Who believes in the concept of ascension as in evolving into living energy when you die rather than passing on to Heaven, Hell, or what other afterlife you may believe in? For those of you who don't understand, ascending is not the same as becoming a ghost. There are stories of those who have managed to ascend without dying. This is an ancient belief which is talk about greatly in the Stargate Universe. I would really like to hear your thoughts on the subject.

Ascension is a state of being, where you drop from all physical bindings of your life and engage to serve in terms of uplifting others into a conscience shift of their perception from a binding emotionally and psychological state into a rational perception in regards of our aspirations as a group and the ability to efectively accomplish it without a corrupted behavioral approach. There are other inclinations of ascension in different philosophies but as for heaven and hell is all in here and you make it by your decisions.

In my opinion the senses and movement as per senses and anlysis in mind in which the light is thrown on the direction by the cosncious is called ascension and other term in my opinion is the light is thrown from the body which make the direction or path or sphere or field is called the ascension.

this you can study in the case of blinds who can go with the help of other senses than eyes... it is the field is created which signal them back to chose the right path. I wish to know more about the word ascension or correct myself in this regard. please put more light on it...

Generally the light spilled from human's within to outside to get direction is called ascension.

This you can say one man is passing through black castle at night the castle without widows and many passages and through many rooms and halls he passes successfully without the help of external light. (for little fantassy of expression :- and the light is spilled from that person's body from within to out to lead him to the path)

In essence is not about turning into any mythical thing or impersonation, it is thinking outside yourself to bring the best of others without recurring into unnecessary behavioral pattern we are so used to see today and always, it doesn't mean you have yo go anywhere or look for anything to be ascended is all in the individual interest in whatever they love to do to shed light, sound alot like enlightment but is all inclusive in my reasoning. As for life after death scenario nobody concretely knows or experienced so to say something about it is remounting in a boul of theories that could be narrowed with studies of the whole spectrum.

I must say and stand firmly on my opinon that ascension is rising of the self or supreme self or inner self on the matter with getting direction by light thrown from within self.

And real ascension my opinion is walking self on lightless path or direction or the path with light spilled from person's within...

I think ascension is possible. If you've ever seen Stargate SG-1, ascension is a common thing in that show.

Star Gate is a TV show...not real life.

Ascension means different things to different people...though I don't agree with the "kinda like becoming a ghost" thing.

It basically means reaching a higher level of consciousness or ascending to a higher plane.

In science fiction it means you have reached a higher level in your life...reaching beyond your human form.

In The Bible it is when Jesus reaches a higher level.

You don't have to die to reach it...but you do have to have an open mind and think clearly.

Darkwolfman said it best. I feel many can reach this level of their inner self/being. Also that it means many different things to people. All heritages, religions etc. have their own interpetation of it.

As far as Ascension goes, I believe it is greatly possible. When we die, it is only our physical selves that reaches the end. Our souls live on, whether as another human, an animal, or some characteristic of nature.

Ascension can be many things.

-The aspect of going to heaven after death.
-The aspect of reincarnation after death and going into another life.
-Ascending to a higher plane after death

To each his/her own about ascension.

Native Americans use peyote to achieve their higher level of ascension in sweat lodges.To have spirit walks or vision quests...they don't have to "die" to achieve this.Many Buddhists meditate for hours to achieve a higher state of being.

The stargate ascension is delusional. It is made for the telly series alone and has nothing to do with the actual ascension process. Since I will not be taking this thread to a serious note, I will not cover true ascension.

I'm sorry but I actually agree with DarkWolfMan. SG-1 is a television show. Noted, a good show but still fictional nonetheless.

Okay, so one really knows what happens to you after you die, but why waste your whole life trying to answer that question.

Anyway, things like that, ascension, is an interesting concept that should probably stay in SG-1 and final fantasy.

