How many people feel they were born vampires?? What is your thoughts on being of natural birth and still ritualistically being turned?

I personally feel I was naturally born Psi Vampire.. However being turned or taking in by a vamp family would help to ease my mind. Learning about the vamp structure in its own society is not something your born with.

I am going to try to say this as delicately as possible considering my position on the subject as well as my "tude" regarding it as well...

There is no such term as the "awakening" process, when it regards the born vs turning status. Those of whom are revolving around the "vampire society/community" of roleplayers and or lifers seem to literally be stuck in a world that had been created by an idea or ideas throughout the 90's culture and or community of the whole "vampire fad/trend" that started with the almighty V:tm LARPing game designed by Whitewolf.

It eventually evolved into something more complicated and was plagurised by a group that got together and formed the so called "Long Black Veil" in New York City, headed by none other then Aaron Todd Hoyd who was supposedly proclaimed the "father" of the culture itself.

I will explain what this has to do with the "born vs turned" reality...

One can NEVER be made into something that they are not. This is virtually impossible, the human DNA will not allow such a process to happen... Changing the chromasomes within the DNA structure itself cannot "just" happen over night or within a short period of time, in fact... This kind of evolutionary process would take years, decades or even centuries.

As far as being born, this is a bit of a better concept to grasp and a hell of alot easier as well. Since the DNA would already be there within the creation of the embrio of the child, depending on which hereditary trades said child recieves from its parent(s), unless said genes skip certain generations. Then it would more then likely happen.

Furthermore, there really is no such thing as being "born" into any set stereotype whether it be "pychic/psi" vampire, or "sang/blood drinking" vampire. One cannot put a stereotype on hereditary traits. Since the term "Psi" cannot be proven within the medical field then it is quite easily discounted and would be considered a form of "roleplay" to the masses within society.

Now on the flip side, if we are discussing being actually "transformed" into said vampire vs being accepted by a "clique" or society of "vampire" then it could easily be discussed without bias answers prevailing at every corner.

If the individual does need a bit of "guidance" regarding their supposed attributes, this would be deemed part of the growth process. But, if the individual were in fact "born" into the hereditary traits of "put name here" then those attributes may come as instinctual to said individual. So the only thing they may learn from the acceptance is "put cliche here."

Like I said, I tried to put it as delicately as possible, since I usually have a distinctive "tude" regarding this subject. Just remember that I am only one individual stating his "speculative" perspective regarding this subject and said answer/post should not be taken as the "be all end all" by any means.

Yes to both of them. I disagree partly on what the previous post shed to an extent, but to each their own conception of being whatever they wish to call themselves, As for the change in regards of turning; it can be performed in terms of transfusion of blood and ritualistic procedure.

Now ~IlLuminaria~ your getting into the semantics of spirituality. Anyone can say that during a ritualistic endeavor that a change may become present according to their own perception of what ritual took place.

I am not sure if the poster of this thread ment through "ritual" or spiritual assertion alone, but that is another state of mind nonetheless. Thus would be deemed as yet another "excuse" for claiming the participant as "vampire."

Come now people, start thinking with your head and not with what roleplayers deem as "worthy" on said topics. Is the nature of the vampire truly caught in a tidal wave of RPG? This is getting old really fast.

(Continued from last post)

Blood transfusion?? And I took you for an intelligent and realistic individual ~IlLuminaria~. The only way blood transfusion actually works in changing the individual into any sort of mythological being IE the "vampire" is movie based. Then we would be getting into the "Anne Rice" popularity of how the vampire is created.

Blood transfusion in reality is scientifically based on the individual being medically involved in ex-nguination and needs said transfusion in order to survive. The proper blood type would be physically nessessary for the survival to work and it actually involves a life and death scenerio... Not ment for RPG purposes, but medical fact.

In my perspective, if this thread is going to be taken seriously, we all need to put our RPG fantasies aside and concentrate on the reality of the post regarding Born vs made. Unless this thread is based on the almighty "roleplayers realm" called the vampire community as previously speculated in my earlier post.

Is reasonable to conclude that- in your limit of things, perhaps knowledge in this case, is perfectly natural so I wont broad in any of the expansion of this matters, what productive can be extracted from this kind of "concrete" assertion of your basis in prejudging without further analysis of subject, but is natural, only a visit could clear a ignorant posture worthless of knowledge in acquisition. As for the poster, I can repeat the "delusional if not less sensational" response I shed, and remains the same.

