n Irish mythology, it is said that a race of kings descended from the heavens to the ancient, pre-Celtic culture of Ireland. These tall, bright, shining creatures were elegant and beautiful and brought with them the secret knowledge of the gods. While the Tuatha represent a caste of Irish elemental beings, there are also accounts of them being flesh and blood conquerors of the Fir Bolg, one of the ancient races inhabiting Ireland, coming down and invading from the four northern cities of Falias, Gorias, Murias and Finias, where they acquired their occult skills and magical attributes.
Tuatha Dé Danaan roughly, but imprecisely translates as “peoples/children of the goddess Danu.” In the old Irish tuath means “people, tribe, nation;” dé is the genitive case of día, meaning, “god, goddess, supernatural being, object of worship.” They are often referred to simply as the Tuatha, Tua or the Tuatha Dé, which was also used in early Irish Christian texts as a name for the Israelite diaspora, which, in and of itself, is an interesting historical reference, as Danu has also been rendered Anu. The reference – if not already obvious – creates an interesting link between Israel and ancient Mesopotamian mythologies.
According to Lebor Gabála Érenn (The Book of the Taking of Ireland, the Middle Irish title of a loose collection of poems and prose narratives recounting the mythical origins and history of the Irish from the creation of the world down to the Middle Ages), the Tuatha descended to Ireland “in dark clouds” and “landed on the mountains of Conmaicne Rein in Connacht, bringing a darkness over the sun for three days and three nights.” Another version of the story, less steeped in the mistiness of legend, the Tuatha were flesh and blood invaders, landing in a fleet of sea vessels on the shores of what is modern day Connemara, Ireland. As if to seal their resolve, they burned all their ships, so as to provide themselves no mode of retreat. The rising smoke from the fires is said to be the basis for the myth that tells of their arrival in smoke from the skies.
A poem in the Lebor Gabála Érenn says of their arrival:
It is God who suffered them, though He restrained them
.
They landed with horror, with lofty deed,
In their cloud of mighty combat of spectres,
Upon a mountain of Conmaicne of Connacht.
Without distinction to discerning Ireland,
Without ships, a ruthless course
The truth was not known beneath the sky of stars,
Whether they were of heaven or of earth.
After a series of wars, it is said that the mythical Tuatha de Danann were defeated, and subsequently receded into the “hollow hills,” eventually coming to be known as the Elven folk of Celtic lore. It is interesting to note that the prefix, “El,” of Elven is a derivative of the ancient Sumerian Elil and the Hebrew Elohim, both being proper pronouns for the names of gods. There exists a startlingly recognizable similarity between the mythological Tuatha de Danann and the Nephilim, as they appear to be etymological descendants in the transmission of religious thought. Elil and Ea were the linguistic predecessors of Elohim and Yahweh (Jehovah).
Gentle Hunter
It is also interesting to note that the Tuatha de Danaan are the basis for J.R.R. Tolkien’s tall, elegant, bright, shining Elven people of Lothlorien. Tolkien had his finger on the pulse of a shadowy history, and was more than obviously hailing to those historical roots.
“…The ancient people of the Tuatha De Danann…were the supernatural tribe of the pre-Achaean agricultural goddess Danae of Argos, or perhaps of the Aegean mother-goddess, Danu. But their true name rendered in its older form was Tuadhe d’Anu. As such, they were the people (or tribe) of Anu, the great sky gods of the Anunnaki.”
~ Sir Laurence Gardner, Realm of the Ring Lords: The Myths and Magic of the Grail Quest
The Canaanite territory of northern Israel is said to have once been occupied by the Israelite tribe of Dan, who, during the days of the Bible’s Great Exodus, around 1446 BCE, is said to have separated from Moses and the rest of the Israelites, traveling to the north. It was there that the Danites encountered the worship of Baal/Pan and became involved in the pagan fertility rites practiced by the indigenous Canaanite peoples at Mount Hermon, the very place where according to the Book of Enoch, the Sons of God (the bene ha’ Elohim) descended to the earth and made a pact to mate with human women and have children with them, bequeathing the mythological Nephilim.
The people of the Israelite tribe of Dan intermingled with the Canaanite Tuatha De Danann, also known as the Dragon Lords of Anu, said to be the offspring of the ancient Sumerian Anunnaki. This is also one of the interpretations of the Sons of God intermingling with the “daughters of men,” referenced in the Genesis chapter six story of the Nephilim. One of the interpretations of the story is that the children of Israel, as represented by the tribe of Dan, broke the law of God and intermarried with the Canaanites in the region of Mount Hermon, where the Elohim (the Watchers of the Book of Enoch) were said to have descended. Cultural values of the day did not allow for the women of Israel to intermingle with the men of another culture, so only he men were said to have taken Canaanite brides from the Tuatha de Danaan. Hence, the basis of the story for the “Sons of God” intermingling with the “Daughters of Men.” This integrated tribe of Dan and Danaan/Danu/Anu migrated to the north and west, settling along the way in the European and Scandinavian regions as a conquering nomadic people, replacing those they conquered with their own traditions blended with the Canaanite Anunnaki Serpent culture.
The similarities and multiple connections once again become staggering: Tuatha de Danann, Danites, Tribe of Dan and their linkage to the Dragon Lords, the Anunnaki and the Serpent. Are these simply tricks of word similarities or are the coincidences far too great to overlook?

