When I'm rating profiles... I sort by unrated, then go to portfolio, read and rate the portfolio, then click on the person's name to get back to the profile so I can go to journal.... read as many current journal entries I can find and then go to the profile to read and rate. (Sometimes adding them to my friends list or favorite journals in the process.)

When I'm all done, I click the back button until I get back to the Unsorted page so I can click on my next victim.

One one rating I had to click the back button about 10 times to get back to the unrated page and I got the following message:

"Hammering data, you have been logged out"

Oopsie. I didn't know that I was doing a bad thing there.

*DOH!*

(Now I feel completely awful!)

Yeah I've gotten that message a few times when I was zipping about. I wasn't sure what it meant...

I means that you were turning the pages faster than you can read them. When two pages load at the some time...you go bye bye. Slow down a little. And let VR load a page at a time. Suspension of this site is something you do not want to happen to you.

I haven't seen anything in the VR manual about it... (lord knows if the site search was working, that could help) but I think it means that we've had too many pages viewed within a certain period of time.

I think its supposed to prevent unnecessary strain on the system.

My current theory is that the limit is either 10 clicks in 10 seconds, or 500 clicks in an hour, or something like that....

The 10 clicks in 10 seconds would explain it for me, because I was trying to make my way back to the unrated page.

In the future, I'll try to make sure I don't abuse my browser "back" button.

Yep, Thanks to both of you. Now that I know what is is I can quit it. I'm fond of my back button too. It *really* should say something in the rules or the FAQ about this. I looked and found nada.

Not just the back button but also the refresh. And be careful with the message center! Watch that refresh. One page at a time...and no problems.

hmmm, gotcha. Yep I'm guilty of refresh too. I guess it's easir for me to mess up since I use firefox's tabbed browsing feature a lot. I might have the main forum, message center, and house forum all up at the same time bouncing around those pages and hitting both back and refresh. Crap! No wonder I got in trouble. I hope I'm not close to a suspension. I just got here and I wanna stay! I'll be much more careful in the future.
