Deep into the darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing,/Doubting...
-Edgar Allan Poe The Raven
How do you relate to this quote and/or how do you think this qutoe applies to other things(pick what you like for the other things)?
When i read this phrase i think of my life and my future. I stand staring into what i do not know and find that i wonder what it will be , fearing what could happen, and doubting my own sanity in this process. Is this darkness i stare into just my future. I think this is also applicilble to my past. Is what i remember real or have my senses decieved me. this is quite an uncomfortable though indeed. i am not 100% sure why, but for some reason i would say about 90 to 95 percent of my life is a complete blank. i try to remember what i have done, and the darkness comes. the things i have remember though seem to be riddled with that of which my mind has said is reeal but through others i have been able to confirm as false.
this quote from Poe is a great contemplation of our own sainty in this way.
are you staring into your past or simply a dream you had. what if the friends you've made are real people but what you know of them is wrong. can one trust his own senses when in the darkness.
When you look into the abyss the abyss also looks into you..
--Nietzsche