I can see and understand both sides of what is being said and i do agree that there are those whom are in a confusion to what is "real" and what is "not" based on either what we're taught by others to be real, or feel to be true, or have experienced in some form.

I fear this will always be an issue because there are so many of us that agree and disagree how vampirism works for one, but not for the other.

Trying to explain to someone how I am human is difficult enough to me because i'm sure by explaining how i was born, what things i can do mentally....may make me sound as if i am human but maybe a little more than that too, but the fact is, i am.

What if there are those out there that possess say some kind of DNA structure that made them a little more unique? What if their DNA could transform the blood of a human? Would that idea not be logical or acceptable? What if these people choose to be very picky about whom they reveal to themselves? Could they not exist?

For the skeptics.......why couldn't they exist?

Of all the lifeforms in the world, the strange creatures we see and even don't see........how can one rule this out?

Basically i BELIEVE (and yes most beliefs do not have any foundation to stand on sometimes ) that vampires in general can possibly be made different ways.

To some vampires do not exist at all and well i can't say i blame their viewpoints either.

However i know many types of vampires and crossed paths with those that consider themselves real vampires. Such as say an electic rogue psychic vampire, an few old soul vampires that remember their past lives and even an old language that may be mostly kept secretly to themselves, and your sangs that enjoy the pranic energies, and the empaths. Are there more vampiric types than that? Sure why not.

Basically we're all vampires in some form. We all need to feed, we all get hungry and horny. So why can't everyone be a vampire?

Sorry for such a long post.......lol

I respond: Once again, you seem to have some what of a "grudge" against my writing... Let me see if I can put this delicately enough...

My limit of things? You know nothing of any "limits" that I have nor the knowledge I have retained from the research that I have done, do NOT challenge my knowledge in presuming that I am stupid and unlearned in the ways of any venue.

I do have your "concrete" evidence, as it is very well documented throughout the last two decades of the whimsical roleplayers and the like that take themselves too far. Most of those "kids" out there that think they are something that they are not... Books that assert my point such as Konstantio's vampire book(s). I have read several references about debunking the vampire as well as have had very long conversations with individuals in the supposed "vampire community" nation wide within the last two decades, as well as have a following of sorts within said "community" for the sake my own studies.

You think you have knowledge regarding this area and yet you do not bring it aboard for any sort of conjecture or rebuttle. I dont take offense to your "insult(s)" but instead, I laugh at them. Since you seem to be yet another source of "information" that alludes to roleplayers fantasies.

After thought: You dont know me from Adam, so I suggest that instead of trying to instill a bit of negative emotions from me, you provide your own sources of information that could infact prove my studies wrong.

I think most on this site may agree with my posts, that most of what is said is "roleplay" and taken into a certain context, does insult those who have forgotten about reality since their subconsious states require it on a regular basis, that they are manipulated by their own merits into believing that they are in fact "vampire." That there is enough sources of "proof" positive evidence to suggest that my posts are very accurate and beyond a bit of contestation.

Final note: I will contest until the end of time that the "awakening" is in fact a roleplay term for those individuals who do not have a correct definition for what they seem to be going through on a spiritual level. I would call the correct definition Spiritual Ascension. Learn it, becuase it has absolutely nothing to do with the vampire itself. Though one of the darker roads down the ascension path is through vampirism, but this is personal choice and does not hold any merit when it comes to the ascension process... As it is just a way to manipulate the mind into thinking that they might be becoming something a bit darker then themselves because thats what they crave the most. Ascension was never about darkness... But about enlightenment and the knowledge retained from it.

But that is a differant topic and thread altogether.

What i think is funny is that there are people that are so dead set on telling people what is "real" and "not real" about vampirism based on their own enlightenment of things and preach it as if they're on some kind of podem telling people this is how it is , when really none of us have actually seen anything more than mere words. I tend to avoid the preachers. I listen, but i don't have to agree with what's being said, for what is being said just may counteract with my OWN experiences of what is "real".

Ok so what if you did the research and formulated your own answers? Have you considered that there might be something else out there that others have experienced themselves that might make them NOT agree with what you believe?

