I have read books of Vampire legends and lore from various countries and cultures.
I do believe that Vampires are among us in all forms of "Vampirism" but outside of fiction in today's times, there aren't many "True" accounts.
To my question. I believe that the Holy Bible is one book even through all its adaptations over time it has remained pretty true to its content.
And in the Bible in anywhere I have read it makes no mention of Vampires. Sure demons and devils and dragons, but not the name "vampire."
In the Christian faith it is said suicides would become vampires after the death at their own hands, but nowhere in scriptures I have seen say such things.
Is there any mention in the Bible of vampires? Possibly under another name? If so, where?
Wouldn't this give credence to fact that vampires are here?
Why the horror stories from ministers and preachers of turning to one if suicide is commited with no proof of such things? A mere way of trying to put fear of vampires and damnation and find faith? Or does the Church know the truth, that we are here?
Anyone with knowledge please respond.
I knew I could count on your wisdom for my answer.
I knew that "vampire" was created after the Bible had been written, but great work on the passages.
Thank you for your knowledge Cancer.
Thank you Elder Daniel for your added insight.
Not to get on a religious tangent, but it does raise a question.
I understand that in these passages pointed out that indeed drinking of blood as a "no-no."
So why in Catholicism, and other religions that have communion do they reference the drinking of the wine as "the blood" of Christ?
Isn't that going against their own "no-no?"
Interested to hear back. And Nice to meet you Elder Daniel.
Oohhhh... ok, this is getting to be quite an interesting read. Im patiently waiting to see what comes up after the next commercial=)
~K~
Dayryn, nice to meet you as well. I was hoping this point would be brought up.
I've often joked with Fundies that Christ was a vampire. He bid his followers to drink his blood, eat his flesh, and if they did so they would be resurrected after their death. Just as he too rose from the dead and flew into the heavens after he died. His followers sure act like a bunch of swayed ghouls, too. It's a great way to mess with their heads, but I digress.
My point of view on Catholic communion rituals involving the Blood of Christ actually is based on this very same belief that blood drinking is forbidden. It does not violate it, and actually depends on it and strengthens it.
First, you aren't drinking blood when you take communion. It's a ritual with a sanctified substance that is meant to symbolize the power of the Christ. Even at the Last Supper, Christ didn't shed any of his blood to share in the Grail for the disciples. It was symbolic as a way to remember him and his sacrifice. You are to believe that through the sanctification, you are sharing in his power, his blessing. But when the pastor says, "This is the blood of Christ", he does not mean he has performed a "water into wine.. into blood" miracle before you.
Second, it is symbolic of sharing the essence of a deity, half-deity, holy man, prophet, whatever you believe he was. Even if it was "blood", as it is represented, it is still OK to drink it because it was Christ's blood. Not an animal's and not (religiously speaking) a normal man's. His blood is exempt from this law because Christ was the son of God.
I would would love to hear what a Catholic pastor would say though to this conflict with Leviticus, Deuteronomy, etc. They would probably give those two defenses above, I imagine. For that matter, I wonder what a Rabbi would say in argument against it.
It would be funny though to go to Communion, and "pour the blood upon the ground like water" then claim you were following the letter of the law. *impish grin.
You can still eat "the flesh of Christ" Communion wafers though. I'd wager there's no "life blood" in it.

