Does anyone believe in any sort of mystical powers or beings assorted with a genie lamp?
Various beings that some people believe in and others don't are commonly discussed, so does anyone believe in a creature even similar to the idea of a genie that will grant you 3 wishes but will sometimes use them against you that isn't a demon?
I made one out of clay in my ceramics and sculptures class, any ideas how to make something pop out when people rub it that will freak them out without serious harm?
Just the lamp, it has no genie in it, at least not yet
My art teacher tried rubbing it but nothing happened, it's also not glazed and has to be fired again before it's done
I would guess that the lamp would have to be completed before anything would happen.
but does some form of a genie automatically move in to it?
do I have to charm it some how or find a creature myself to bind to it?
HI remember the term "Djinn" being associated with genies. The movie,
Wishmaster is an example.
It is not real. Jinns or Genies simply do not magically appear in a lamp, unless, of course, you practice sorcery and successfully manage to invoke something out of this world and so-call bind it to something. Just like how the Fairy Godmother does not exist, neither does the Jinn. One thing that really struck me was that Jinns are usually portrayed as granters of wishers. "I will grant you 3 wishes... Anything you want!" they say. I wonder why it's always 3. Perhaps it's a parable? Be careful what you wish for? There are so many ways wishes can go wrong, due to our ignorance or just plain silliness. In the Arabic culture, however, Jinns are believed to exist alongside angels and humans.
Very true about wishes. You could wish for great wealth, & your genie (or djin) grants it. However it appears as stolen money from a bank & the police show up & arrest you, taking you to jail.
I might evoke something because I do practice sorcery and I know how to bind things, though it'll probably be something weak because stronger things are a pain in the ass and cause damage
In my post you'll see I included "that isn't a demon" because when you think about it the wishes almost always bite you in the ass, which is usually how it works when getting a demon to do something
I think the people used to trap 'spirits' in lamps.
Cause it was the only thing around at the time,
that could lock somthing within it.
Kinda like todays 'witches ball' its made of blowen
glass, and can trap evil or powerfull spirits in them.
as you can tell 'genie's' seem to have a ghost-like
appearance..with no legs,and a fog like body.
Genie's work on trickery though.
So if you ever see or capture a spirit to have it
become a genie,be careful.
I don't think clay would catch anything,unless
you put some thing into the clay. like crystals,
and markings,of incantations to keep the
spirit inside.
only way for a genie to get all the way out..
is if he or she tricks you,in a wish.
or you wish them out.
But,i dont think anyone has actually 'seen'
a real genie... though.
It got fired and glazed which means it's coated with glass inside and out, I should have a picture this afternoon
What you're saying is these "genies" are just binded spirits, which makes sense, it's pretty much the same thing as binding a spirit to a stone only that's solid so they can't talk
Looks like a teapot that I made back in high School. It`s well sculpted though
I don't think genies are real and all your going to find to put in a lamp would be is a weak spirit or demon but if your powerful enough to trap a spirit or demon wouldn't that mean your powerful enough to get what you want I mean if the spirit or demon is weak how are they going to grant wishes you want to make wishes build you a wishing well please use plenty silver dollars I'll be around to collect my money
All I need is a weak one that looks scary and/or ugly, the purpose is to scare the shit out of people who don't believe, or the ones that do but didn't expect it
Of course I can get what I want and do so without demons or spirits of sorts so it gets done right without a chance of back fire
I agree with Ravenscry and KurlyQ! Whatever you wish for, prob
wouldn't be in your best interest in the long run!
someone have watch aladin cartoon once more too many. Lol sorry but some thinks can happend only in movies and cartoons. Like tom and jerry. Or cats do talk too?
noting in literature is completely original, they got the idea of the genie lamp from somewhere
I messed up my original idea for the coil pot so it's like why not, genie lamp
If all else fails it's still decoration that people will rub, it's even fully functional as far as tea pots go