Ascension, you mean, like the virgin May. IAW the "story, the Virgin Mary was ascended into heaven in body and soul. So, should we believe that any human being can be ascended into a different plane of existence? I don't think so that is possible. Stargate is just a show created to make fan and money.

I know that SG-1 is just a show just like many other shows and movies, yet people assocciate with them whether it be for a comparisons or think that everything they watch is also in reality happening...

interestingly in divine yoga or exercises or meditation, as lighter you are (going to kids stage) the ascension rise much from within you. it takes you to other planes.... few of those the planes which are full of visible aura and the entity you may meet on that plane... and all five element with different features you may find there influencing around you. bt ascension is most important... coz itgives you the stillness in those planes too. its like opposit of subconscious lock. in subconscious lock you are caged with your immense empition to handlingthethings and in ascension of meditation or relaxation, you are very lighter in your state with nearly no weight, this makes your easy trans and total freedom to make choice and do the in or out of that trans to or from planes... and easy maintainance of your celestial living without astonishing emotion about your ascension... its total bliss. it brings you still stillness in the trans or out of trans.

Television shows are there for the social boredom when one does not wish to venture out of their house. Sci-fi shows go along with the social boredom aspect. Just because a show is "based" on a term that has long been used on a metaphysical level, does not mean that said telly show actually shows the term on a real time basis. The writers of the script can create what ever kind of dogmatic approach to said term and turn it into any thing they deem nessessary for the marketing factor.

Never believe half of what you watch from regular daily telly shows, unless of course they are documentaries based on fact and not just storyline based.

Don't be so sure on that, stargate may be a scifi program but what if there is a stargate already and you don;t know it...

The show is based on a government project known as "Through the Looking Glass" but by no means does the real stargate have to do with the ascension process itself.

DJ if your interested in StarGates issues I suggest you start with ancient history and architectual structures as to how and why they were built.
There is close studies and observation of these monuments such as the Pyramids of Egypt due to such star alignment and galaxy alignments into other universes.

as for Ascension: anything is possible , no one truly knows what takes place after our bodies are done with us here on earth. Perhaps its as easy as your own belief in what takes place, then does!

A true example of Ascension without dying is Aleister Crowley. He was one of the greatest authors that ever lived. He is the most inspirational writer i have ever read. He wrote many books discussing his opinions on how to live life perfectly. One such, and probably his most notable, would have to be The Book of the Law. It has become recognized as a religion (Thelema) in some systems. His manner of thought proved, at least to me, that he was truly ascendant.

The idea of Ascension in various ways has been around a long time but it basically deals with reaching from a physical state to a higher realm of consciousness. It varies by various group philosophies.

It also can deal with the concept of humans directly entering heaven without dying such as Enoch.

I think these days most relate to these terms either from Eastern philosophies that have evolved from Transcendental Meditation, Theosophy or the "New Age".

Theosophy as in ascended masters, Blavatsky, Bailey, Prophet.

Ishayas Ascension that evolved from various things. A discipline to achieve a higher state of consciousness.

Basically it is raising one's vibration.

It's nothing new and because of the kind of interests people have now they seem to be examining these things on a fictional level in some tv shows. Their premise is just based on something else. There are games, novels, tv shows and movies examining many things of metaphysical thought at the moment. Doesn't make it bad to think about the ideas...those are valid ideas of many people...the general concept.

Going back to the original thread question, it was asked about ascending without actually dying first - not about the ascension process in general. I don't watch Star Gate so I can't refer to that TV show but as for the first:

I know of only two people that did this, both are mentioned in the old testament: Elijah and Melchizedek. Elijah's story is well stated but this second person is very much a mystery. Only a line or two is to be found. But he was more than important and respected by man and God if Abraham himself paid homage to him. I was ordained in his order as Catholic Priests are.

Info is available to both if you follow the New age stuff. Mother Mary's ascension story is only mention by the Church in later years.

This is all so new to me. I've never really looked into this kind of stuff. .
I'm really interested in it :)
