not known about the game of Chess.
I tried to play it once upon a time but I truely feel that it's a game for gifted people. People who have long range of thought, patience and intellegence in battle type situations.
The board must almost be seen in a kind of 3-D manner to be played well.
The game also has a habit of driving its Kings insane.
Take Bobby Fischer, for example.
The man is absolutly nuts. Very "big brother is watching".
Cause of course EVERYONE knows the government can track you through the fillings in your teeth, ect.
He played an illegal game of chess (ill find the article or something on it and post it here) and became a wanted man here in the US. He was caught and jailed in Japan, which has an extradition treaty with the US.
Someone let him escape and he is now known to be in Iceland... where there IS NO treaty for extradition.
I sincerely recommend the movie 'Searching for Bobby Fischer'.
This is an excelent film, old, but fabulous to show the inner world of Chess Masters/Kings.
Im gonna go dig for that article.
Bobby Fischer Found....And Totally Insane
Anti-American, anti-semetic, pro-9/11, one-time world chess champ, all time freak show, Bobby Fischer has been arrested in Japan and could be deported to face charges in the US. He was indicted by a U.S. federal grand jury for violating United Nations sanctions against Yugoslavia by playing a match there in 1992. Since then he has been shuttling between Japan and the Philippines (can you say "Riding the Hooker Express Train"?) living off $3 million he won in the Yugoslavian tournament.
The mentally unstable 61 year old is quoted as saying:
""I think the U.S. is not going to exist much longer," Mr. Fischer said. "I think everybody is going to be surprised at just how soon the U.S. collapses and the U.S. becomes history.""
dude.. stop with the alphabet crap.. or I am going to poke you with a stick..
I love to play chess. I can plan out my moves 2-3 turns ahead. Nobody around here wants to play though. Nobody likes chess.
