Dark greetings, my lovelies! Welcome to my little hidden corner on the Rave. My name is Melanie. I am in my late-twenties and a college student who is working on finishing her Bachelor’s degree at a very well-known university in Northwest Ohio. I am a Creative Writing major/Film minor; I’m an aspiring novelist and screenplay writer.

I am also the VERY proud ACM of The Coven of the Ancients. I am even more proud to say that I am the partner in crime to Lord Jens, who was the first person I became true friends with when I initially came to the site four years ago. I want to give a shout out to him and everyone else in my Ancients family, and to all of those in our alliances!

Oh, and for the record, I am a TAKEN WOMAN! I've been in a committed relationship for the past four months now, to my best guy friend that I met at college two years ago. I'm so happy to be with him!
*cough* Ahem...make that 7 months. :-)

I’ve been writing poetry for about 10 years and much of my recent work can be found within my journal. I am currently working on my first novel which is a Young Adult vampire story called “Tainted Blood” which is the first in a series that will probably end up being about five books long. I also have a new screenplay project for a film called "Daddy's Little Girls", and I am so excited about this new endeavor. Yes, I really enjoy writing!

Okay I guess I should share some more information about me huh? *ponders about where to begin*

I guess we’ll start with what brought me here to VR! Obviously I am fascinated by vampire lore.

It all started with “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” - the only TV series that I own on DVD in its entirety - and “Interview with the Vampire”.

After that I started to study them on my own by doing online research and studying the books.

I am also in awe of the spiritual realm and the afterlife. I have communicated with ghosts before but it is something I have not done in recent years only because for a while I was unable to psychically protect myself from the negative spirits that often came into contact with me. I will open a line of communication if the right situation calls for it, but not unless I feel confident enough that the spirit will not take control of me.

I was raised in a Roman Catholic family but started to study Wicca at the beginning of my twenties. I’ve studied various religious paths and consider myself to be spiritual moreso than religious. I also hold strong beliefs in the Celtic mythologies and mythology in general.

If I had to label myself I’d choose the phrase “eclectic Pagan”.

I believe in all the Gods and Goddesses but my main deity is the Roman Goddess Diana. She was the first to appear to me during a meditative state and it was this experience that told me I was on the path where I belonged, and I’ve never doubted that since!

I have been collecting crystals since 2005 and now have nearly 50 varieties of them. Now, I don’t just purchase these beautiful Earthly possessions because they’re aesthetically pleasing to the eye (although many of the ones I own are VERY pretty! hehe *wink*); I work with crystals because I believe in their healing energies. Judy Hall’s book “The Crystal Bible” is my go-to source for all things crystals and it helps me keep everything organized.

I will eventually be uploading my crystal journal to my journal here on VR so that you all can get a glimpse of what stones I work with and why they work best for me. I am always happy to talk about crystals so if you have any questions feel free to send me a message and I’ll answer inquiries to the best of my abilities. *smiles*

Also over the last four-five years I’ve started to study and practice the art of tarot reading. I currently own three decks, which I will take pictures of and post in my portfolio.

I don’t consider myself to be an expert in tarot reading by any means; however it is a skill that I am gaining more confidence in, and to me that’s all that counts!

Let’s see, what else is there for me to ramble about…OH! How about tattoos and piercings? *big cheesy grin* I personally have no more than my ear lobes pierced, and even then I rarely (if ever) wear earrings.

As of October 9, 2010, I branched out into the world of metal and I got my navel pierced! It was my birthday gift from my dear friend (and current college roommate) LoneWolfling. I love my belly ring, it makes me feel smexay. Haha!

I do have three tattoos that I am very proud of because each one of them holds a personal meaning for me.

^^The Shamrock on my arm is my first tattoo. I got this one on 1/28/07.

^^My 2nd tat that I got in Dec. of 2008, a tribute to my father who passed away from brain cancer in 2005. This pic was from while I was still being inked. :-D

My most recent tat that I got on 5/3/10. No, your eyes are not deceiving you - it is a silhouette of a moose on the outside of my left leg.

I am obsessed with music. I listen to anything and everything. Seriously, in my CD wallet I have albums that go from Hilary Duff to Eminem to Enya to Evanescence! *ducks from the tomatoes that are sure to be thrown at her* Haha! Okay, well, here’s a list of artists that I listen to on a fairly regular basis. I’m telling you, it’s crazy! As my friend Megan recently told me: “Mel I swear you have the most eclectic taste in music of anyone I know!”

What more can I say aboutLoneWolfling?This girl is nothing short of AMAZING, and even that is an understatement! We met at college and she quickly became one of my best friends there.