I personally wouldn't boast myself in my own knowledges of things or preach them and tell everyone here that "ok this is how it is" since everyone has various answers and theories, a reason, a path of their own enlightenment of things that may come off differently for themselves and NOT for you.

Not everyone experiences the same things in life.

I would not say "most on this site" agrees with me. How do you know that? I don't know a lot of people on this site enough to make such bold claims to use it to promote others to my own viewpoint.

There are people here from all over the world that have their own research, their own answers, that probably don't have the balls to talk about it here for fear of being attacked by the so called "vampiric preachers".

Do you actually believe one can share anything from this kind of insolence & arrogance, studies of what? mingling with the 'roleplayers' itself wont give you anything but what you think you know, maybe your other source, which we know is a bit more congruent with "reality"; all I have to say their is worlds inside the world, Needless to say; if I can recall I never proclaimed such thing to begin with, so be careful how you prejudge before you make any "concrete" statements once again, One doesn't need to be something to know something, but it is careless to say, and if you want such contradictions of your studies find it in a subtle way, which I would lovely show you what I mean personally.

*Chuckles* Is it really insolence when an individual has a very broad perspective on a reality that others care not to discuss because the information from that perspective could put a damper on others so called speculative realities? I think the term "insolence" in this fashion would be considered "roleplay" for proving something wrong in the process, calling the roleplayers out on their convictions.

I may anger those who would take the "game" far too seriously. But this would be by their choice alone. So be it.

Very good ~Maximuspain~, but there is a huge differance between the culture, lifestyle and hereditary traits.

But even simple proof from the hereditary traits has yet to be accomplished firmly, and thus the arguement still prevails. I mean come now, the vampire cannot expect the world to believe that it actually exists through the aeons and still has yet to come up with the proper DNA triple helix coding...

Interesting debate.

So vvSoulshroudevv if one is not born and immediately baptized then there is no possible way they could ever become Christian later in life by becoming a re-born Christian.
They are simply ROLE-Playing Christians?

Isn't a made Vampire the same as such?

And if DNA is an issue, then it would also be contrite to say if you have mixed inheirited genes, then you can not be Italian, German, Hungarian, Romanian, etc. and so on.
Your just ROLE-playing out a heirtage birth rite?

I totally understand the concept of over active imaginations, but to deem that Vampires have no original heirtage or domination of previous existance other than make believe role-playing is to me the same as saying all nationalities and Bloodlines are nothing more than an over dramatic figment of role playing imagination as well.
Or that any American's not born here, can never be American, no way, no how, your just Role -Playng.
Don't confuse entertainment versions with real heirtage and descendants from which the name sake came from.

I understand what IlLuminaria is saying.

Where is the proof that one ever existed?
Is there any evidence of a real "Vampire"?
The Vampire is a made up fictional character!
Get that threw your skulls people.
The Human DNA would not recognize a supposed strand of Vampire DNA and so forth the immune system would destroy it.

You can't say it's can't happen when you just said they don't exist. You are contradicting yourself in your statements.

If you wanna post how vampires are not real you cannot say the blood of a vampire can't change the blood of a human because of whatever . That makes absolutely no sense to say!

If vampires DID have something about their DNA, some kind of enhancement by something unknown humanly, then sure it could!

It might sound too sci fi or far fetched but you can't say that the human body isn't capable of it. The human body is capable of many things unexplainable by MAN.

Variegate Porphyria (VP)
Erythropoietic Protoporphyria (EPP) or Protoporphyria

Porphyria, the Greek word for “purple”, is distinctive due it’s discoloration of the urine, often dark blue or purple in color. A victim of porphyria cannot produce heme, a major and vital component of red blood. Today, this disease is treatable with regular injections of heme into the body. However, as little as fifty years ago, this treatment was unavailable and the disease unknown. A common misconception was that ingesting another persons heme (or blood) would replenish one’s own supply, but recent studies have shown this concept completely false.

In the past, a porphyria sufferer would show symptoms that include:

Extreme sensitivity to sunlight
Sores and scars that break open and will not heal properly
Excessive hair growth
Tightening of skin around lips and gums (which would make the incisors more prominent)

This disease would likely cause the victim to only go out at night, in order to avoid the painful rays of the sun. In addition, while garlic stimulates the production of heme in a healthy person, it would only cause the symptoms of porphyria to become more painfully severe. Although vampire accounts of the past bear little resemblance to the dashing figure we romanticize today, these qualities may have contributed to our look at the vampire in film and fiction: pale skin, extended incisors, even the fear of the sun.

