I started this poll to see if I was the only one having this weird call. An emotional or some other urging to reach out and connect.
I've seen some comments in journals that indicate a similar feeling. People that have been away as long as I have coming back online and looking for something. Not many, as the pool indicates, but super small sample size, so not exactly scientific.
Anecdotal conversations lend a bit of weight to the idea too. At 42% saying they felt something, I'd hazard to say it's not entirely imagined. And the coincidences, timings of many little synchronicities, they're fascinating.
There's an idea out there in a few concepts that posits that when someone, one of the number awakens, that it sends out a 'ping' of sorts, or creates a magnetic draw towards them, that it may also awaken others, it's so powerful.
I haven't seen if it's any of the number, or if it has to be a special type of individual- a 'keystone', or nexus. But that would make sense as much as anything in this area of study does.
So, if I'm accepting that the proposed concept is 'true', I think that what may have happened is that an individual who is a keystone with some power went through an awakening, sending out a signal or call that prompted others who are awakened, or have their third eye opened, to respond and draw them to seek out that nexus individual.
Open to contradiction if anyone has an opinion.

I recently felt the urge to write in my VR journal.
I don't know if it was a call, maybe I guess.
I really did too. Just a desire to get it written down.
Call is one way- urging, driven maybe. Not sure of it myself. It just felt like that's what I wanted to do.
I don't talk about life much on social media so antisocial media seemed like a good place. hahaha
a calling or a whisper in the wind as a direction method. I feel we all have a calling to connect with individuals, families, and communities. Just when or that sudden tingling that drives you to find the one you are called for. A tingling in the brain that stirs up feelings to connect with what you may need in your life at that moment. I guess yes as we get older the connection for me is always a bit of the past i wish to connect with.

i had left several years ago...not because I didnt like it, but the drama got very tiring. At some point I tried to come back on but my passwords were not working and so I just kinda forgot it for awhile. A few of the friends I made here I still had contact with other ways. Over the last several years now I had lost contact with a few and decided to put in the effort to recover my accts. Id hoped to see a few people maybe still around so I could reconnect, but seems now they are on a hiatus of their own, or gone. A calling I'm not so sure, a pull to reconnect with other like minded people yes. A world of chaos right now, maybe its a hope for reconnection before something bad happens.
Back in Spring 2024, I actually left about a month or two after I created my account/profile. A longtime member (Sire Level), with whom I was chatting and trying to befriend, was the reason for my departure. He accused me of making assumptions about him when I was talking about my past socializing with other folks online. He became angry at me with a condescending tone. Honestly, he was dismissive and invalidated me. After THAT experience, I was in tears behind the screen. I immediately made the decision to leave VR and logged out. Never to return until summer 2025.
Usually, I'm the one to reach out to old friends. But in this case, regarding VR I wouldn't exactly say I felt "called" to come back.
I primarily joined VR to meet like-minded individuals with a shared interest in vampires and to learn about the community/lifestyle. I DID NOT join VR to get talked down to and invalidated.
I felt called back to VR because modern social media these days is so boring and bland - no customization no unique flavor! I really like VR because of the customization and community. Although I don't talk to many people on here, I still enjoy it. I don't talk to anyone really on modern social media either anyways. Does anyone do the webcams anymore on here? Can't believe I made my account when I was a senior in high school 12 years ago! As an adult I enjoy this site more now and it's very nostalgic of the old internet.
