Ok there's been alot of talk about psi vamps here lately, and it has started me questioning myself. So in efforts to find the answer I turn my question to yall.

What makes a psi vamp a psi vamp?

I wonder cause I show carteristics of a "psi vamp" but I never considered myself one. i had a friend show me energy control and I picked it up extremely quickly. for instance I have the abilty to do such things as bost my phyisical power just because I wanted it to and when fighting against someone who uses energy I am able to absorbe it and you now add it to my self and I can do the other typical things with energy like imprinting on an object to change its charteristics and so forth. So i guess i want to know is. What is the line between being a psi vamp and i guess someone who I guess for lack of better words use chee? Or is there even a line?

not sure love..i only know how to move small objects..but that took me months of studying parapsychology and it tends to give me massive migraines because i dont keep up with the excersizes

I think maybe a psi vamp is basically what the title stands. A vampire that uses psycic powers such as telekineses, mind drain, telepothy maybe, you know the works.

Psi vamps are usually those that instead of draining blood drain life force, emotion, or energy.
They may or may not need to be in physical contact but proximity as with scent makes it more that they can consume.

I think many people could be psi vamps. Maybe it's not such a special unique thing.

Like some vampires they probrably used to be humans with psycic powers, and then when they turn into vampires they become a bit worse.

A psi vampire is also known as a nega-psychic.
This could be a person with such a powerful belief that there are no 6th+ senses, that they actually can cancel (or absorb) active psionic activity. Thereby reenforcing their beliefs because they NEVER experience ANYTHING of the paranormal. These people have never had a run of luck, good or bad. They have never had deja-vue. Never had an inkling that the phone was going to ring. Nothing.ever.
Other types do include people with an natural ability to suck the life energies out of other living creatures. This is not a consious decision.
Imagine a human Eeyore.

These are the people who were born with this ability that is uncontrolled. They suck the life out of every thing around.

Then there are those who have studied, practiced, and finally mastered the ability of energy manipulation. Reiki Masters use this ability to encourage healing. Psionic Vampires use this method to drain their prey of life energies. This can result in reduced ability to focus mentally, less resistant to illness, depression, anxiety, paranioa, and yes, even death.

Dont try to consider a book of rules. I think it would be much better to reflect on your own individual eaperiences and try to answer the question for yourself.

I think technically everyone can be a psy vamp at times. I don't think its anything special. But hey if you can "boost your physical power" any time you want you should get into powerlifting or ultimate fighting, I'm sure you'd be the best!

I've always been told that a psi vampire is one that feeds on other's physical and/or emotional energy. (making someone who is not a psi tired if you get 2 of them together with a non.) It's a little depressing, because one of my friends is not one and two of us that hung out, was. And we could not spend more than 2 hours with this person.

i suppose it is a certain ability to derive energies from a person or persons near you... whether by intention or not. I do not know however if this is a genetic condition or a learned one.

I also believe that just because you CAN feed off someone's energy, doesn't make you a psy vamp. Shouldn't it have something to do with NEEDING to feed off the energy to survive? Also, I don't think they do it all the time. Like they're not a drain on everyone all the time, only when they choose to feed.