Sorvena- quite insightful post, I agree with your previous post, some individuals get harsh about others points without holding anything but their own conception of things, even if their are 'roleplayers' among the answers it seems they are assimilated with a slight tense of arrogance & prejudice without holding any clue of others standpoints. But is natural, I quite don't understand why the attack on others when is evident that is a open discussion, all points are welcomed, given that anyone claiming anything here is what they are irrational/rational in the visualization of others judgement, if so then everyone proclaiming as such is 'roleplayer' by default.

Thank you, very informative i say. Non of them are adherent in what I can tell about one, Of what I know: vampires don't burst in daylight, or detest it, scars heal rapidly, and the fangs is only out as required and they are not where people put them in movies and as trend style, is more evident in the usage, the eyes can change colors, and the hair can grow faster; but nothing excessively. But thank you for bringing it up as well, is very helpful for others acknowledgements,- myself included.

This is a touchy subject for a lot of people. At first, I thought I awakened as a vampire rather late and thereby was created due to a deep spiritual shredding of my energy body.

Now, referencing where I am at and looking at my past history, I can see where I have always had the traits and ability. Now I believe there is a stronger possibility I was born this way and am a vampire by birth, rather than created or turned by my circumstances.

I think, however, that there are valid points of view regarding each philosophy. Being turned however implies more of a choice than a critical situation into which one is born.

I was turned in November last year.

I am not a role player and do not play games and like MBK I thought blood drinking Vamps were a load of crap.

The real Vamps vetted me asking me loads of questions then gave me a Blood shot. I was very ill and lost 1/4 of my body weight over the next few weeks.

I could not sleep and began to notice very real tangible changes so I went to the Doctors. In 4 out of twenty blood tests it came back outside Human range.

As for whether I was always pre-disposed to being this way...yes I think so...most of their questions were about my Bloodline which is unusual...part Hugeno.

It is possible this is a Gene Switch which is activated by blood but recent events lead me to believe it has far more to do with the Dark Side.Fallingstar.

Isn't a made Vampire the same as such?"

I respond: I wouldn't consider religion as a good analogy since the "vampire" is not a religion. You seem to be using analogy in the wrong context... Try again.

As for "real" heritage, there are traces of heritage according to historical documentation as presented by ~Upir~ most times, but this information usually comes from sources such as texts from the "bible" and what not, and therefore most within society would declare such information as fictitious rather than fact.

Sources such as the Annunaki, who were said to be the Niphilim or fallen angels. Biblical translations anywho. Then we have conspiracy theory that states according to an author with the last name of ~Icke~ that theorized the origin of the vampire came from an advanced beings known as the watchers. The website presented here continues the theories of this conspiracy.

But, as much as the website I have sourced seems to make a bit of sense, I wouldn't put too much "faith" into it.

~IlLuminaria~ states: I quite don't understand why the attack on others when is evident that is a open discussion, all points are welcomed, given that anyone claiming anything here is what they are irrational/rational in the visualization of others judgement, if so then everyone proclaiming as such is 'roleplayer' by default."

You seem to misunderstand my directional posts. I present them as a clarification for further posting. Instigating any sort of judgement pertaining to the "roleplayer" is more for the benefit of feeding the thread and nothing more. I wish the members of the Rave would understand this concept.

Present what you feel is nessessary... It will be critisized as usual, but is that not what a debate is all about? I wouldn't take it so seriously, after all this is what the scholar is all about is it not?

~IlLuminaria~ states: "Non of them are adherent in what I can tell about one, Of what I know: vampires don't burst in daylight, or detest it, scars heal rapidly, and the fangs is only out as required and they are not where people put them in movies and as trend style, is more evident in the usage, the eyes can change colors, and the hair can grow faster; but nothing excessively. But thank you for bringing it up as well, is very helpful for others acknowledgements,- myself included."

I respond: Now we seem to have yet another debate on hand with what is presented here... As many would ask, what are your sources for said information or proof that this information is accurate? Since most within society would deem the above as just another description that outlines a point of view based on a "fantasy world." perspective. No, I am not discouraging nor discrediting the above, just laying the ground for more topic of discussion.

