Does anybody know anything about vampyric artwork or where I could learn more about it?

I know that this has been a topic of the forum and I tried digging around to find the thread but perhaps its archiaved by now.

My suggestion would be doing a basic google search on vampire artwork. This should help dig up some various artists and works.

I am actually surprised that VR does not catalogue vampire artwork. The database is filled with lots of other vampire items but nothing when it comes to paint, sculpture, or drawings. My House, La Belle Obscuridad, has a whole hall dedicated to art and currently there is an essay about Edvard Munch’s “The Vampire” also known as "Love and Pain." There is a variety of artwork out there influences by vampires and its a shame that we don't incorporate it into VR as much as other vampire themed items.

I think that having paintings and sculptures being posted here would be a great idea, though someone would have to personally take over it otherwise it dumps too much work on other people.

Other than paintings and sculptures and older styles of art I don't think it's a good idea...meaning we couldn't post images made by people now unless we had specific permission to do so. There are a lot of art thieves out there who would like to claim certain pieces as their own, and I'd hate to see VampireRave get in to copyright problems...

its an idea for the vampire database but i don't think that the server is big enough to hold it all.

Also how do you catagorize it....it would be a incrediable undertaking...

As for vampire art...I like Luis Royo, Dorian Cleavager and Clyde Caldwell. If you do a yahoo search on their names, their work will come up.

Simply looking around at different people's profiles on here would be the best way to discover more vampire themed artwork.

It really is a bit too large of a task to take on, if you really wanted to do the artwork justice you would have to post a nice enough image of it, give links to all certain places, where it can be viewed in person, who did it, what it means, the history of it, how old it is, blah blah blaaaah.

Lots and lots of work, but a great idea.

I would say check the search engines as well.. but I also agree that it would be grat to have such a place in the Database.

Another place to look at would be JasonBeam.com or using a search engine under dark art. Just using Vampire art as a search guide won't do you justice, you must consider all options...
