The Ultimate Vampire Resource and Directory

I recently came across a site that listed a new type of vampire: sexual vampires. Where Sanguinarians feed off of blood and the energy contained within, and energy vamps feed off of the pranic energy, sexual vampires feed specifically off of the energy released during sex. Much as the succubi and incubi of legend. I was wondering if anyone has any more information on sexual vampires than the terse definition I got from www.religioustolerance.org

If I am correct an Incubi feed off women and a Succubi feeds off a male. They are both male and they do this in the subjects sleep.

I am not sure though. I would like to be refreshed so I am glad to see this posted. I would be happy to either be proved wrong or backed up with the rest of the details. Either way we all learn.

Succubi are Female...Incubi are males...The term vampire can be added to almost any of these catagories, or not...It is all about different forms of Energy exchanges...Either Forced or mutual agreed...

Actually, that's only partly correct. While succubi traditionally appear as female, and inchubi as male, the gender is transferrable between the two.

If you wish to get really technical...They really don't have gender at all...They aren't remotely human...

Succubi are commonly said to be demons that merely take the form of a woman to seduce men and then steal their energy. Incubi are said to take the form of men to take the virginity of young women and steal their energy. Both are considered vampiric demons. I forgot where I read that.

Now we are getting somewhere...The folklore always makes it more interesting....I was originally referring to their apperance...

I understood. Demons are generally genderless. They aren't physical beings, so they don't follow the same rules.

I feel we have sidetracked the original question...I really don't think the term sexual vampire would be the same thing as succubi/incubi...It's referring to something much different...

As far as I know, sexual vampires are just vampires who prefer to feed off of sexual energy.

I've seen the term sexual vampire thrown around in different ways...Some refer to the literal sense of the term...Like you said a vampire who feeds off sexual energy...But I would say most vampires would fall into that catagory...The other way I have seen it is sexual addicts trying to glorify their addiction...

There are a lot of theories about them most say they are myths .However some people say they aren't mtyhs at all cause of their expiriences.....

I've heard that most incubi/succubi start off as voluntary seductions, but as it progresses the demon starts to become more violent, especially if the victem begins to exist. I saw a couple of interviews from people claiming to be the victems of a "demon lover"

i would say these are psi vamps that simply feed more prominently off sexual energy.

sexual activity generates a lot of emotion and adrenaline and therefore a lot of energy. sexual energy is also used by many for castong and spellworking as well.

the physical phenomenon of incubi/succubi is actually a medically documented fact.

the incubus/succubus history originates in the second century C.E. Macrobius, a contemporary of ST Jerome writes of different categories and phenomenoae in drema in Commentary on the dream of Scipio much of the classification system he used was based on a similar system used by Artemidorus but he included two dark terms the nightmare (insomnium) and night apparitions (phantasma) he included the categories of incubus, a male demon which sexually affected female dreamers and the succubus, a seductive female demon who haunted the dreams of men.

sometimes when a dreamer is prematurely awakened combinations of sleep paralysis, sexual arousal during sleep and REM hallucinations can cause the Succubus or 'Old Hag'phenomenon which was so feared in the middle ages and is the basis for the experience.

Ok form what said so far is true Incubi and Succbi are genderless. They take the gender by choice. and so forth and so on But, on with the site. I have to read it in deapth but, Vampiric Demons is wht i would call them not a vampire

You don't suppose that the Succubi and Incubi could go after a vampire do you?

as someone mentioned...theres a lot of people who try to make excuses for being a nympho by claiming they need the energy derived from sex...
just as people will try to claim to be vampyres just to explain their sence of not having an idety that fits in with people.
now we have to remember that that the old lores were not always true, just like we know that hollywood versions of vampyres are not true....

Succubus/Incubus
This is a race in Europe that is sometimes considered a vampiric race. The general way they feed is by having sexual relations with the victim, exhausting them and, then feeding on the energy released during sex. They may enter homes uninvited and can take on the appearance of other persons. They will often visit the same victim more than once. The victim of a Succubus will experience the visits as dreams. The male version of a Succubus is an Incubus.

if what Enigma says is true, which i don't doubt, then i have nothing to worry about, not that i was or anything but just for my own future reference i guess

As some others have mentioned, I simply see a 'sexual vampire' as a psi vamp taking the energy from the act. I personally feel charged after sex, even if tired before hand. *shrugs* Doesn't mean I'm a 'psi/sexual' vampire, but could mean that I am.

But I'm still fairly uneducated/unawakened to alot of all of this as of yet.

In romanian family folktales, these both are known as "demons" ie; demonic spirits do not technically have just one sexual side they are meta or bi, most are even known to be able to procreate on their own hence "Strigoi Morti" the true name of a vampire in Romania/Russia.

They are just feeding off of energy not blood. People are trying to connect them with vampires due to the sexual aspect but they are unrelated.

Succubi/Incubi I've ever heard of were Demons as before mentioned. Of the descriptions I've read they lure married men or women into bed to damn their soul to hell. A bit diffrent from consuming blood fromtheir body.