~RomaMarieNightWing~ states: "There are both. PureBloods=Born and Halfbreeds=Made."

I respond: *Chuckles* Whatever floats your boat... But all in all, this is still amongst the "roleplayers" realm of thought. But keep telling yourself that.

If there were true "purebloods and halfbreeds" within the world, then I would speculate that they would be "above" the food chain and thus would not continue about with their present standing in life, but would try to achieve a "higher ranking" amongst society. Such as more influence, more money, greater power... The usual. They would not be simple little "street kids" or twenty year olds claiming one way or the other and not have to stay within a little "coven" or whathaveyou to "learn the ways" of the vampire.

Once again, show some evidence that such "breeds" exist... But until that time, those claims will simply be speculative "fantasy" in the long run. Believe what you will if it brightens your day err night.

~FallingStar~ states: "I was turned in November last year.

It is possible this is a Gene Switch which is activated by blood but recent events lead me to believe it has far more to do with the Dark Side.Fallingstar."

I respond: You see, this is the exact B.S. I was describing... Come one people, quit with the roleplay already. I would think the poster of this thread would want some informative responses and not some B.S. monotany in this stage of the thread itself...

By the way... If you did go to the doctors and they concluded that the "tests" were claimed as "outside the human range" then it would be all over the news. So don't give us that crap. The media lives for crap like that... If you would, describe this supposed theory of what you would call the "dark side" and please give an informative response other then religious views and or night time extremes.

Some of us are more intelligent then just to ascribe to any post that has no real evaluation.

Ok for my 2 cents worth .. Unless you are truely vampire you have no business saying if you can be turned or if you are born this way . Because you wouldnt know ..
Too many people assume things because they dont understand . Because they have very closed minds .
But we do exist.
The role players .. keep playing ... but do not assume you know what you are talking about . Its as if I would say you believe in the wrong god because I dont worship him . But thats a totally different subject . Unless you have walked in our shoes .. like mine .. and FallingStar and a few others I know that are truely vampire .. please keep your opinion to yourself . We do not care what the humans think .....

One don't need to give any proof of claims in regards of convictions since this isn't a encyclopedia to begin with, or something needed to get proved to pass to the generic knowledge, is a general discussion thread not a scientific experiment, and is opened for others opinions on any given topic, in the given subject, we all have your fair view of the rest of the individuals you don't need to resonance your same ranting over and over; By far is highlighted consecutively and to certain level to see the same becomes irritant. If in your eyes is in fact roleplayers talking here,- then perhaps you should simply walk away the "delusional" conversation, since their is no merit in the discussion other than confabulants viewpoint by your reasonable judgement in idealization, then their is no prompt in the discussion in the conveyance of dismissing everyones claims by your scale, everyone can think what they want, and I believe everyone understand your side, now give some fair space.

*Chuckles* Once again I seem to have hit a cord within the human psychie... Irratation is a human emotion.

I am through with my "claiming" of anything... All information is within my profile if any member has a problem with the way(s) I post and or my convictions regarding thereof. Make your choice of whether or not I am what and or who I am based on said information.

As far as repetitious posts, These posts are not ment for the repeticity, but for defending my ground since I seem to have become a "target" and area of conversation. If I were not called out for my conclusions then I would not be so involved within this thread to begin with.

I can understand your frustration.

How about this idea? We're all vampires and we're definitely all born this way. We feed off each other and get each other 'going' in a way that gives us a high; rather we're angry, or happy with ourselves... and more times than not, it has nothing to do with blood. This thread is evidence of that, and this online community is a role model for it.

Now, if that's a bunch of bologna I just stated, then we can all agree we're still totally symbolic of the whole shabang, and it's an interesting perspective anyway :P

And finally, it is my opinion that there are indeed a ton of role players, and apart from them- there are people who are conscious of something totally different... and if they are the same as the rest of us, they're doing something purposefully that maybe the rest of us still all do on an involuntary level. Now that's an opinion, and doesn't mean I don't get where they are coming from and the reasons behind it. I get it because I feel the exact same way. And that either means I am one, or am in denial. Or, there could be another option- I could be ignorant :P Oh well... perspective. And I'd like to believe not, myself.

"*Chuckles* Once again I seem to have hit a cord within the human psychie... Irratation is a human emotion."

