A few members and myself have noticed that when searching our names in Google images, our photos and the such, profile pics, images on our profiles or portfolios, will come up.

It's a little bit of an unsettling feeling for the others I have spoke with, and was concerned if this could be a VR privacy issue, and if anything can be done to prevent this, as some photos may be copyright.

The few I have spoke with on it have become worried and started taking down their photos or art, and I thought this is something that should be brought into light.

I posted the wrong image above but as you can see it will come up with a LOT of other members photos when you dont even search for their specific name. The above photo Is of friends who have modeled for me, my own photos, or images on my profile.

also by searching your own name it comes up.

i think that is a major concern. i hope cancer does something about it

I love it - what did you expect? everyone knows that pictures even paragraphs form a profile can be google'd. better get use to it those pictures will be floating around in cyberspace for at least the next ten years. the rule is if you don't want you kids to see you like that (even if they aren't born yet) then don't post it.

It is the internet when you put your information out there it is out there for the whole internet. If your upset about it don't put pictures on the website.

This is a serious problem. We post the pics on here because we believed the privacy settings prevented stuff like this. I hope cancer can fix this, i mean if someone wants to put our images all over the web why dont they ask?

But this is outragous. a pic of me and my fiancee is on google and shouldnt be.

but the point is it's still a privacy issue, we should be at least a little bit safe from other ppl being able to see everything about us just by typing a name in and find links upon links to our journals and accounts...plus that means someone has been able to get those links-to-pix up and out there...

Not all websites have such ease in obtaining images though

there is a privacy policy saying that our info can not be disclosed if we put it on VR! so we shouldn't be able to find private pics on Google!!!

Your Vr name is listed in the URL of your portfolio. Of course your images are going to show up if you google your name.

E.g. a picture in my portfolio is listed as:

https://www.vampirerave.com/portfolio4.php?portfolio=Daire&des=13

Now, because my name Daire exists in the real world there are plenty of images shown in a google search that have nothing to do with me.

Now, if you take a name like "Mrsuperdeathvampirekillface" and you google that what do you think would happen?

I highly doubt those exact words will have ever been strung together anywhere else other than here. So the only thing google can show you is what it finds here.

How is this a problem?

Also I am going to close this thread now as it is not really relevant and it will only serve to list rumours as fact and spread said rumours around causing more trouble than it is worth.