I thought the referances to drinking blood refered to the people themselves. Alot of Leviticus is actualy good advice for living.
In a time when some meat was under-cooked don't eat pork.(worms kill)
Don't sleep with your sister.(birth defects)
Don't sleep with your sister-inlaw(brothers kill)
Don't drink blood.(Rabis, hepetitus, etc...)
If you look at the tribes that were to be destroyed as people and not as monsters, you have a political agenda to take the "promised land"
I find the miracle of Laviticus is the fact there is good advice that is backed up by modern science in a time when the world was flat and the sun revolved around the earth.
Just a secular view, not trying to take anything away from anyones faith.
"I am the incubus. I lay the egg in you. The worm that burrows to your brain. You are the one that calls me by my name." -KISS
Where does one find "the Great Book"? I assume it is not easily available..
Found an original version of The Great Bible for sale here.
$149,500 for a 1st edition.
$49,000 to $89,000 for 2nd and 3rd editions.
No punn intended here... but Holy Mary thats expensive stuff. However, apparently there are people willing to pay that much for knowledge of our/their religious pasts ( or hobbies as some people go ).
~K~
yep! the Bible has vampires in it..
Starting from the time of Moses down to Saul and then to Solomon...
cool huh?
ahhhh..yeah the great bible is very expensive...wow!
interesting though...
Greetings all
I do not wish to anger anyone with this remark
but who drinks the blood of christ eats his bread ever weekend at church this is vampirism that has been going on for so long each week people crowd into churches to drink from the chalice the blood of christ
JUst a different way of looking at things but its true
regards

Some of the laws were meant to maximize reproduction. First, sex on the period is just nasty. Second to maximize a man’s output he needs a rest. During a time of war you want as many cannon fodder as possible being born.
Maybe Moses was a hair stylist.
yes i have not read in any part of the bible about suicides becoming vampires or demons or going to hell
neither have i read about succubus or incubus in the bible which i personaly think resembles a vampire
if anyone can help me find referance in the bible relating to any of this above, could you let me know please ?

Those of the opinion that vampires are in The Bible are usually pointing to The Book Of Enoch... it's a pseudepigraphical book and not actually in The Bible, it didn't make the cut for the canon.
Although, The Ethiopian Bible does include The Book of Enoch as well as other ancient texts that did not make it into our Bible.
"And they became pregnant, and they bare great giants, whose height was three thousand ells: Who consumed all the acquisitions of men. And when men could no longer sustain them, the giants turned against them and devoured mankind. And they began to sin against birds, and beasts, and reptiles, and fish, and to devour one another's flesh, and drink the blood."
I own a book called 'The Other Bible' which holds most of the known texts out there that were left out of The Bible when faced at the councils (or possibility never considered) even though they all come from the same time period. Many of these are so very different from The Bible and stories we've heard... quite unfamiliar and contrary. Others, are very familiar.

The reason why the "vampire" is not specifically mentioned in the Bible is because the term "vampire" is Slavic in origin.
The reason why blood drinkers are not specifically mentioned in the Bible (outside of the Book of Enoch) is because the historical "vampire" of Eastern Europe and Slavic lands was not a blood drinker.
It was never blood-drinking that characterized the vampire. They were known for something else decidedly different. It wasn't until centuries later when the graves of those believed to be vampires were dug up and the decomposition fluids found in and around the exhumed corpses were mistaken for blood that this changed. As it was ignorantly believed that the corpses were bloated with blood, it was stupidly assumed that the corpses must have somehow risen from the grave and drank blood from the living...
... and thus, the new belief in vampires as additionally being blood-suckers was born.
Over the centuries thereafter, their original and truly defining characteristic was forgotten in the West (due to our more puritanical sensibilities) and the ridiculously false blood-drinking belief was just about all that remained.
Now... I had to summarize that to tell you this:
Vampires are in the Bible... but they are alluded to in their true form and by their true characteristics.
You will find them referenced in Genesis 6:1-4 as the children of the "Bene Ha Elohim" (literally "Sons of God," also called the "Watchers"). These "Sons of God" children were known throughout the Canaan area as the Rephaim (look up the term in any Biblical search engine) and were systematically hunted down and slaughtered over centuries, as the Bible records, for their possession of this singular and truly "vampiric" characteristic only they and those of their bloodline possessed.
And... no... despite what the Book of Enoch states, these children were not "giants" at all. The Book of Genesis, written over a thousand years before the Book of Enoch, never makes any mention of cannibalistic blood-drinking, flesh-consuming Giants... no, not one word. In fact, the word "giant" is not even found in the actual Book of Genesis. (The King James Bible mistranslates "Nephilim" [which means "the fallen ones"] as "Giants".)
Thankfully, despite the horrific lies and vilifications told against them down through the ages, the Rephaim survived this initial wave of slaughter. How do we know this? Because... they are found in the New Testament, as well.
If you wish to find "vampires" in the New Testament... simply read the Book of Jude, which is one long diatribe against them, against their singular "vampiric" characteristic, and warning others of their presence in the original Christian congregations.

