I have never had a reading. But either I in a previous life, or if not I, then I know what happened to this child, for no apparent reason. Let's go with I was a small 3 year old male child that didn't make it off the Titanic. When I joined the service, I joined the Army. There is no way you can get me on a ship, anywhere on the ocean. The idea freaks me out. And for no acertainable reason, since a very young age, I have been drawn to the Titanic. Not any other ship disaster, or any other type of disaster for that matter. And this all started when at the age 3 (coincidence, maybe), I saw the black and white move, "A Night to Remember". An old movie about the sinking of the Titanic. Since then, I have walked that ship many times, felt the cold on my cheeks, heard people and music, smelled food being prepared.

No, I have never had a reading. I have read that there has been success with achieving the same goal through hypnosis. Psychiatrists have found links to claustrophobia, for example, in this life is actually a direct result from a trauma in a past life. More often than not, their moment of demise along with few other "milestone" memories.

I have never had a reading I have thought about it at times but have always backed away from it for one reason or another. I do know of at least 3 past lives that i have lived through.

I dont think you really need a reading to say that you have lived in a pass life. We have all been there before and we will at some stage remember them.

I don't think you need a reading to say you have lived in a past life either.

I dont believe so either most of the time they tell you what you already have told them

What type of person does a reading , in case someone is interested?

I have heard most recounts of past lives being done by hypnosis but I am very skeptical of that as they can possibly implant those images in your mind. Look at all the accounts of "therapists" who implanted images in people's minds to make them think that they were sexually abused by someone when they were young and called them "repressed memories".

I say no thank you to those methods and prefer to go from my dreams and what they have told me.

In this case I think your dreams are the best tool to use so to speak. I wouldn't trust a hypnotist at all.

The use of an establish belief (Rencarnation) to attract clients to a clinical session, that is a questionable practice to me, and many practicing phycologist agree. There is a greater risk of false memories. Some of the same potential problems with role playing games actually.
Being ones own past life guide can be a personal exercise, but spending 45 to 50 bucks a session.. no thanks, I would rather read a historical book and place myself in it as a character.

There are books on recarnation. They have seen children return to a area that reconized as living there. They would tell the history of the place and it was looked up and proven.

There are readings done by mediums I myself prefer not to go back in my past life...this one has had it own hell.

Over looking my present life, and the Luggage I struggle with, takes a higher priority in my life then any possible past life.

I will Amen that Dabbler. We all have so much stuff nowadays to deal with that looking into a past life just isn't a high priority for most or the ones who do, do it mainly for entertainment. I guess if it was really affecting my everyday life then I would try to see what happened in my past life that it has to come back and haunt me now.

As I do my Resume, I am drawn back to my interaction with career counselors, and I think I should have paid better attention back then. That longing for guidance, is a real strong thing, and I think past life regressionalist know this,and they are banking on others that seek it as well. Those that have a hard time reviewing their actual current past, for flaws and abandoned deveplopment.

With what you said Dab makes me wonder if I should post this response as a whole new thread...but based on what you just said do you think that past life regressionalist can possibly help with things such as amnesia, short term memory loss or even Alzheimer's?

Reconstructive memory is already an actual clinical practice. pass life regression and resolution is already a practice. The coarses for such practices are more defined and require a degree (unlike past life regression. Past life regression has no presented application.. I have yet to have a past life regessionalist tell me what benifits I can expect from their practice, it seems they wait until after you undergo a session to tell one what they got out of the process. Stepping to, and reviewing "blacked out" areas of our actual past is not something people want to do to readily, to avoiding going back to unpleasent memories, that goodmemories may be lost in as well. is not easy... and i would want a qualified accountable clinic to do such things. The pop-up clinics of PLR leave something to be desired for such a task.

The way I have come to now my pass lives is via dreams, hearing things and by looking at photos. I think if you go to someone to find out they ask you questions and then they fill in te missing gaps. To me that isnt a reading.

I never had a reading done either.
But, I have visions of it.
I was bitten into a vampire at the age of 10.
Then later on in the future, I was killed in a fire.
I had two kids, a boy and a girl. Angel & Elizabeth.
On my gravestone, even though I died in a fire, it still showed my date as not dead.

Despite so many issues with people who lie which gives skeptics power, I believe we are connected in some form or another to past lives… mind you I cant remember what I did yesterday so don’t ask… just know I was hung.

I'm watching Oprah right now who is doing a show on it....a Doctor does it under hypnose.
A Yale scientist is on the show, who didn't believe in it until he hypnotise someone 25 years ago, who went so deep, started remembering past lives.