My reply-Did I ever said I was somehow out of the human classification? If I recall for the second time, I never proclaimed to be anything, I always expanded in terms of "In what i know" rhetoric ..

"I am through with my "claiming" of anything... All information is within my profile if any member has a problem with the way(s) I post and or my convictions regarding thereof. Make your choice of whether or not I am what and or who I am based on said information."

My reply- Yes, I do! If one,- is a roleplayer by proclamation, what makes you any different from the rest, making videos with: fake fangs, talking about psi-vampires and such, supporting a community of costume lovers, wearing a costume itself, and in all means giving no rational less authentic proof about what you are addressing in the discussion itself, just talking and saying "Im a vampire,- 'cause I am vampyr" like any of the others in here, talking in their viewpoints.

"As far as repetitious posts, These posts are not ment for the repeticity, but for defending my ground since I seem to have become a "target" and area of conversation. If I were not called out for my conclusions then I would not be so involved within this thread to begin with."

My reply-You haven't become a target as self-described, you have made a target to every response so far, with a not so welcoming tone in the replies, as you held the universal truth of something and others are lost in mysticism or fabula, playing halloween everyday; when the visualization reflects by itself in his "interview with vampire" or the "authentic identification" within his journal.

And once again, my point is validated by an instigated post.

Don't believe everything you see. I already told you why that interview was done. I wear no costumes. If an Australian leather hat, jean trench coat and gentlemans wear is considered costume, then this would be said for any gentleman that dresses in a tux. Or lady that wears a dress with broach, or child that wears pajamas for his/her bedtime. I see no stereotype for everyday/night wear.

This conclusion I said as well in part of the interview that they stereotyped me for, that part may have been cut out but I cannot remember.

You seem to have as much lack of tolerance as I do... Let us use it for more constructive purposes shall we?

The world may find out soon enough, after 2010.. The truth regarding "it all." I have no doubts.

Looking forward to see the reception of general public to what you speak of. Giving that- the organized groups/industries have achieved the primary goal- to expand the global ignorance in a "utopic" system which is obviously flawed by all means, clouding "it all" in conspiracy theories and alienated identification of authentic reality. Is this a crime or am I the only one who aspire for the collective?

I feel that even though naturally born I was awakened to my needs for blood and energy since I was 9 or 10. Nothing eve felt right, I always new more than I should about think and was aware of peoples feels and emotion even for long distances. As i got older my needs became more demanding. I was able to funnel energy to and from people and feed of the energy in a room. I awoke to being sanguine when I was 16 and was in a relationship with a much older European woman. She Should me how to feed and how to be her donor. I have lived my life that way ever since.

Anyone ever consider that Vampires could just be the next step in the evolution of man. We are just now seeing it and the gene is becoming more abundant because since 147 AD there have been writings on vampires... Now we see it all the time. Buts its hidden to the world because of fear from society.... I think you can be born, and i think Sire's are good for helping a newly discovered vampire confront in revealing themselves to themselves. The same with the awakened....... Vampire blood could be DNA altering, there is much to this world we don't understand. I hear stories all the time of strange occurrences involving a wakings and mundanes being made vampire. Anything is possible, so lets not rule it out....

Well done so far for making points all the way around....but I must ask, rather state: If one "is" anything, it is their truth or belief, therefore it is easly made clear: they where wither born this way or became this way through some form of enlightenment or change.

I am a born vampyre. I have always had trouble with batteries and other energy, I seem to suck the juice right out of things. Consequently I can't wear a watch, or talk on the cell phone too long because I ruin them.
Even the computer is a challenge, I just have to make sure I don't have too much contact. ( I have to touch it to type, but...).
I have cerebral epilepsy, and horrible migraines, and my neurologist insists it is due to my problem. I was born into this, as almost all of the women in my father's Irish side of his family have all had this problem for at least the last two hundred years. Of course back then there was no electricity or batteries, but there was always thunder, lightening, storms, the ocean, etc.

I am anemic, and they (Dr.s) always want to give me iron by IV, but a transfusion of real blood always works better.
The best and longest cure has always been to actually drink the blood. It tastes tangy, and a little acrid but so satisfying. I even worked for a blood bank as a phlebotomist, and blood lab. tech. I had to quit, it was too tempting, but I still work as a phlebotomist. It helps me to keep my urges under control.
Those female ancestors of mine were also sanguine healers and succubus. The Irish have always been a little blood thirsty...

