Yes that is what they actually feed from.
ppl know that the Bible says, "the blood is the life", and anyone who was losing their life force must be losing blood. Yet, in many instances the vampire's "attack" does not even involve physical contact. In others, it is clearly sexual energy which is exchanged.

Energy, Life force, and sometimes what you call spirit that is what they feed of, since some people dies especially of weak spirit.. They said that your spirit is encrypted in your organs but it seems much more convincing if it is in your blood since they pass through every organ in your body...