She said she has been reborn 83 times I think, and he asks "do you remember them" and she replies "I will when I need to."

I think that is how it should work. We remember as we need to. We will remember for some reason.

Sometimes I get a strong De Ja Vue feeling and I think it might have something to do with a past life... but I am not sure. Anything is possible in this arena.

Readings are what you wanna make out of them. They use what you have told them and they fill in the missing peaces.

well the whole key to a proper reading is not to tell them..
I know i was a little boy in England or there abouts in a past life..its weird knowing I was a boy at one time..oh and no one "told" me this..it was from an experience I had..

ahhh dont let your mind play with dreams like that because eventually you will talk yourself out of what could be a real experience.. dont think..KNOW..

In my case it came as a dream and I passed it off as such until I met someone who told me of my dream and at that point realized that is was a memory of a past life.

So yes take stock of your dreams and what they may be telling you.

I can remember mine..at least the most recent one..I can tell you how Idied where when , how I lived what Iwas and everything...i remember how I lvied and died...Weird huh?

I do not belive it is weird because i understand I to know about my past lifes i have been reborn at least 12 time from what i can remember and have dreamed about.

I remember one past life of mine, though I know I had a few.I was a thief and a rogue and generally didn't talk to people more than I had to. I traveled alot and had a beautiful tan-brown horse with a dark mane, and I wore alot of animal skin.I carried 2 daggers and was always watchful.
I know this because of strange memories that don't fir with this life and some scattered dreams.
I also have never had a psychic reading or anything of the sort. I just get pictures sometimes, like memories.

I know I've had past lives my mom does sudo readings I don't really want to get into what she does but here are the ones I know.

There the one I started dreaming about when I was a tottler. She died when she was about the age I am now she lived in the middle ages in an area that was highly populated. She killed people. She was paid to kill diffrent people she was extreamly untrusting (for ovious resons) and it seems Karma came back to her because she was then killed by one of the few people close to her. when I was a little kid I would have nightmares about her life and then subsiquent death.

I was a wanderin bard and thief once. he was a charmer. he would use wit and charm to draw people to him to gain there trust so he could rob them blind. I'm not positive on the time period of him.

Most of the past lives my mom has found are of people who strayed twords more illegal professions.

I have the feeling that I have had a few past lives though I have no idear if that is true or not because I have not been regressed, I would love to find if my feeling of being here before is correct or not.

yes, it's impossible that people remeber things that never lived them, if they remeber is because they lived now or in other past live.

I'm sorry but I just can't buy the past life/reincarnation thing. If everyone is reincarnated how do you explain the fact that there is more life on the planet every year? I will grant you there are things that have become extinct but the population growth of humans far exceeds what has been lost that way. If you watch a movie about king Arthur then dream you are a knight does that mean that you were a knight in a past life? I think not. A lot of people are afraid of things they've never done before but that's not proof of a past life either. Flying is a relatively new concept so blaming a persons fear of flying on a past life would not be very logical people have been afraid of it since flying began so it's not likely that that fear arose from past life. A more likely suspect would be that dreams of falling are very common almost universal. Does that mean that everyone has had a past life where they fell to their death? That would be impossible since there are more people now. More than likely what is viewed as past life memories are more than likely fragments of memories from an ancestor that has some how been carried through your genetic code. That would be much more logical than reincarnation. This could also help explain how animals pass instincts along.

In role playing dsometimes people click on some characters better then others, I find role playing and past life Ex. have a lot in common actually, I would suggest Role playing it is more socially benifitual and Cheaper.

I don't know about cheaper have you priced any RPG books lately? Very few RPGs can be played with 1 book. Most require at least 3. At $25 to $40 a pop that can add up fast. Then they get you to buy a bunch of supplements. After you buy all of those they "revise" they system and you have to start all over.

i be leave in past lives and i think the sprits that come back as some one else is here because we have to learn some thing before our sprits can fully cross over to the other side.

True the cost is accumulative for RPGs it is good to have the DM or GM stocked up. In Steve Jackson Games the prices have always been steady. Creative liscinse is always an option. I would rather do a "past life" Parlor party (for entertainment, and a mixer) then a clinical session.

I have regressed myself with a tape and recalled one past life of when I lived in a village. I was a man and had a family. I recall being on my deathbed with my family around me. I remember looking up and seeing the ceiling, made of basic and simplistic materials. But it was like I was beside myself too. Odd and hard to explain.

