Do you think that it is possible to be a wicca and a vampire? i mean vampire in the mortal yet drinks blood/psyche sense, not the mystical one.
I ask this question bearing in mind a few things. The wiccan code is "harm none", so would being a vampire with consenting partners class as harm? Also, how does the concept of vampirism relate to the earthly base of wicca...is it mutually exclusive?
I have considered myself a spiritual person for most of my life, but have only recently decided that wicca is the right religion for me. However i have also engaged in blood drinking in the past, and would do it again. I am wondering if anyone else has any experience with this dilemma or thoughts on the compatibility of the two.
Please no BS i am generally curious as to your thoughts.
Thanx
You can practice Wicca and be Wiccan and be vampiric in nautre.
I myself have been a Wiccan for nearly 8 winters officially now, psyvamps run in my family-- as does Wicca.
'Harm none, and do what Thou wilt' does not apply here. Feeding (from -Donors-) as well as psychically does -not- truly hurt anyone.
Consider this: does 'harm none' and the 'Rule of Three' apply to the meat you eat and the veggies you consume on a daily basis?
I would love to explore this with you. I have the same thoughts, and curiousities, about this, but I didn't know how to collect my thoughts enough to post.
VR family.... your thoughts??
It is like taking eggs from chickens-- what they give, they give out of their earthly function.
Survival, Love of the art of bloodletting, etc. Everyone has their own thoughts on the matter. Hopefully everyone makes sense of what I've said thus far.
I do not eat meat, and the veggies question actually vbothers me. If i could ask each palnt for permission and thank it i would happy lol but i am not a farmer so...
I am only just begining the wiccan path and so i am exploring how my lifestye and personality are changing due to my beliefs, giving up meat was a decision i took because i felt i could not condone taking life to feed myself, (i tell people i have gone off meat to avoid the BS) but i cannot get the vampirism thing straight in my head. I enjoy feeding from donors and i love te gothic lifestyle, it is just difficult to equate this with the flowing white robes and sunny persona of the stereotypical wiccan.
I'm what I'd like to call a... sunset Wiccan.
Not all Wicca is the flowing white robes-- there is an entire aspect of Wicca with darker connotations. No, I'm not saying 'all hail satan' bullshit a few 'witches' have been trying to pull as of late, especially on here, but Wiccans as a whole who prefer to pratice rights of the Moon as opposed to the Sun.
For some it is just their calling, others it's just much easier because of the area they live in, their still being in the 'broom closet' as it were, etc.
I have an Apple wand-- Janette and I talked about Her the other night, and She hails all the way from a craft faire in Ireland to come and be part of my altar-- and as of late since She's been lonely, my bed! A friend of mine, very sensative to the power the wand gives out is almost blinded by it's white energies, and yet feels I'm growing moreso with my darker aspects. (Practice makes perfect ringing true, I suppose.)
The fact is, you do -not- have to drop eatting meat-- I still do, just in smaller portions to get the protein I need.
Think of it this way: It lay down its life to feed you, and in the end, when you retunr to the soil you will do the same for the plants you eat now as a vegitarian.
Being a vampire doesn't have anything to do when it comes to practising Wicca, Brainwarnersgurl. I in fact, know many vampires who delve into the occult, or a have a firm belief in it. It's not like were different species lol Magic is a form of belief and way of life. Vampires seem to lead more towards the occult for the simple fact that we are blessed with supernatural talents ourselves. We can learn to hone these skills when practising magic. It's not a question of are you a vampire or are you a witch, you can be both -- why even seperate the two?
well i thuink we gots a good discussion goin on here so id like to put in my $2.50..lol
1:) Wicca had been brutally molested by those that think that witchcraft is either evil or that there is no dark aspects to the craft.. well theyre both wrong..lol
so i do not EVER associate with wicca ..lol and so far as what i DO do ..well i think of it as a nature based philosophy encompasing many different systems..lol so thats about alll for that..
2:) and as far as the do what thou wilt lest it harm none? well it means dont go out of your way to INTENTIONALLY hurt anyone or anything.. lol and thats about all i have to say about that
I agree Wraithlord. I myself do not follow the Wiccan relgion, but rather am an ecclectic witch. I draw from every source, and manifest all the information and knowledge from each one to creat my own set of beliefs and practises. I definitely do a lot of shadow work or nocturnal witchcraft so I don't stick to just one religion. I like the freedom that this presents me, I take what methods I like and adapt them to my own ways of doing things.
brianwarnersgurl, you are far too inferior to even comprehend the conversation in this thread. Go away.
* i thought a certain someone was barred?*
ok well i think that the problem comes because the evil tag has been branded too heavily on aspects of the occult, and my instincts are tainted with the superflous rubbish from society. i am glad that the general view is of donation not being harm, that was my biggest worry i think *hugs to all*
If you ever have doubts, feel free to take a step back, look it over and write out the pros and cons you -personally- feel.
The 'correct' answer for a many may be the incorrect and harmful to the few.
Any questions you might have, feel free to personally message me, dear. I'll be glad to answer them as a fully blessed, ecclectic Celt Wiccan.

Excellent. If I had to bare witness to anymore of her simpleton banter, I would find a way to delete it myself.
