I did receive an email from Ronan over the holidays.
Here is what he said:
"Here's the status of the CD and some more info about what happened. I had decided that rather than provide a simple compilation of tracks I wanted to edit together footage from the actual cruise to make it more of a memento. We filmed a great deal and asked Lucien to do the same so we could combine footage. Now, it should have been possible, immediately after the cruise, to edit this footage together but a constellation of problems at the same time left me no time before we had to head on the road again. We're moving studio as our old studio boss closed the complex we were housed in. The new studio, where I should have been doing my editing, was supposed to have been built by then but we discovered a fault in the floor which turned out to be water damage from last winter which meant the entire ground floor had to be replaced which delayed everything severely. From that point on, I've had tours almost concurrently and the first break I have is after December 29th when I can finally finish the edit and get the master off for production and then sent to you. Editing won't take long. It's just a matter of making sure I have all the bits and pieces in one place. I assure you honestly, I never intended for it to take this long, nor did I envisage how things would turn out in the weeks after the cruise, but circumstances have a habit of unexpectedly changing when you least want them to and this is the unfortunate result. I would ask that you let the passengers know that there were unavoidable circumstances that delayed the production but all will be resolved in January. You can be sure I want to DJ the (2008) cruise. 100%. I wouldn't miss it. "
I would say based on this.. everyone should have their Cd by late Feb.. Mid March.
Hooray for the CD and hooray for Ronan DJing next year!
Something to look forward to for the next few months!
(I know I sound ridiculously chipper about this, but the next few months are gonna be very stressful for me, so I'm trying to take joy wherever I can ;P )
You don't sound ridiculous! We are right there with you. Already sick of winter and on my second cold. What I would do to be ziplining right now in Belize (and I'm afraid of heights ) :)
An old professor of mine had a saying, "Don't believe anything you hear, and only half of what you see."
I'll be a believer when it is my hot little hands, then I shall be elated.
Until then, I continue to breath without holding my breath.
Amen, Dog!
That said, I'm still looking forward to it, and can't wait for DJing next year! We'll have to razz him, big-time! (Don't you think he owes us drinks?!!) Mmmm....
Except the drinks are now covered on this trip...
Have to think of something else.
I can't wait to get the CD...can't wait for Ronan to DJ again and can't wait to not have to budget for drinks!!!!!!
I think Ronan owes us all Sandinistas made with premium tequila! ;)

As to Ronan djing next cruise, is he going to take requests? He really didn't when he was djing this cruise and i'm sorry but I'm not really into alot of what he plays!
I second this question.
He played a lot more house sounds, which is fine once in a while, but a good mix of gothic, EBM, and industrial would be great.
I have already tried bothering Chad about requests as well.
On the 2007 Cruise, when Ronan DJ'd it really was an added bonus - He wasnt contracted to. So truly, he didnt have to take requests.
For 2008 he will be taking requests.. I have started a requests thread.
I listed some artist in the 2008 request post.
Check it out. I'll send some more later.
Ansi.... just an FYI Sandinista's are best with not premium tequila... middle of the road tequila..... just wait.... :-)