I had a channeler tell me that I was learning the lessons of 3 lives in this one. I wanted to speed things up to progress spiritually faster. Man, what was I thinking? It's not been easy.

I believe that i was Asian only because I can pick up on the Asian languages very easily and fast and they are hard languages
Now when it comes to Spanish which is really close to English I don't get it at all and i have tried. And I'm so fascinated with the culture's even more so than i am with anything to do with America, so i think i was Asian!

I don't believe it's possible to see your past life. As that's what they are .. PAST lives.

I feel that by at least having knowledge of our past life or lives we can learn from them, more than just fulfill some level of entertainment value for us. Past life can shape our present personalities and thought processes. I have studied this topic in detail, and I have always wanted to have a reading, but our dreams are more telling than what someone else could provide. My most recent past life was a flower child in the 60's. I feel as though I was at Woodstock and experienced the rain, the mud, and the great music. I have never physically been to Woodstock, I was not born until 71. I have a connection with that era that cannot be explained any other way. I just have not been able to find out what happened to me, but whatever it was, it was quick.

i have falled into wicca, and i find so many thinks people spend all there lives doing come as second nature to me. i had a reading one day and found out i have been a wiccan high priestess in many of my past lives.

The thing that gets my attention ois that people who shun Phycolgy flock to Past Life Regressionalist, that tells me that Past life regression does nothing to challenge the person undergoing the process, Is it not easier to fabricate a character then to actually review the things that are cauing current adverse behavior? I mean if I told you you where screwed up in a past life, would you come in again until I told you you where a King, or something, while I am on the topic, how about historical accuracy, shouldn't there be a researchable strand to past lives?

I still say that it's more likely that instead of a past life that it's an ancestral memory that's coded in the dna. Mathematically it just doesn't add up to be past lives. It's impossible for everyone to be reincarnated since there are more people every year. It's a proven fact that there are pieces of every single ancestor that we have coded into our dna. That is how they are able to determine who a persons parents are they can even do the same for grandparents and continue on back down the line. So it is highly plausible that fragments of ancestor's memories could be coded in there too. Who knows maybe one day they will have the technology through decoding your dna to watch your entire family history like a movie.

Blam Wolvie, solid post, I would find that being a well educated child in ones ansetory would trump any longing for past life regression, to know what ones family came through.. that is a significant development factor. Geneology is fascinating. I think past life regressionalist know this, and could even mix it in with other things to add appeal to their "craft"/pitch. I have found only warped psyco theripist in my skimming of this "clinical" alternative.

I've had dreams of past lives in times and places that aren't even imaginable. I've had many dreams that draw me to ancient Itlay and Greece.

I read an article where people that claimed to have past life cues from objects where given antiqued (not actual antique) items, they not only went so far as to state they where prompted to a past life by these items, a few even stated they possessed the items in a past life.

Like Role Playing, Past life "recover" is very attractive, and perhaps addictive.

I totally understand about not having a reading but clearly have been drawn to something...aka the Titanic...Mine however weird it is...i have been drawn to Egypt...I dont know why but I have...I even learned to read and write in hieroglyphics. Yes this means i was fluent in arabic....but this started when I was 5 years old. I dont know why the fascination with Egypt but maybe its related to that.....but I get excited over anything pertaining to that country!!! hehe!

Past lives. Good subject.

In this current day I believe that most of us experience deja vu. That is part of the greater past life experience. In a way we did something very similar before. Another time, another place.

When I was very young I would scribble a word often. That word I found out later on was actually a name.
Later on some of my dreams were very real. The smells the sounds. People talking in a different language. And that overwhelming sense of it being right.

There are things that give us clues to our past. Interests for one. Those little things that you're interested in, but doesn't actually match your interests so you keep it hushed. Then there are other things, material things for instance. I like antique things. But there are some that seem very familiar. Or those moments when some one is talking about or reading about part of history and it seems so familiar.

There is the subject called bleed over. A past life or lives has followed us with memories and knowings that are there.

I had a reading done one time many years ago. There was a lot of things going on and I needed answers. What it gave me was clarity. It told me things that I already knew, and in a way I took it to verify those things. I Now accept those things and consider my self privileged to know those things. and have those feelings.

What I find funny is when some one tell you that in a past life they were Cleopatra, Ghengis Khan, or George Washington. I know this much...I wasn't famous, or royalty. I was just a normal person who was just a commoner. And before that, In the only other that stands out I was just a soldier who died a horrible death.
