Would like to hear your thoughts on the Vampire Otherworld. Shamans are only able to travell to otherworlds if they believe they exist. Do you believe ?
Have you ever travelled to or experienced the vampire otherworld and what if any, influence do you think they are influencing modern vampirism?

Before i start sorry for the spelling mistakes .

The other world is documented in almost every major religion . The documentation of such experiences is vast if you care to research it . Shamanism and whichcraft are undeniably linked to practises of the more primitive cultures . I think there has been a distinct shift away from such things with the development of industry and more material values of modern society . However with the development of technologys ,science has also made massive progression , and the mindset to reason such things as vampires and other unexplaned phunomenon has been disregarded as myth . Confined to the vaults of history , and regarded as endulgences of a more primative mind set , that lacked more advanced reasoning ability , these things have been set aside . That is not to say they do not exist . With the onset of cinema and film the vampire legend , that has existed since the earliest recorded civilisation of man has been transformed into a vision of beauty and refinement , sympathetic of the aristocratic classess of a bygone era . I do belive however that the vampire has become an attraction to all those of a darker persuasion . That what society does not except has been downcast as something dark and sinister . I think we have the church and the Mallus Malficarum to thank for that in part . But people who do belive in whitchcraft and vampires , amongst other things have of course been intimidated by the massive , and have hidden what they percive to be real , to avoide riddicule and punishment , I think sites like this one alow people who have exsperienced the other world a sanctury . The vampire has become synonYmose with other worldly phunomenon , and now becomes not only something of fantasy portraied by modern cinima , but a very real vestige that can adapt to the many theorys of the metaphsical belifes of modern people . Psh vamps , Whitches , now all find common experience that can be linked to that of the more shamanic traditions of old . Yes i have experienced and yes they do exist . lol Leax

This would coincide with the ages of man IE the Golden Age, Bronze Age etc. Other worldy entities do exist and come into our realm on occasion. Such as the Unicorn, Dragon, Fae...And or whathaveyou.

The Vampire is no differant then any other metaphysical entity. Thus the "mara" is born as well. Spiritual vampire. A vampire that has reached its final death and now haunts from the other side.

The ambiguity of their claims depends on vague responses to attempt to " stump" those who seek clarity, once one sees how conveluted each subsiquent claim of vampires existing, and the degree if conviction.

Yeah, I loath that as well, I mean at least post something with a bit of merit to your convictions.

By the by ~Ravenous~ which thread were you talking about?

I made one called "the real meaning of a self proclaimed vampire" that will hopefully separate the sanguinarians with the folk and show people that vampire is one thing and human/sang lidestlyers is another thing apart, because people tend to say they are vampires here everywhere and other confuse what they really mean.

And when i say i get confused , I GET CONFUSED, haha if i could find a page i read like 2 days ago you could understand my point perfectly. I read this profile where the person said he/she was bitten by his/her mate, and was turned and aquired special abilities as well as a thrist for blood, and then he/she turn another person. I was like "For heaven sakes wth is this"... some claims that they were turned, other born vampire, other awakened one day vampire, other came from a past life and is in a new body vampire, and thats when i miss the train...and i think many people dont believe it because of that, and thats when everyone here fights over the same subject in every thread.

"However with the development of technologys ,science has also made massive progression , and the mindset to reason such things as vampires and other unexplaned phunomenon has been disregarded as myth"

........and you're sure there isn't a correlation here? People just decided that vampires, witches can't exist?

Or is it because we understand how the body works, we understand how the world works, and we're refined and established the scientific method? Nowadays we need something called "evidence" to believe something.

Our perceptions are tragically flawed, and that's when we're not experiencing medical issues, which can exacerbate the problem more. If you saw someone having a tonic-chlonic seizure, would you bring them to the priest for an exorcism, or would you bring them to the hospital for treatment? 150 years ago, your only choice was a priest, because we didn't understand seizures like we now do. Bit by bit, the supernatural is being replaced by the natural, despite the attempts of religion to hinder our progress and send us back to the Dark Ages. If you feel that such progress is a bad thing, then throw out your computer, never see a doctor again, stay away from pasteurized milk, destroy your TV, and burn your house down, because they are all the results of this progress.

To dabbler i,am sorry i didn,t mean to come across as smug , i really meant nothing by it . I,ve only owend a computer for a few months , this is the first forum i,ve ever been on i made a mistake sorry .

