Yup... Vlad the Impaler vs Sun-Tzu....
my money is on Sun-Tzu.
:)
Vlad won :) it's hard to compete with his brutality. I hope they show it again when I can record it. I'm out of dvds right now :(

Go Vlad! I missed it. Have to catch this one on a repeat. I had a feeling he'd come out on top though.
id have bet it would have been sun tzu. im actually glad vlad won, but was it only his brutality that won the day, or better tactics?
~W~
I liked that weapon of vlads that just straight up cut the pig in half.
Interesting.
I wouldn't really classify Vlad Tepes as the 'deadliest warrior', however, as I am sure there are others more brutal then the Voivodes of Wallachia were.

Really? There was a very good reason the man was used as inspiration for the fictional character of Dracula. Best known for cruel punishments he imposed on his enemies, and trained in the warfare he led throughout his life.
Vlad would surely be the Deadliest Warrior, even if his own fighting was not as tatical or brutal. His power came from inspiring people to be this way, through the use of strategical fear.
Way to go, Vlad old buddy old pal. He'd a'been my pick, too. And that's not because the winner has already been determined. It's because he was flat out brutal.
I would think that overall either the Shaolins or the Ninja would win against all comers, in a guerilla warfare/ambush setting.
I have watched the program from time to time- it can be entertaining
If you have bittorrent, go to torrentz.com and you can find the "deadliest warrior" series there.
It is a little over 300meg file.
I was a little bias...
But I believe Sun Tzu should have won...
I think what made him lose was the fact that some feel Sun Tzu is just a myth... Even though "The Art of War" was greatly inspired by him.
Thats why i believe he didn't win... people might have responded with more of a "he didn't even exist" more than actually looking at how he obviously did outwit Vlad in strategies.
There were several reasons Vlad came out on top. Superior weapons played a key role. His ruthlessness and brutality that he also instilled in his troops. Vlad also employed psychological warfare that demoralized his opponents. Vlad's troops also had metal armor while Sun Tzu's had leather armor.
