I do a lot of reading about vampires and in some of these books have come across Priculics. He was supposed to be a vampire in Wallachia. I believe these comes from Romanian folklore. Has anyone else read about Priculics? If so, is there any other information that you can share on the subject?

There doesn't appear to be a great deal, beyond some light discussion on various user groups and the odd mention here and there on individual websites.
There looks to be a little written in Romanian, but not much else.
The basic premise appears to be a Wallachian idea of were-vampire, or transforming vampire, or perhaps a vampire/werewolf mix, but this is all pure conjecture, based upon numerous uncredited works and the odd 19th century encyclopedia of paranormal entry.
The concept seems more likely to be derived from a smart wolf, or other large predator from the forests coming out to hunt people.