It really depends on the author what they believe about this group of beings. I believe they were an actual ethnic culture due to all the research I have done on them. Annunaki is the Akkadian word but the Sumerian is Anunna. No one really knows what they called themselves. Personally I believe the Tuatha De' may have originally worshipped from that group of beings but I don't think they were the Anunnaki. Interesting you tied these two together, not everyone does? There might be a direct connection. Do I believe they existed? Probably and because of their differences, height, and knowledge they were elevated to the stature of gods. From what I can tell they came out of pre-Hellenistic Greece and migrated north. Some stayed in Scandinavia and others after a time went into Hibernia. It was so long ago the information on them is sketchy. This is the first time I have heard of the Tolkien connection as well. If it is in his notes then it is probably true, because they have them but if not it is an extrapolation by writers. I write novels and most of them are about the Anunna and the Tuatha De'. I don't consider them the same people exactly but I do consider there may be a connection. This is a mystery I doubt will be solved. As for the Tribe of Dan, some say that was debunked and others say the Danes stem from these people and they are of the tribes of the De' Danann, which is spelled a myriad of ways. Never have seen Tuatha De Anunnaki written before either. Have seen the use of Anu though. It's all sketchy information and many authors have quite a lot of theories. They were very tall with red hair and blue or green eyes. Their knowledge was far above those in tribes in Ireland and then it gets into vague mythology. Many believe they intermarried as well with the Fir Bolg. There are many versions of stories about those that dwelled in Ireland ages ago. I don't know what your question was.

Sorry for a second post but I did see your questions and I think I answered them all. I forgot after I opened the window. I wish they would add edit to the posting in here. Most of the answers would be in respect to who you believe the Tuatha De' were. Sorry for the extra post.

Wonderful post, Artemiaeve... and so much here that is historically accurate with a few small exceptions, but is generally on point.

And, Asphalt Tears, you are absolutely correct in pointing out that "Annunaki is the Akkadian word but the Sumerian is (Annuna)."

And it is amazing to me that the article author was able to make connection between the Annuna descendants and the Tribes of Israel... because the Annuna (the Watchers... the BeneHaElohim [Sons of God]) did indeed sire children by Israelite women and kept them hidden within a specific Tribe of Israel (Deuteronomy 33:12). However, as the scripture I just referenced reveals, that Tribe was not the Tribe of Dan... but, instead, the Tribe of Benjamin, inside which the "beloved of the Lord" (his seed) was protected for hundreds and hundreds of years without the rest of the Tribes of Israel finding out.

Benjamin was conceived on or about the same night that an "angel" had an unprecedented physical confrontation with Jacob, an "angel" who Jacob called "God" and who changed Jacob's name to "Israel" (i.e., "he who struggles/contends with God"). This is the only account of an angel/God appearing to a man resulting in the man physically attacking Him, which begs the question... why? The Bible gives no explanation for this, at all.

When considered in light of the other angelic visitations in the Bible announcing impending miraculous births (e.g., of Isaac, John the Baptist, Jesus), might it be possible this angel had just told Jacob that he was to be a father... perhaps of a child not biologically his... but that of the angel, himself?

When recalling that the Bible calls the Annuna, the Bene-ha-Elohim (Sons of God) who were known to descend and "go into unto the daughters of men" and sired children with them, this sounds like what might well have been happening here, as well.

And, finally, let's not forget what happened to the Tribe of Benjamin.

In Judges 19-20 we find that as a result of a very far-fetched single event involving a concubine being allegedly raped by members of the Tribe of Benjamin, after which the concubine's master/husband lay hold on her and cut her to pieces (killing her) and sending such gory pieces to the other Tribes, suddenly and without any further explanation we find ALL the other 11 Tribes choosing to go to war against one of their own Tribes, their own kinsmen, ultimately annihilating every single one of them... except 600 who escaped. An entire Tribe, almost 20,000 men, women and children were slaughtered... so as to completely destroy the entire bloodline.