La6Muerte66

"we understand how the world works , and we,ve fefined and established the scientific method ? Nowadays we need something called "evidence" to belive in something ."

I was thinking of posting this as a new thead , but i,am not sure i can take much more of this forum stuff . I think it would fit in quite nicely here as a possible link between science and the metaphysical .Can the quantum theory of non-locality possibly support metaphysical phenomena such as extra-sensory perception , voodoo dolls ,of the Haitian -African peoples and teleportation ?.That was going to be the question , but it can also be used to support the theory of another unseen reality .

Interactions under Non-Local Reality.
1. The interaction does not diminish with distance .
2. It can act instantaneously ( faster than the speed of light .
3. It links up locations without crossing space .

"This means that in spite of the local appearances of phenomena , our world IS ACTUALLY SUPPORTED BY AN INVISIBLE REALITY which is unmediated and allows communication faster than light , even instantaneously ."

From book "Introducing Quantum Theory " J.P Mc Evoy and Oscar Zarate .

This invisible reality is the astral plane , theres no need to cross through space , because places can be linked by thought , Thought can also create things on this plane , it is a plane of emotions and thought . Not things that at this time can be quantified by science . I do belive it,s real and that science will soon be able acknowledge this .

Actually, no. It can't. Just because subatomic particles that were formed together at the same time can affect each other instantaneously over infinite distance (Quantum Entanglement) does NOT mean that this happens on a regular basis, nor that it can or does happen to entire bodies, which are composed of trillions of atoms. Much like the makers of "What the BLEEP Do We Know", you're taking an area of science that is not very well understood, and assuming that it accounts for phenomena that it simply can't.

"This invisible reality is the astral plane , theres no need to cross through space , because places can be linked by thought , Thought can also create things on this plane , it is a plane of emotions and thought . That's an awful leap of faith. This "invisible reality" is in all likeliness another spatial dimension as predicted by M-Theory. There's a problem with automatically assuming that they are one and the same: the dimensions have to be physically linked in order for the phenomenon to be explained by it. If there is a physical link, it must be able to be observed by science. This is why String Theorists believe that the extra spatial dimensions are smaller than we can currently measure. There's no other way to explain why we can't detect them. Your "astral plane" would have to be physically linked to this reality in order for it to be the "invisible reality" as described.

Now, the "tiny dimensions" hypothesis works to explain Quantum Entanglement (for me) because the infinitesimally small dimensions are supposed to lie on every point in space on this dimension, so that an infinite number of points in this dimension exist at the same one location in the others. So if two particles in this dimension exist at the same location in a higher spatial dimension, they can be affected instantaneously regardless of their 3-dimensional distance.

Also, things in these extra dimensions can be quantified by science. They cannot be observed or tested, but they certainly can be quantified with mathematical models.

As for these supernatural phenomena suddenly being "explained" by the possible existence of extra dimensions, we still have never objectively verified that they ever have been performed. Every single test EVER performed on ESP, teleportation, astral projection, etc. has shown that they do not work.

Assuming that "this is the astral plane" and automatically assigning characteristics to it because you simply don't understand it is a complete misuse of the scientific method. You have no evidence that the mechanism by which Quantum Entanglement works, yet you leap at the opportunity to grab hold of it as if you are the sole authority on the topic. Your faith is misplaced. Regardless of how badly you WANT it to be true, that doesn't make it any more true. Never once has faith taught us something that was later scientifically verified, and certainly never have faith and science gone head-to-head with faith ending up correct.

Faith taught us that the world is flat and covered by a crystal dome, in which were set the stars, planets, sun, and moon. When it was discovered that they were actually extraterrestrial objects, it was immediately assumed on faith that they orbited the Earth, which was obviously at the center of the Universe. When it was discovered that the planets revolve around the sun and not the Earth, it was challenged by the faithful (they were still wrong). It is still posited by the faithful that evolution is a lie, and that the Earth and all of its inhabitants were created, in present form, 6,000 years ago.

Science works by evidence FIRST. So again, your claims are entirely unevidenced, ungrounded, and unverifiable by any objective source.

Levi:

To answer your question...It never occurred to me to try. I've studied a bit of celtic style shamanism, and the idea of a vampire otherworld never even crossed my mind, even though they have appeared from time to time in dreams.

I might have to try now.
;)