I don't know UpirLikhyj... I think a lot of that vampire history is according to you, my personal view. The majority of the world is flawed in believing vampires have anything or have ever had anything to do with blood drinking, but you have the 'real' truth?
A lot is subjective- as you said the term 'vampire' isn't in there, we're reading in these texts something that sounds like vampires we 'know'. But to me, vampires always have and always will be a metaphor for humanity, our needs, our giving and taking.
I love Mark Rein-Hagen's quote on the inside cover of his 'Vampire: The Masquerade' book "By becoming a monster, one learns what it is to be human." That line speaks volumes for my opinion on it. I think vampires are so parallel with plain old humans, that you can read anything about human interactions and find a vampiric theme, if that is what you are looking for.
I don't think the Book of Jude has anything to do with vampires.
I've read your profile, website, and other posts before... and it seems your agenda is to teach everyone that vampires have nothing to do with anything we know- but that is all about sex. Even if that were true... well damn it if it isn't back to humanity again.
UpirLikhyj,
I agree with your analysis of Biblical Vampires 100%.
"Some of the earliest evidence of Ritual Vampirism comes from Tartaria in Transylvania and stems to the fifth millennium BC. Remains of a human body were found buried in a fire pit along with clay tablets upon which were inscribed the names of the ’Sumerian’ god Enki and the ranking number of Father Anu. The language was subsequently termed ’proto-Sumerian’ and represented some of the earliest written artifacts yet to be found.
The descendants of these early vampires were the Sacred Ubaid Race who, one millennium later, settled Mesopotamia and founded the Anunnaki religion of the Sumerians in 3500 BC. Their Transylvanian ancestors were the Anunnaki Gods themselves.
Various suggestions have been proposed in an attempt to explain the origin and meaning of the word vampire. One recent suggestion was that it was applied to a group of ’Watchers’ (Seers - Derkesthai: Dragons) who had occupied a settlement near "lake Van", in Urartu - Armenia."

Thank you for your remarks; they are as welcome as they were a bit of surprise and are very much appreciated. I will have to take the time to review the link you provided. Unlike the poster before you who entirely disagreed with my earlier post... yet could provide nothing but his/her "feelings" in counter to same, you provided what appears to be most intriguing online evidence that I shall pursue. Thank you.
If vampires are to be truly sought and found in the Bible or anywhere else... it stands to reason we must first know what it is we are looking for. And as blood-sucking, crucifix-fearing, daylight-intolerant "Undead" revenants are most certainly not found in the original historical accounts (nor, for that matter, even modern Eastern European accounts of vampire activity), then anyone seeking such in the Bible or any other historical accounts is going to be sorely disappointed.

If I may, I am curious... if you have actually taken the time to truly peruse my rather in-depth profile page and the historical overview it provides, which is generously peppered with well-researched references, hyperlinks, and citations from primary and secondary source historical documentation on the topic of who and what the "Vampire" truly was... and arguably, therefore, still is... why is it that you are in such disagreement with it?
If the facts therein are as "subjective" as you say, I would think they would be quite easily and handily dismantled when faced with objective facts and evidences that contradict same. And yet... the only "evidence" you cite is an opinion voiced in "Vampire: the Masquerade."
While feelings are indeed "subjective" as you say, yet historical evidences and accounts are far less so. And the more any and all such accounts agree over the centuries, the more objective and compelling the resulting conclusions.
Of course, if "Vampire: the Masquerade" role-playing game is truly your source of information where vampires are concerned... well, small wonder then that we disagree.

