Recently I read an article online about vampirism and the link to rabis. It said that way back before modern day advancement that rabis was much more commen. the signs of having it were:
1. Sexual urges.
A. people with rabis would have sex up to thirty times a day.
2. sensitivity to light.
B. People with rabis strayed from bright light and hated to be in the sun.
3. emense unquenchable hunger.
C. once again, they had no way of feeding that hunger since rabis will starve you by closing the throat small enough to prevent food from going down it.
I seem to have forgotten the rest of the artile. I thought I would share this with you guys sense I am sure you might find it interesting as I did.
Enjoy.
I've read elsewhere a good article that debunks this connection pretty well. I would include it here, but apparently anything found online just isn't viable these days. :) I recommend googling it..answers.com may be of help as well.

And as for rabies, click here for a good article on it.
NOWHERE does it mention that ridiculous bit about someone infected with the rabies virus having sex upwarsd of 30 times a day.
The article covers symptoms, mode of infection, prevention, and cycle of the disease through death.
Nice additions..thanks for the information Reqiuem. Wikipedia is full of useful stuff. :)
ok i wasnt sure what this thread was about in terms of rabis...i though it was asking about a priest..but thats rabi lol
on the subject....rabies and vampyres? ummm lets not look for the gold straw in the hey to define why vampyres are the way they are
hm.. just because there might be some relations, do not make them the same.. If you look hard enough, you will find much greater things that seperate vampires from rabis
Wow. An interesting idea. But next time, do try to include your source, and give your subject title a bit of a spell check. It's hard to take a discussion of rabis seriously. Thank you for the useful links though.
Thank you for clearing that up Requiem. I thought I was about to read something about Jewish vampires.
hmmm. wow, they also believe that there is a blood disorder...i can't remember what it is, but when i find it again, i'll post it if u don't mind
