♦ Note: Not all victims are bitten on the neck, as some vampires feed from the feet, between the breasts, over the heart, from the nipple, or between the eyes. Also, not all vampires need blood.
A lot of that is based off of fiction , and some things are just normal process of the body when decomposing: body is bloated, longer finger nail and hair( it is reported that after death the body still contiues to grow hair and nail for up to 2 months).
I own that book lol. I think its possible. Animals are known to have heightened senses and they can detect the paranormal.
sadly superstition and folklore have always been hand in hand, causing most people to see things that ar enot there or to create in their mind an explanation that is out fo the ordinary when they do not have the knowledge of the reason as of why this or that is hapening to a body or a neigboorhood.
The History Channel did a series on vampire folklore and discussed all the traits for vamps listed in this thread and then gave proper scientific explanation that wiped out virtually everything from growing hair and nails to blood in the corner of the corpse's mouth and the well-preserved cadavers.
It does seem that those that claim to be actual vampires stir clear of such definitions, and set characteristics, it seems more like they pick and choose their own adopted explainations.
From what I understand, it's not that your hair and nails that continue to grow, it's the skin shrinking back, making it appear to grow. Ew.
Oh Jamie....Eww in a real way my dear....lol.....But, there have been graves brought back to the surface that have shown extended growth....
But as I have pondered this for the moment.....I am curious of the physical atributes of this....How could that be medically possible?????
"People who know him/her 'frequently' die"
*Sarcastic chuckle* Does this mean the victims come back to "life" every now and then???
well if u take this from the movies it would sound right. In real life its not since vampires are only make believe
