So it has been a while since I have been on and I have found that there are several question that are considered somewhat relateable do I figured this would be as good as a thread of any to start off with on this night.
What do I mean by Vampyric Gluttony?
Quite simple. Weither you are a Psy of Sang vampyre, in responce to this question. "What are possible side effects of ever feeding. In any form." More spacifically. Are the results good or bad to all parties? Does it happen intentionally, or by accident? Periods of time between large feedings? And simply anything else you might find relateable when you here the words Gluttony, Vampyre, and feeding.
I am apparently Sang, but I Psy feed daily. I just recently realized what I was doing. Well, I usually go to the library and I feed off strangers because I dont give a damn about who they are or how my feeding from them makes them feel, cause honestly when I dont I feel like crap and I want to sleep but I dont feel rested! Also, a now ex friend has pissed me off so, Im feeding off of him on a daily basis as revenge so Baby I dont care! I just do it cause it makes me feel better I feel hyper and energized so what do I care how others feel? They aint my friends!
SW... you likely have no idea how indirectly on target this topic is to the single-most key aspect of who and what the actual Vampire of History was and is. I won't elaborate quite yet regarding this... preferring instead to wait until the thread has run its course with the vast majority here who share the stereotypical view of what is "vampyric."
The mcangus is probably the best example of vampiric gluttony that I can think of.
The term "Vampire" is the Anglicized form of the original Slavic term: "Upir." This term was first recorded in 1047 CE and means, literally, "one who feasts" or "one who participates in feasting" (as first investigated by Dr. Jan Perkowski and then, later, more exactingly discovered by Dr. Bruce McClelland). Thus, the vampire is by definition a "feaster." However as Dr. McClelland and Dr. Paul Barber also discovered, this feasting could not have been for blood, much less for energy given that these characteristics don't appear until the beginning of the 18th Century and, almost exclusively, found only in fictional tales. Thus... the vampire had, by that time, been "feasting" for at least 700 years before with no mention of blood or energy once mentioned.
It appears far more likely, by both ancient and pre-18th Century accounts, that what the historical Vampire "feasts" on is... instead... sex. Or more accurately, multiple orgasms... such that last for days and nights on end. In support of this, newspaper accounts of vampires up to the 20th Century in Central and Eastern Europe report on those pretending to be vampires doing so by emulating what they knew the vampire to be: a superior sexual lover of females. Thus, imposters in those countries seduced women not by wearing fangs or trying to drink their blood but, instead, by claiming capable of making love as vampires in such lands were known to do. And in apparently failing, they revealed themselves imposters, were reported to police, and eventually captured... thus prompting the newspaper coverage ( e.g., http://www.visionaryliving.com/articles/vfiles.php ).
Thus... if this is the historical truth behind all the fictions that have followed, then "Vampyric Gluttony" takes on a far deeper and clearer significance.
For millennia, the term "feasting" has been used to also express extreme and extended sexual communion. Perhaps one of the more prevalent examples in this in history is, not surprisingly, the early Christian "Agape" Feast that was banned early in its history due to its highly orgiastic elements as originally practiced. In fact, the entire Book of Jude in the New Testament specifically targets this "feast" and condemns it for its highly sexual nature.
So where does "gluttony" fit into this? It should be fairly apparent.
Were we all to be suddenly transported to another planet where all its inhabitants require only a bite or two of food to satisfy hunger, imagine how our natural Human capacity and desire for many bites of many different kinds of food would appear to those of such tiny appetites. Would we not seem like shameless gluttons with an obvious food addiction?
And yet, there are those in this world for whom only a single full natural orgasm, or two, or even ten... does not satisfy but, instead, only whets the appetite and is, therefore, but the beginning of the "meal"... which for them is truly, a feast. And thus, to the vast majority of those in the world (especially men) who find only a single natural orgasm or two is sufficient, then such multiorgasmic "feasting" is indeed viewed as extreme gluttony, indeed.
This is exactly what has always historically defined the Vampire... and the reason why he is called by that term: "feaster." And yet... he, and the females with whom he shares this multiorgasmic equality (Gospel of Thomas, Verse 61b)... are not gluttons, at all; they are simply capable of far greater sensual/emotional/spiritual enjoyment and communion than are ... the real "mundanes" of this world for whom one or two is sufficient.
Thus, indeed, Vampires... real Vampires... are not only known for such multiorgasmic "gluttony," instead they are defined by it.
