Britain's Top 10 most haunted locations
With thousands of famous haunted sites, Britain is surely the ghost capital of the world. Why not visit one of the top 10 most haunted locations?
1. Highgate Cemetery, London
By night, Highgate Cemetery is like something out of a horror movie. Eerie crooked gravestones, headless angles covered in ivy, dark overgrown passages between the tombs, it's no wonder this is Britain's number one ghost spot. Despite its chilling atmosphere, by day Highgate Cemetery showcases some of the Britain's most spectacular Gothic architecture, offers fascinating guided tours and is also the burial place of Karl Marx.

Sadly, I suspect most places with a reputation of being haunted
have that reputation so that money can be made thru visits to said location. I will gladly look at proof of hauntings if such proof really existed. In the meantime, it is just plain fun for Halloween .

My personal favorite: The abandoned State Penitentiary of New Mexico.
There was a serious riot that took place there and lots of very dark things happened. People were hanged, burned to death, speared to death, beat and tortured to death during the infamous riot of 1980. It's a very long, very brutal story. I will just post a link:
SW Ghost Hunters- Hunt of the NM State Penitentiary
From the web site, "The most active areas of the prison are Cell Blocks 3, 4, the Tool room and the laundry room.
Cell Block 3 was the maximum security ward which also contains the Solitary confinement cell. Activity reported here includes unexplainable noises, doors that open and close by themselves, and lights that turn on and off without any apparent cause.
Cell block 4 was the area where the "snitches" and other prisoners held in protective custody were contained. Upon entering the cell block, there are marks on the floor where rioters used power tools to decapitate the snitches and several other inmates. Also visible are the outlines of scorch marks where other inmates were burned to death with propane cutting torches. Another inmate was hung from the upper tier of the cell block with sheets that had been tied together. The activity reported here is similar to those reported in Cell Block 3. Twenty three of the inmates that were murdered during the riot were killed in Cell Block 4.
The laundry was the site of several murders, although they occurred long before the riot of 1980. It is located in a labyrinth of corridors that lie underneath the prison. These corridors also link to the gas chamber, many mechanical rooms and the tool room where the inmates stole the propane torches and other tools that were used during the riots. Uneasy feelings and whispers are often reported down there as well as unusual human shaped shadows."

Never gone to one of their excursions, but I hear it's some spooky craziness.
I have encountered the paranormal once again the other night.
It was pretty funny actually. I was laying in bed and my lights came on, then off, then on. Finally I screamed turn the f**king light off, and they went off. Then the doors started slaming..So I got up and took it off the hinges. Then I layed back down and looked out my window and seen blinking lights. So I went out to see what it was and it lead me to a cave. I heard a baby crying...I kinda got annoyed and left.
Waverly Hills Hosp. In Kentucky, a TB hospital thats been closed down for years. My frds went there a year ago and every single picture they took had orbs of light in it.
Supposedly the front stoop of the Courthouse(pictures in portfolio)in my town is haunted by the ghost of a man that was shot to death there.Story has been on the History Channel...Welch,WVa
Never seen anything myself...and i have been through the front door countless times.
There is poltergeist activity in my house right now, but I'm hardly gonna give tours. That'll just make thing worse. I can only think of one way to make it stop, but my mother isn't going anywhere. It's undoubtedly her anger issues and stress that brought it on.
I love checking out haunted places. It's an inytigue we all search for...is there proof of life after death.
a graveyard in Emory,Virginia.....I've had a friend pass away from a crazy night. Him and I were fighting in it and all of a sudden we seen a dark shadow with wierd eyes (an elemental). It was heading for me and he got in the way so the damn thing killed my friend protecting me. I still hate myself everytime I go by there. I won't step foot into a graveyard now.
Ummm, superfreak, what you're stating sounds more like a bad horror movie or dream, not a real life account. sorry.
There are many haunted location in my area. Go to Google and use the keywords, "haunted, Buffalo, NY".
a good haunted location is in my home town of Louisville kentucky. Many of you have probably heard of Waverly Hills Sanatorium. The old TB hospital, nursing home, and insane asylum is filled from room to room with the gohst of the tourted souls that once roamed the halls. Anyone in the area should visit it and get a real good scare.