The story of the Nephilim is chronicled more fully in the Book of Enoch (part of Ethiopian biblical canon). Enoch, as well as Jubilees, connects the origin of the Nephilim with the fallen angels, and in particular with the Grigori (watchers). Samyaza, an angel of high rank, is described as leading a rebel sect of angels in a descent to earth to have sexual intercourse with human females:
And it came to pass when the children of men had multiplied that in those days were born unto them beautiful and comely daughters. And the angels, the children of the heaven, saw and lusted after them, and said to one another: 'Come, let us choose us wives from among the children of men and beget us children.' And Semjaza, who was their leader, said unto them: 'I fear ye will not indeed agree to do this deed, and I alone shall have to pay the penalty of a great sin.' And they all answered him and said: 'Let us all swear an oath, and all bind ourselves by mutual imprecations not to abandon this plan but to do this thing.' Then sware they all together and bound themselves by mutual imprecations upon it. And they were in all two hundred; who descended in the days of Jared on the summit of Mount Hermon, and they called it Mount Hermon, because they had sworn and bound themselves by mutual imprecations upon it...
According to these texts, the fallen angels who begat the Nephilim were cast into Tartarus/Gehenna, a place of 'total darkness'. However, Jubilees also states that God granted ten percent of the disembodied spirits of the Nephilim to remain after the flood, as demons, to try to lead the human race astray (through idolatry, the occult, etc.) until the final Judgment.
In addition to Enoch, the Book of Jubilees (7:21-25) also states that ridding the Earth of these Nephilim was one of God's purposes for flooding the Earth in Noah's time. The Biblical reference to Noah being "perfect in his generations" may have referred to his having a clean, Nephilim-free bloodline, although it may be inferred that there was more diversity among his three daughters-in law.
These works describe the Nephilim as being evil giants.
There are also allusions to these descendants in the deuterocanonical books of Judith, Sirach, Baruch, 3 Maccabees, and Wisdom of Solomon.
Some individuals and groups, including the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, St. Augustine, John Calvin, and the Latter-day Saints, take the view of Genesis 6:2 that the "Angels" who fathered the Nephilim referred to certain human males from the lineage of Seth, who were called sons of God probably in reference to their being formerly in a covenantal relationship with Yahweh (cf. Deuteronomy 14:1; 32:5); according to these sources, these men had begun to pursue bodily interests, and so took wives of the daughters of men, i.e., those who were descended from Cain. Not only is this unequivocally stated in Ethiopian Orthodox versions of I Enoch and Jubilees, but this is also the view presented in a few extra-Biblical, yet ancient works, particularly the Conflict of Adam and Eve with Satan. In these sources, these offspring of Seth were said to have disobeyed God, by breeding with the Cainites and producing wicked children "who were all unlike", thus angering God into bringing about the Deluge.

Sounds more like aliens that were "seamed" as coming from heavens above directed as Nephilim=" the fallen ones/giants" in sacred text, mixed by intercourse with the "daughters of God" and made the hybrid race of watchers upon Earth ( with vampiric characteristics of Rephaim="the dead ones")...

