If one day you logged into VR and learned that Vlad Dracula was alive and well and was a member of The Rave, how would you take it knowing he in fact was a true vampire?Since he was always linked with vampires and vampirism, and was the basis for Bram Stokers Dracula, how would you feel about it all being true?
what distresses me more is going through threads, and seeing not registered next to peoples names.
I am on another vampire site and two of my "friends" there disappeared also. Although none of my friends have disappeared on here. I think the reason why we would need Vlad to come back is for him to protect us and tell us we are being hunted. Maybe he could like in that Clint eastwood spaghetti western movie go after the marksman who only shot for the heart and never missed by wearing a little bit of armor over his breast under his mexican blanket. The marksman kept shooting Clint and Clint kept falling down, but then he got up and the marksman was trembling, he thought Clint Eastwood's cowboy character was the devil.
If Vlad came on here. A real vampire, the first, and he could tell us of his resuerrection, and how to avoid dying for centuries, and living instead. I for one would welcome him with open arms and ask him what kind of armor would he recommend?
Given that we're talking about him in a mythical sense, I would be quite surprised to see him around. Even if he were a "vampire" in a supernatural aspect..he was beheaded. This has usually been known as pretty decent way to dispatch of anything..including the undead. I would disagree though to call the Impaler a vampire in the traditional sense..as I get the impression through what I've read that he drank blood more as a shock tactic and perhaps this even stemmed back to the simple warrior belief in the transference of admirable qualities from the ingestion of the enemies blood. That's just what I would think though.

are you sure he was beheaded Mrd. They open his tomb and found chicken bones. I'd like to see if his skeleton has a head attached first before I proclaim the undead dead. If something is dead how can you kill it anyways?
I am posting crazy tonight sorry Mrd....
Not an issue. :) I recall watching a documentary on A&E where they mentioned the now famous occurrence of the corpses disappearance. However, they also mentioned another excavation of the same tomb and found near the original site the bones of someone that they now suspect was indeed the Impaler prince. This is due to the clothing and aritifacts they found with the corpse. They think that the body was buried elsewhere in the tomb to evade grave robbings. In the matter of his beheading, it is a well known fact that he was beheaded and then the head was delivered to the Turkish Sultan of the time.

I saw the show as well...and all I meant was...IF it happened
Oh I know lol. Like I said though, I would be surprised given that history. If, barring that, he still were to show up..I would be curious to know exactly how long it took him to construct the "Forest of the Impaled". It's always fascinated me..as it did even the opposing soldiers that discovered it.

alright, I stand corrected.
I preface my fathers bio saying something historical, and then putting in a disclaimer though. I wrote:
No one can be sure what happened in the past...
the thing about history is his story
it is who lives to tell the tale.
I am sure if across the land came Vald's head however and brought into the laps of Sultans, it would have been seen by a great number of people. Therefore, again I concede, yet just to stress my main point that shoot, what did you eat for lunch yesterday?
How can we be sure of anything?
Therefore he has got a shot at coming back. Comebacks are beautiful, even for the undead
If he was here I'd try to call MTV and arrange another Celebrity deathmatch between Vlad and Cancer.
actually I think Vlad would be horrifed to be turned into a claymation creation to do some "fixed" bout with Cancer during the Superbowl half time break. To come back to life and then to be turned into a cartoon carecheture? It would make me angry even if I was turned into a cartoon character, I wonder how Vald would take it? How many heads would roll on that one. Carson daly would be history, all the MTV crew and who ever else made that scenario come to fruition.
well in his anger from having failed at dethroning Cancer, he would take over the internet and MINDF*&K the whole lot of the species.
Somehow I doubt that… binary I’m sure would not be one of his strong suits.
Now if he became a modern politician that would be interesting… I can think of a few verbal impalings I personally would LOVE to see/hear.
Vlad as a rival for Cancer...interesting concept, interesting as a movie..but yeah Im sure it would be a shock to log on and the newest member,Vlad Dracula
Well, I guess that would depend upon whether Vlad was a liar or not.
George Washington said after chopping down the cherry tree "Read my lips, no new taxes..."
And some modern president before getting elected said:
"I cannot tell a lie"
I hope I am not getting too politicaL, I mean who cares if Vlad would say: " I will not raise taxes" and then he does so?" We would expect him to always raise the stakes.
I thought I saw one member by that name anyways, he would have to loig on with his mothers surname and give his Social Security Number just like all the other, well now I am getting Americo centric, he would log on from Transylvania where else?
I would doubt him.
Cause who can tell me he wasn't a person who was trying to play a joke on me?You know this is the internet.
Anyway if it happened that I could belived him,I would just be surprised, then continue with my life.
yeah that is so true, no one has any effect on anyone in life, not even the all powerful Vald Dracula himself, amazing how life is
or isn't
well put deathnitegirl, so aprapos
Actually I think he'd be too busy impaling to go online :o)
most of the backstabbers the Soul group the Ojays sang about they do it by remote control from afar with forged paper discrediting you, knowing full well the stabs in the backs lead to heart attacks.
That was why I think he would wreak havok and vengfully revenge vengeance upon the pack by key strokes feeding the cable to your brainz. In the age of information, Vlad drinks mindeyes on ice, shaken and stirred.
How would we protect him, the greatest of our icons?
Maybe we mustn't do anything to him, but we'ren't sure that "the others" will respect and worship him as we will?
I think it would be great if it was true, but I doubt he would be here on the Rave.
Vlad Dracula was a man in the early centurys he was an evil man who killed for pleasure not for feeding infact he never drank the blood he spilled. so should not be liked to vampires.
He killed in the interests of preserving the justice of the old days. Not for pleasure.
As for if he appeared here, he'd probably be angered that his name had already been taken.
And about the Transylvanian logging on, Cancer's blocked the entire country of Romania, where Transylvania is located, from accessing VampireRave.
The only way Vlad would be able to log in would be by accessing the site via a proxy, which seeing as he's from the middle ages and not very versatile in binary, I highly doubt he could do.
Going back to the chicken bones theory, I saw a documentary on the History channel that states that they've found bones they believe to be his removed from his original grave by the cross of Christ in a chapel to a spot where all who entered to worship would have to step upon them. In this way, they hoped to let the peasants and villagers know that he was not someone to revere, but rather to revile.
where the transcept crosses the nave at the juncture of the chancel there is the altar
the undercroft of the crypt below the altar the most venerated are buried. There is a specific name for that area to be buried under.
I wonder if this is where Vlad lies?
for laymen most churches of the Romanesque were laid out as crosses, where the cross occurs is what I am talking about.
