I was watching an episode of Blood Ties, and it was about this teenager who was trying to find his soulmate, who he had been with and died at the same time with for several hundreds of years.

It got me to wondering, would it be possible for two souls to be so interconnected in that way that they could actually come into each lifetime knowing that they had a soulmate, and spend years searching that one other person out?

Is there such a thing as soul mates in that high of a capacity? You hear about people saying that they found their soul mate, but what if you just knew, and would only rest until you found that one soul? What are people's thoughts on this?

I think everyone has that to some extent. Some people are just more aware of that than others. But yes, I believe in soul mates very much.

I am not sure about soul mates but I do believe that the people we have in our lives today were somehow involved in our pass lives in some shape or form. I dont think that my wife today was my wife in a pass life but in some small way she was there.

i belive everyone has a soulmate its that person that you just talk to them and you are like holyshit where has this person been.

i believe that there is that one special person for everyone. even if they never find them.... but i think "soul mate" is an overly used word.

That sounds similar to the notion of imprinting which i read about most recently in books by Stephanie Meyer (fiction).

Less ethereal than a soul mate more that once you see someone you know they are yours and vice versa.

I believe in soul mates as well. Unfortunatley it is hard to judge whether or not one has really met their "soul mate" or just someone who's just really good for them. It may be possible to have more than one soul mate perhaps?

I do not think we come into this life knowing anything other than the physical acts our bodies carry out to survive. As to whether there is truely soulmates or not... that would be up to an individual to decide on their journey throughout life.

I do believe in the meeting of souls. Through our decisions in our lives we make a choice to pick our soul mate. I'm not sure I believe we can know for each life, if you believe as I, in reincarnation. That is, I feel stretching it. I shared my life with my 1st soul-mate for 18 1/2 years. He died! I must live on, being only 45, I have chosen a new mate and we have made the choice through our agreement to become married to become soul-mates.

Personally, I believe we all have soul mates- but just not one. Because some of us have lived several lives, we have a few potential soul mates. It's just locating at least one of them.

While I do not believe in reincarnation I can't help but find the idea of a soul mate for everyone very appealing. To find another that speaks to your heart in such a way is what we all look for don't you think. I choose to believe that there is more than one for each of us as to find the "one" in this over populated world seems an impossible task.

I believe there are many kindred spirits for everyone. However, only one true soul mate.. I believe your soul mate will come when you are truly ready to receive them. When true soul mates are entwined on such a deep level and joined before they are ready their relationship are often filled with great struggles..Thus sometimes it is wise to wait until you and your soul mates become ready to receive each other.

theres an old greasen story that humans started out with to heads and one soul and one day one of the gods had a fight with his wife and was so angery he split the bodys of humans in to giveing them both half of the one soul and scarted then all acrose the land and from that day forth man and women have sought out there soul mate