I didn't use Vampire: The Masquerade as any sort of 'evidence', I posted a line from the person who wrote the book because it mirrors my own view on vampires and humanity.
And Revenous... you post a bunch of out of context metaphorical pieces of scripture. This is something that is just as dangerous as Fundamentalist witch burning stuff.
A majority of the verses have nothing to do with biblical vampires.
Wow.. Did i just read that last comment? What if is non-metaphorical bunch of out of context stuff?(not even beginning to debate why it is 'not' out of context, simply because the subject is: biblical vampires?; and I present passages that people would interpret as "absolute vampiric traits/behavior" within the book does it not make it suitable of presentation? k! o.O)>yet what makes you believe it is metaphoric? or makes it metaphoric by default, to begin with? If the scale is your belief system, or here-say of scientific/religious group that is not evidenced then the judgement is flawed> by that standards I could easily say that the vast amount of content in the bible are metaphoric> Which is not evident/un-evident to address as absolute authoritarian postulates.
Doru: who said it did? Dough! (yet the case could be debated by people who take this as possibility within the Bible interpretation) .
Less if the inclination of one is to be literal like many congregations within the Christian denominations, one can support this is as vampiric evidence same as those that hold that the bush of Moses story happened as a real event at the oration of the missions "God commanded".

A sentence or two could never be 'in context'. You need to post an entire story. And that's not what this forum is for anyway... you could read the whole thing yourself- then come to a conclusion based on knowing the whole background and setting for such mere sentences picked out of The Bible.

I think A sentence or two are simply brought information for audience interpretation and further discussion like people provide: videos, quotes, passages, and stories, to share and provoke further debate; evidenced as ~Doru~ replied that some of the things doesn't even abide to vampires and is true, and I believe i brought this for same purposes, Im fondly sorry this: which is not "in content" with "anything to do in this thread" was brought, I could only say if it was under those terms half of the things in every thread in VR would be "out of content"; It seams under you watch everything has to be accordingly you think is suitable, if so I wan't your judgement of every thread of the forums in VR that present things "out of content" to be straighten the same way. Yet what happened with the " Out of content METAPHORICAL pieces of scripture"?
RE:"A sentence or two could never be 'in context'. You need to post an entire story. And that's not what this forum is for anyway".
What is the forum for then? and who says is for "what" case?
*imagesinwords edit* I am saying this forum isn't for copying and pasting pages and pages of text into a post, you can create a link and hope the viewers read the whole thing... and who says? Well, I am I telling you that in my Administrator capacity.
RE:"you could read the whole thing yourself- then come to a conclusion based on knowing the whole background and setting for such mere sentences picked out of The Bible"
Thats the generic casing of holding a "fair" exchange of alleged hypothesis "researched by the pointer", then again it doesn't hold value on the "why" is placed, and for "what". I did not responded below the datum brought anything. Who says one has to take all those steps to put something "possibly in context" as for inspiration of responses in regards or countering it? - we have a Twister

Sometimes I am speaking in this forum as a member just getting involved in conversation, and sometimes as an Administrator. Try to see the difference, I believe I make it obvious. I have my own opinions like every other human being. I am not a forum Nazi. I don't copy an paste everyone's words and take jabs at all statements, I just make my own.
I stand by what I said about when you are talking about The Bible and you post a sentence or two from various parts of The Bible. It's not like any other book. You can't do that and attempt to make any sense of it. If you can't understand that, I can't help you with it.
I'd like to think that the first Biblical vampires were the Nephilim; they totally rebelled against God and his rules, and were considered unnatural, so why not break another of God's laws by drinking blood? Of course, this is from my total literary standpoint...
Revenous -
While it might initially appear that the story of the Nephilim and, more particularly that of their descendants, the Rephaim, are "chronicled more fully..." in the Ethiopic and Slavonic Books of Enoch and also that of Jubilees, this is not and simply cannot be the case at all. The huge gap of time separating these far later books from the events they claim to chronicle make it impossible.
Think about it...
Genesis was first written in approximately 1200 BCE whereas both Enoch and Jubilees were written a THOUSAND YEARS later. How could the authors of Enoch and/or Jubilees possibly claim to know the events they "chronicle," much less the word-for-word dialogues they pretend to recount, when they lived more than a thousand years after Genesis was written and probably thousands of years after the actual events they pretend to "chronicle"?
And then there are the irreconcilable contradictions found in Enoch such as, for example, when it first states that the fallen angels married their wives who bore them children... then later calls these same children "bastards" and "children of fornication"? If these angels (Nefilim) were married (as Genesis also stated they were), then their families were most certainly not "bastards" or the product of fornication. Additionally, Genesis never makes any mention of "Giants," much less cannibalistic practices and all else that the Book of Enoch suddenly comes up with out of thin air.
Instead, Enoch and the Jubilees accounts read like fanciful fiction that helped to fill in what Genesis had not. This was a common rabbinic practice for the many events found mentioned in the Bible yet were not well explained. All such writings were called midrashim and read and sounded almost identical in their highly imaginative reworkings and often lavish recountings of far-flung past Biblical events exactly like that found in Enoch and Jubilees. And none of which has any real historical value as "chronicles" of what they claim to recount.
Thus, the most anyone can say about Enoch and Jubilees is that they are both highly... imaginative. But factual or a more complete "chronicle" of what REALLY happened? Absolutely not.

