I know everyone posts in here about their favorite vampire related subjects.. but this is a forum for VR related topics as well, correct?

So in an effort to expand on and get people thinking more about VR itself, I'd like to ask: How do you think those who run VR on a daily basis can improve on the site to keep it strong and "sticky" in web-marketing terms?

Now I'm a business owner, and part of my business is web-marketing. I see the banner ads running and know VR collects funds through premium memberships. Obviously both needed items to pay for bandwidth, server upgrades, development.. etc...

From a personal side, I see some people here starting to become a little, shall we say, bored with the whole status and leveling up thing. Losing a bit of it's stickiness, have you.

So evaluating VR, I see the best way to generate revenues and create a more loyal following is through better marketing of premium memberships, and the sale of more memberships.

Stealing cable.. er.. actually, an idea that the cable companies have been using for decades to sell more fries with their burgers - offering a limited time, trial period for HBO or other premium channels... or in this case, premium memberships.

Looking at the stats, 10% of the members 7700'ish members of VR are level 14 or above. I'm not sure exactly how many of those accounts are premimum opposed to free, but I'd have to guess at about a 50/50 split, if not leaning to the free side. A demographic that would be very marketable.

My idea is, allow free-users, level 14 (or, perhaps even level 10) or above a 1-week trial of premium services on VR, coupled with a page-click generated ad campaign to help entice them to buy the premium membership after their trial is over....

So I'd like to solicit the opinions of other people here... do you think such a plan would help VR sell more memberships?

Opinions? Other ideas? I know we have a lot of bright minds here, perhaps even business oriented people... let's have at it and see what we can brainstorm.

Before this thread gets the famous remarks of "great idea," I'm closing it.
We have had in the past idea threads for VR. It seemed a better idea and decision to just send your thoughts directly to Cancer. There is no need for any discussion in the threads for them.
Cancer can and may implement them when he feels they should be. ~ Billy
