As far as boundaries go, I'd say the biggest one is consent. And it is obvious to those involved and other around them whether or not the biter and the bleeder are doing their actions of their own free will. Another, I'd say is definitely setting limits on exactly how much blood is given. One's bodily limit depends on the individual, but the average is one pint, the amount given in a blood donation, because it is the amount of excess blood stored in the spleen.
well what kage said pretty much summed it up. not sure i can add to much to it... Consent is the main word.. I would never take from someone who was not willing.
Consent is huuge with me.. as anyone that has seen me rant can tell you lol.
But the other things I insist on.. is privacy.. I will not feed on someone in a club say.. does not matter what kind of club it is.. its a matter of respect. I would not have sex with someone in public.. I will not feed on them either.
Another thing is that I tend to stay with the person till I am certian they are fine. Make sure they have food ... juice.. that kind of thing. I tend to cook a nice meal and all for them.
I just basically try to show them how grateful I am. And I do try to gather the blood in a way that will not raise too many questions... form parts of the body most people wil not be seeing.. things like that.
Again with concent--HUGE! Feeding can be incredibly intimate, and there is never a time when it's okay to chomp down on someone in the middle of a public place. To someone who does not understand the situation vampirc feeding will only look either sexual/sensual or violent. Neither wins you points for public displays. And if anyone is crazy enough to jump some random stanger on the street and bit them, they deserve the assault charges that will follow.
As far as abusive? Does anyone really need to feed on so much blood that it would be detrimental to the health of their donor? Probably not. These donors are concenting to give a gift of themselves and should be respected for such. Also, there shoudl be a level of trust between vamp and donor if for not other reason than the secrets that have to be kept. Also there is the issue of disease. No one likes to talk about it, but sharing blood (or any other bodily fluids) is potentially dangerous in more ways than just bleeding someone dry. There should be a great deal of responsibility involved for both parties, otherwise things could end badly. With this much personal repor involved, how could anyone let things get to an abusive level? (I know it happens...)
Interesting thread...not sure that it has not been brought to public light in the past....see, for example Dawn Perlmutter who wrote: http://www.anthropoetics.ucla.edu/archive/anth0502.pdf....
Perlmutter's conclusion in part reads: "Occult crimes are the natural result of
the escalation of violent aesthetics that dispute moral values. Blood Art, Vampyre Culture, The Fetish Scene literally set the ritual stage for sacrifice. Ritual murder is the epitome of the sacrificial aesthetic freed from ethical responsibility to society. What begins as artists experimenting with the use of blood and mutilation as a form of personal transformation escalates to an entire culture founded on the principles of a dark mythology manifested in orgiastic ritual. Once blood rituals turn participatory and
ideologically justify sacrifice, idolatry is achieved."
In researching Perlmutter (Inst. for the Research of Organized & Ritual Violence), I am disturbed at the conclusory nature of statements I find linked together under her “research”
I don't feed. But even if I were to be a 'feeder'... I think consent should be a given. If not... it's against the freakin' law.
In my personal opinion, consent is the most important and of course respect... and also agree with the privacy... it´s an intimate moment, so it must be taken like that... finally you have a strong bond with your donor...
Concent. Making sure that you've talked about it and understood exactly what's going to happen, and make sure all questions have been answered. Be reassuring, and make sure both parties are comfortable.
i personally have a dominant personality and when my urges get to a point i know i have to feed even if i have to persuade my partner to let me feed but of course in the end it is something mutual and very pleasurable to say the least..i do worry about other socities calling what i do abuse even though it is not necesarrilly forced
i'm gonna say that its abuse when you force it on them, like blood rape.
yeah thats just a given..in my opinion everything should always be mutual.
has anyone on here ever had any bad or negative experiences?if so please tell us about them
i'd have to say doing that in public is kind of not necessary.
id have to say the things are consent, amount, and basic respect. i dont think its cool to be called up at like 3am because someone wants a drink.
I'd say consent is the biggest worry. After you got that taken care of, I like to have a small cut that could look like a cat scratch or something minor. You may not get much but no one will get curious with semi deep cuts on the person's arms and places like that.
If you set boundrys with your feeder first and don't pass those boundries then it is not abuse. If you choose to exceed those boundries then it would be concidered as abuse.
very well said "Arachnidfrost"
so what boundaries does most everyone go by on here if any at all
Well, when I am lucky to have a donor, I only cut a tiny bit of the skin and I only drink a bit. I really don't want anyone to get suspicious. It's just one of my fears of being caught.
Im not a vampire feeder but I still crave the boundries that are set are set by my donnor, when it gets to much she has a safety word that she says and I stop
abuse is vewed the same way among my kind as it is in the human world no means no in any people group thes who do not stop should be puneshed and not try to use what they are as a excuse
I agree. I hate to hear about people using donors and not caring about their boundaries. It's sad when a vampire tries to go over the boundaries.
i am curious has anyone know or ever head of any articles that talked about vampire abuse
well...im sure that everyone knows that if you take the last drop of blood from someone then you will become something horrible, a monster if you will
that is why some choose to drink animals blood (from a butcher for example) but for those who want the rush, they only take what they need from someone and plant a memory into their minds and move on to the next one if they are still thirsty for more
what you say is a horrible monster i call a beautiful creature yes a vampire.i admit the rush is great of the victems blood surging from them to you..screams maybe even moans of pleasure but in the end both are pleased one by giving up mortal energy and the other by receiving the essence which is part of being a vampire.but in all reality there is nothing wrong with that as long as it is all mutual.
I personally get my sanguine from two sources.one i have a friend who has support for our kind, who works in a bloodbank, and she twice a month acccidently on purpose, slides me a blood bag from the new deliveries.yes i know its slightly illegal, but i cope with my thirst this way.either this or drink a blood shake, two steaks blended to a drinkable state.this is what works for me.
But the latter is most riskiest.
I think if it is a personal, and private ritual between you and your donor, where both parties are in complete agreement with what is happening, and the donor is completely aware of what's going on and what can happen, then it cannot be abuse.
A friend of mine is a "feeder" and his main concerns were permission ie consent, energy levels he had 3 people to choose from and relationship with the person. He chose me because I guess I was the only one who could handle it.....
Darkest Greetings...
there certainly has to be consent from the person ,
A matter of common sense, I believe,
...
Though humans may be one of our energy and/or blood sources,
we must find a voluntary donor...
just my thoughts...
Lord Markus
Consent is the main word.. I would never take from someone who was not willing.
It has to be an agreement between the people involved, not to mention trust
I always get consent first. We live in a culture where some people are willing to be our "blood dolls" so why should we have to abuse people who don't want to be a part of it?
On a similar note, according to the law (at least in California), if there is a waiver signed by the person being "hurt", it is not considered abuse. They meant this to avoid legal issues involving BDSM but blood drinking is considered part of that. :)
It's not abuse if they like it.
i think if you are going to feed take that person to a safe place away from eyes of others.
I think its something that is private and should be discussed before the bite.