The books of Judaism were destroyed when they were in captivity and rewritten supposedly from inspiration. The Old Testament is taken from that. The word Vampire is not Hebrew or Latin so you wouldn't see a word like that in the Bible. Some I know, such as Romanians borrow the vampir and use it. There are other words used but they aren't specific to the one creature. There is a whole lot of symbolism and people have written articles on some of it. It generally offends Christians so I am not going to mention it really but it does allude to the fact that there are those that drink blood but as I said they wouldn't have referred to them with a word like vampire. There are these type of beings all over known by other names...Eastern Europe does not have the corner on it. It is just one word for that sort of being. Since the Roma have been traced back to India and they brought in some the superstitions, I would suspect they have a variety of words for such a creature outside of Slavic. Even though the following mentions blood drinking there are also tales in countries of taking lifeforce, or the soul.
This is mostly why you won't find the word:
Vampires are mythological or folkloric beings who subsist by feeding on the life essence (generally in the form of blood) of living creatures. Although typically described as undead, a vampire could be a living person.[1][2][3][4][5][6]
In folkloric tales, undead vampires often visited loved ones and caused mischief or deaths in the neighbourhoods they inhabited when they were alive. They wore shrouds and were often described as bloated and of ruddy or dark countenance, markedly different from today's gaunt, pale vampire which dates from the early Nineteenth Century. Although vampiric entities have been recorded in most cultures, the term vampire was not popularised until the early 18th century, after an influx of vampire superstition into Western Europe from areas where vampire legends were frequent, such as the Balkans and Eastern Europe,[7] although local variants were also known by different names, such as vampir (вампир) in Serbia, vrykolakas in Greece and strigoi in Romania. This increased level of vampire superstition in Europe led to mass hysteria and in some cases resulted in corpses actually being staked and people being accused of vampirism.

Rewrtitten from inspiration?
Actually- it was 'oral tradition'. Back then, they practiced a skill called 'oral tradition' in which lengthy texts were memorized word for word. Yes, indeed, word for word. While slaves, they still found ways to maintain their Jewish identity- it was all they had, they weren't going to lose it.
You could go to any Jewish home, hundreds of miles in between, and they would be telling their stories word for word with zero variation. It's a practice rarely used today in our cushy life systems.
Oral tradition, oral culture and oral lore are messages or testimony transmitted orally from one generation to another. The messages or testimony are verbally transmitted in speech or song and may take the form, for example, of folktales, sayings, ballads, songs, or chants. In this way, it is possible for a society to transmit oral history, oral literature, oral law and other knowledges across generations without a writing system.
The thing is that anyone that reads the bible nowadays always interprets it differently.
I was a christian up until a few months ago, but I now follow my own religion and beliefs.
I did study the bible in a couple of my classes in the church, and for some reason, this made me learn that I do not agree with the bible or the faith at all, but, I do fully and completely believe in vampires- not the stereotype
As far as Kheprain caste...PSALMS 127.......gives me rest
Unless theLord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it;unless the LORD guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.(2) It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows;for so he gives his beloved sleep.(3) Behold, children are a heritage from the lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward.(4) Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of ones's youth.(5) Happy is the man who has a quiver full of them;they shall not be ashamed, but shall speak with their enemies in the gate.