This is getting into an area of heated debate. Like any other culture, people perceive themselves differently. When you are born you would have certain characteristics that would evolve over time just as any infant grows and learns but certain things are not exactly the same. I don't like the tag vampire or the feeding styles being used to describe them. I consider them and have always considered them inane.

The vampire "scene" has only been around what could be considered a short time. Less than my whole lifetime yet people cling to something that a minority of people have created. Some wanting to establish an organized culture with traditions and others just wanting to be King of the hill figuratively. Unfortunately there are factions with various beliefs and many who have done researches including myself and have all come up with different conclusions and some of them funny.

Made could come into this if your perspective comes out of certain areas of belief systems and born out of another but born as I said is a little misleading. One could go through their whole life and never come to the conclusion they were anything more than a little different. There is a culture and an internet that has given people information, not all the same I might add. I think the whole topic is moot really. Its like asking can you make a human being? They can be cloned and that is not allowed so is someone who some call vampire any different, is it only traits? This could be debated as well. I think this topic stems from people not realizing that most of what they know comes from books, movies and rpg. Even many who believe themselves to be vampirics emulate the fictional or historical vampires because that is what they actually wish to be. They roleplay by dress and actions, just how it is. It is a big influence. There are far more beliefs concerning how vampires came to be than these two as well and I think people just need to be and not get into this area that could be found offensive by some.

You need to define what you mean by vampire in the first place because I think most here are wanting corroboration of something that is purely fictional (IMHO). As for porphyria, it is relatively rare and wouldn't account for tens of thousands of people who believe they are vampires and more than likely want to be. What they want to be is like Anne Rice vampires, Stoker's Dracula or Twilight Vampires, etc. These are made up and even the idea of fangs came out of fiction. I will challenge anyone to show me a picture or come for a visit and let me see their fangs and I don't mean those made by fangsmiths, lol. They could be rooted but sharp canines are not fangs. I mean all this topic is going to do is cause a verbal brawl. I have never met Soulsshroude but I have friends who know him well and couldn't say I agree with everything he believes because we have walked different paths. I'm sure he is like me and gets tired of hearing things he knows is hokum from personal experience and knowledge he has attained. He does know what he is saying though and has a vested interest in the subject. He is an historian of sorts and doesn't talk out of his hat. Whether anyone is right about their beliefs is subject to query but I do know of some who have taken DNA tests with gene anomalies but even at that, what does it prove? How could you say that meant you were a vampire and then again how do you distinguish between superstition, myth and what is actually real and even if you could as an individual no one would believe it. This is how the world works about things that most people think don't exist. People reject what they don't want to believe so why try other than for personal knowledge? I see no benefit but talking in the area of theory I see no harm as long as everyone can concede they speak from their own personal experiences and nothing more. How can anyone be wrong on either side or take up sides when we have yet to conclusively prove anything and the skeptics are winning because without what they call "scientific proof," no amount of tracing through historical records and inuendo found within religious writings or anything else will prove that vampires exist and what their true nature might really be. Perhaps what we think is wrong might not be technically and both types exist. I personally fall into the hereditary area of belief as well as a spiritual connection. Beyond that why share with others who will say basically I am nuts, lol.

I think too many confuse the Hollywood fictional version with the realism of a Vampire.
I would suggest checking Our Prince's thread under main menu "What is a Vampire" before dismissing their existance as being overactive role playing or fictional.
Do not confuse the two.

What is fact or defined for one, isn't defined the same for another. No confusion about it really except the fact that you can't define them period. However i'm leaning more into Upir's definition of what one is.
I don't feel that being psychic, or empathic....defines one a vampire at all. I think it's how one USES those traits.

Ok, here is how I see it. There is no becoming a vampire. you either are or aren't one. People talk about "awakening" and it is totally misused. I was born a psy. Throughout my childhood I was very clingy and emotionally charged. I reacted to entering a room and feeling the energy in the room even though I did not understand what I was doing. Then as I got older and started being grounded as punishment I kept getting sick, feeling groggy, and no one understood why. One of the punishments of me being grounded was I was not allowed physical contact or affection. It wasn't til my mid teens that I started to realize a pattern to when I got sick. This is what you can call an awakening. But Vamps psy or sang are born not made. A made vampire is a Hollywood vampire.