Xera,
Ok, a vegetarian. Fruits do not cause you the same concern as vegetablews, i hoope, because fruiting trees and plants give off their fruit in bounty, and the giving thereof does not cause the plant to perish. Whereas, vegetables, for the most part, they ARE the plant. I can understand your wishing their permission.
Feeding as a vampire, however, from a willing donor, not resulting in that donor's demise, would be most aking to fruit. The flow of his or her body given willingly, not causing his or her demise, to be replenished for future giftings - there is no conflict that I can see.
No harm, just sharing.
thankyou cancer, i am not normally a bitchy person but she was really annoying me...
*hugs req* thanks hun. it is good to talk about these things, most of wiccan friends are goths also but they are not into feeding at all, and do not know that i am, mainly because i do not need the crap that telling them would involve.
Some people just don't understand because of their intelligence level.
Others do not because they don't bother or care to.
it's how you are raised, I think.
Anytime, Xera, and I will try to curb the doggone typos. lol
*damned arthritis*
i guess drinking blood is not something everyone would be ito, and i respect that. so i dont feel the need to tell them i do it. i have a few non wiccan friends who do, so that is fine
I consider myself a Neo-Pagan, and yet I generally follow a lot of Wiccan basics. I agree that feeding isn't harmful because it's consensual. And because it's neccesary for survival...
I have had the same thoughts as Xera. Can one be wicca and vamp. Well after reading this here I feal that some of my questions are answered. (thats what forums are for)
I know that the true wicca spirit is "hurt no one" But what if you just chose the left hand path and not care for all the atributes. I dont have the words to explain this, tell me if you dont understand.
What I try to say is that you can practice wiccan without being as good as you are supose to be.
*Frustrated over bad English grrrrrr
you could be both, just know your limits. in my religion of choice, sinners are still christians.
in my belief system..we all fall short of the glory of god
looking into the statement harm none you find the answer
if the person is giving freely then there is no harm.
I believe what Andie is trying to say is look for all aspects, not just one side of it.
In that you'll find hwat is the truth to -you-, and in the end that's all that truly matters.
You can practice wicca, yes..
but i dunno with the vampire thingy...
well I'm sure you will find some good source
=)
How about this for a source?
I've been a practicing Wiccan for my entire life, as ong as I can remember. And then some, Im sure.
It is quite possible to be a "Vampire" AND a Wiccan at the same time. The Law of Three does not apply when practicing Vampirism with a CONSENTING PARTNER.
However, if the second party is unaware of your actions... your karma just got nailed like a side street hooka...
"Do what ye will, and harm ye none."
To be technical.
=)
Any more nifty ?'s.... lemme know.
Smooches, babies=)
I agree with Narakyndryn and so many others of you out there. I believe that you can indeed practiced both Wicca and be a Vampire at the same time. Like Nar so
eloquently put it, if you have someone who is willing to let you feed off of them, aka a donor, then you're in essence not harming them because they are aware of what will happen. I personally do believe that being both a Vampire and a Wiccan would not conflict with each other, but of course if there happen to be some conflicting issues then you can work through them however you see fit because if you really want to stay true to both then you'll inevitably find a way.
Thank you crimson_lust, for the note of interest. :)
Also, I use a bit of blood for certain rituals and charms I make, and have made in the past.
tend to shy from blood in ritual meself....hard to keep the potency of such things in ones own control, but that is just me,and I am neither an expert or right in many things
...i think it's much more natural to be a vampire and also catholic! >8) heheh.
...i think anything is possible if you really believe.
Well here are my two shiny pennies...........
I am a vampire, wiccan and nercomancer.
Its all about what you believe as an individual.
Nercomancy to me is part of my wiccan life, just another aspect. Death magick, spirit magick, and the like. If there is a white, grey and black magick, it falls in the grey area. But I don't think there are set areas.
As to being a vampire, I am both a drinker of blood and a psy......
If this fits me as a vampire/wiccan or a wiccan or whatever....you can only be what you feel you are. There are no set rules to that.
At least this is how I feel and think.
I agree with Nara, you can be both.I have been a witch for awhile but since i have released some excess baggage i am free to claim what i am.If you have a willing donor, partner, whatever then it is consentual.Especially(sp) with sharing of blood it needs to be very consentual and understood.I have yet to do it and i have been doing my research and asking people about it,when my partner and i are ready we will make that bond an i refuse to do it until we are both ready.
ooh now were havin fun..teehee
well more wise nuggets of wisdom fom an old "witch" ...me!!
1:) eating meat is good
2:) not eating meat is good too
3:) "asking permission" to eat a living being no matter what it is (animal/fruit/vegetable)
only "works" in a sense if you "harvested" it yourself ......(not bought from store)....you can still "ask" anyways but its more as a politeness than actual permission ..
4:) the "wicca" most people know is a new "bastardisation" that a man by ALexanderGardener AKA "gardenerian wicca" thought up and smushed together in the latter part of the 19th century...(OOOPS!).......
5:) the word "witch " is based on an ancient celtic word that means " wise...or wise one"
therefore both men and women by definition can be a witch (no such things as warlocks...or the like)
any other questions? message me :O)
nighty night