Very important points made by you both, and a nice general overview that highlights actual academic aspects of this topic key. Congrats for offering all such.
One caveat, if I may:
While generally assumed by all that such type of beings are found worldwide, yet all such depends upon the definition of "vampire" as a bloodsucker / flesheater, which is not true. And then this only works if one is sloppy enough to feel comfortable lumping in as a "vampire" any and every conceivable nightmarish "buggaboo" and "ghostie" found in world folklore who might be believed drink blood or come back from the dead or eat flesh or ... well ... just about anything scary. By such sloppiness anything from zombies and poltergeists to even Frankenstein's monster and Freddy Kreuger are just as much "these types of beings" (vampires) as any other culture's unique revenants. So unless you're comfortable with the idea of... say... "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes" also being about vampires, too, then perhaps we ought not to be so quick to call just about any imagined creature with bloodlust a "vampire."
Point being... "vampires" are Slavic in origin because that is their origin and you cannot simply lump anything found worldwide as a type of "vampire" just because they might share a trait or two with the Eastern European "Vampire" (and, again, bloodsucking and/or bloodlust was never such a trait).
As for the Roma (Gypsies)... yes, they did indeed originated in India. Yet they reported contact with "vampires" only after their emigration to ... again ... Eastern Europe, which is why the originating term for these uniquely Slavic beings is... understandably... Slavic in origin (Upir, Vapir, Vampir). And the term itself was first coined in 1047 CE in or near Novgorod, Russia, hundreds and hundreds of years before they were ever accused of drinking blood. Again... vampires were known for an entirely different and singular trait that made them both the enemy of men and the equal of most women, for which trait they are still known even in modern times... in Slavic lands. Until only very recently after the proliferation of Western vampire movies and fictions, our version of the "vampire" would have appeared almost entirely foreign to anyone from Eastern Europe.
As late as the 1950s, men were still being arrested in places like Romania for emulating vampires not by trying to drink blood or kill people... but for attempting to mimic the one trait vampires were most notable: their "insatiable" sexual nature. These men were arrested for going around as "vampires" and seducing women under that pretense. And not one drop of blood was shed, much less drank by any of these self-stylized "vampires." It would never have occurred to them to do so as this was not what vampires did!
That's because, in their actual geographic areas of origin, vampires were never known as fanged bloodsuckers... but as insatiable lovers.
So if you truly do wish to find "vampires" in the Bible or in other culture's mythologies... seek out those beings with this one well-documented "vampire" trait, and you'll find them. And where the Bible is concerned... they are right there in Genesis 6:1-4 and thousands of years later in the earliest Christian communities, as attested to so abundantly in the Book of Jude, which was why the earliest Christian "love feasts" (the Agape) were originally highly sexual "communions," as Roman historians attested. Only the Book of Jude, however, explains why and how this occurred... the result of a sudden influx into their communities of descendants of the "fallen angels," ... in other words... "vampires."

I'm going to assume that Lilith may have a role in this forum question? Afterall if we were to take the legends from a time where there is only one God, then most believe she is the mother of vampires. Immortal.
Most know this already that she left the garden of Eden and therefore God's punishments apon Adam and Eve for disobeying, had no effect apon Lilith. I'm not sure where exactly it says that she is a vampire or why this would originate through her other than getting with the demonic at some point. If you think about it....if "God" was perfect good, there would be no evil or ill intentions apon it's creations. Perhaps a blend of the angelics, the immortals, became entwined with others that were already cast here, entwined with the demonic, because if the story of Lilith is correct, the demonic were already here at some point........which may explain how the vampiric came into play later on. It's just a hunch...a theory.....not something to take as true.