One would be born like the PSI not made.
How ever In my line of study and field work I have found that certain Occult practices have opened the possibility.
To make a sanguinarian by possession of the person.
Or demon possession so I think this would be a possible awaking.

Living a vampire lifestyle doesn't make you a vampire. It makes you a POSER, a vampire wannabe. I could live a shaman lifestyle, that doesn't make me a shaman. It means i was learning the culture but spiritually you have to be OF it.
Having psychic abilities doesn't make you vampiric. There are others whom carry the same trait that doesn't call themselves vampiric at all.
People needing blood........more than likely are just feeding from the pranic side of things.

That's my viewpoint thus far.

I believe that no one in this world can say that something doesn't exist just because they have never seen one or been proven that one exists. We don't know even half of our world. Who's to say that things beyond us do not exist? I sure as hell can't say they don't or do. But then again I can't say that there really is a million dollar bill because I have never seen one. And for another matter we all know who we are at some point in time no one else can tell you you are not what you know you are.

A person cannot become a vampire with their symptoms and conditons. But a person can learn psychic vampirism and use it if they want. Your born with the problems vampires have and it isn't something thats to be desired. If you want to be a vampire there are alot of books on vampire magic and psychic vampirism that can teach you. I myself have just begun to learn them.

I am pretty certain that if you aren't a vampire already, a book isn't going to change that. Then that would make the person a "wannabe vampire" which is why they are seeking to be one in the first place. Vampire magick? Come on people wake up. Magic is just that. It isn't labeled. It's all mental and emotionally conjured from within. It doesn't have a label.

I dont believe in either of them.

I rather think it is more of what we want to be. If someone wants to be a something they become that. It isnt being born or changed.

We then get so far into it that we start saying we were born this way or we were changed.....nope.

It all becomes a Role playing game for us and thats how we live out our lives.

I wish I could change what I am, because sometimes it is damn painfull, like right now it is raining outside and there is an electrical storm, and my head feels ready to explode with the pressure of too much electric energy.
I take meds to try to change the outcome but I cannot. Sometime this evening I will inevitably have a cerebral siezure, which is the outcome of my eating too much energy. It is a shame, but not too much I can do about it. It is my nature. My Father's family are all the same. I am only an axample of one type of Vampyre. I am extremely sensative to the sun. I can be in it, but it causes me alot of pain. It makes for a lonley existense because no one really understands me, or what I go through to servive. You non-believers shouldn't be here if you think we are ajoke. We come here to get away from that sort of mentality.

Oh and sorry to go on about it, but those of us with the misfortune to have been shown to Dr.s must put up with their costant poking and prying. They have come up with a bone marrow cancer called myelodyslpasia. The Dr.s say i have this. They say my stemcells are damaged because I have a constant need for new blood due to my disorder. I won't tell you how painfull it can be when they want to take you apart to investigate the things about you they (the scientists)cannot understand. So just because they have givenen it a name now doesn't mean it is not still vamapyrism. They have been trying since the dawn of time to rationalize us away...go ahead and continue. I'll be here waiting to see what happens.

I'm sorry to hear about your pains however i don't see how any of that makes you a vampyre either. Just because humanity hasnt the technology to further explain why you are experiencing these dilemas doesn't mean we should tag the word "vampyre" on everything that ails us...

No ~Sorvena~ it does make her vamp(y)re in the roleplay or lifestyle aspect since she insists on spelling it that way.

Now to say that she is vamp(i)re is debatable as usual since she has not detailed signs alluding to such.

I am not a vampire, born or otherwise. I do not need blood to survive.

~Gothlaz~ States:

My response:

I do agree that the term "awakening" is completely misused and should not even be a definition for anything vampire. If anything should be used, it is spiritual awareness, or spiritual puberty. But if this would be the case, then the relevation of the "psi-vampire" another over used term; would become relevant. Society can come to terms with whatever they wish to call their supposed "conditions" but this does not mean they are what they claim to be.

There definitely needs to be a classification for spiritual puberty and the ties that go with it, the in's and out's of it as well as a basic background for what it is. Then the other half of the world wouldn't be so confused as to what to stereotype themselves for the sake of either peer reckognition or basic acceptance.