The flimsiness of the Biblical excuse for this slaughter of Benjamin is self-evident given how minor this alleged crime was compared with far greater sexual and other crimes committed by Israelites against their own women and other Israelites. Further, there is no evidence offered of the alleged rape except the word of the very man, the husband, who admittedly hacked his concubine into pieces! And yet... this one alleged act, claimed only by the woman's "husband" from whom she had just fled due to apparent abuse before this event, and with only his word of what happened, was all it took to incite ALL the Tribes to slaughter almost an entire Tribe?! Why?!?!! And why would they all be so enraged against the ENTIRE Tribe of Benjamin for the actions of a few... allegedly? It makes no sense... yet the resulting genocide occurred!

As many Biblical scholars have commented, this has all the earmarkings of a cover-up to hide from history the real reason why this genocidal slaughter occurred to eradicate the bloodline of Benjamin. Obviously, there was something that had been revealed about the bloodline of Benjamin that in their eyes justified Benjamin's wholesale slaughter. Might it have been that Benjamin was protecting within their Tribe descendants of those falsely demonized as the "fallen angels" and/or their direct descendants (again, Deuteronomy 33:12 makes clear that a select group of persons "beloved of the Lord" were being protected inside Benjamin)?

When one knows the key singular and highly unique characteristic possessed by those of the Annuna bloodline, the clues revealed in the account in Judges 19-20 reveal exactly this same characteristic and was phrased specifically to be directly reminiscent of the previously recorded encounter with the two cities (Sodom and Gomorrah) known to have been cities of the Sons of God and their descendants anciently who were so similarly (though falsely) demonized, as well.

(Note: if, therefore, the "angel" with whom Jacob "wrestled" was, in fact, a BenHaElohim [Son of God], then that Son of God is the TRUE "God of Israel", literally, that Jacob/Israel worshiped and that the Israelites/Christians have worshiped ever since!)

There are far more evidences and revelations that go far deeper than these... but to explain any further would require far deeper knowledge of both Israelite history and the Bible. As it is... what I've pointed out already will be too in-depth for most here.

I'd also like to point out that after this slaughter of the Tribe of Benjamin, 600 Benjamites escaped the slaughter. Well, as it so happens, about four years later, the Tribes of Israel softened their hearts toward the remaining 600 survivors and promised not to slaughter them. Obviously, the key genetic trait for which the BeneHaElohim and their descendants were known must not have been in evidence in these survivors. So they were allowed to live and raise families.

And they proliferated so well that by the First Century CE (AD), when Jesus was born and had his ministry, the entire northern area of Israel, especially Nazareth and the areas surrounding the Sea of Galilee, was populated mostly by... you guessed it... the Tribe of Benjamin.

Jesus' mother was most likely of Benjamin... and Jesus (whose own birth was... as with Benjamin's) heralded by an angel announcing his "miraculous" birth to her husband, Joseph. And Jesus spent most of his life living amongst and teaching Benjamites. Most of Jesus' disciples/apostles were also Benjamites.

And what does the name "Benjamin" actually mean?

Scholars have always argued about the etymology of the name "Benjamin" and continue to do so to this day. Some say it means "son of the south" and others that it means "son of the right hand." Actually... neither meaning is correct, which is why they are still arguing about it.

The name "Benjamin" means exactly what its three syllables plainly translate to mean: Ben (son)-ja (of)-Min... "Son of Min."

It is both Hebrew and Egyptian and literally means... the Son of Min. And who is Min?

Min is the primordial Egyptian deity with the SAME unique characteristic that all of the Annuna males possessed... and the same unique characteristic the historical Vampire also possesses: natural unlimited orgasmic capacity... the same as women possess... and, thus, they and women are true equals, true companions to and for one another. And, thus, why normal men have always hated them.

The Egyptian God Min is the Egyptian depiction of one of the Annuna... which was the same "God" who wrestled with Jacob that lonely night... and who sired Benjamin. Thus, this Annuna god who was and still is the real "God of Israel" was the real father of Benjamin... and perhaps also of Jesus (remember, he was the God with whom Jacob wrestled and that Jacob called "God." Thus, Jesus would have literally been the Son of God. And when this "angel" ("God") revealed this to Jacob (just as another angel revealed this same information to Abraham and, in Jesus' time, to Joseph about Mary), Jacob chose to fight the angel.

And why the name in both Hebrew and Egyptian? That's quite simple: Because all the Sons of Israel spent the rest of their lives in Egypt, remember? Thus, Benjamin's name meant to the Egyptians exactly what it meant to the Israelites... and probably helped protect Benjamin as a result; he was the Son of their most important God!
