I wanna enter the Halloween contest....buuuuuuuuut
If I create a graphic, I'd be using art from other artists (with credit and permission of course) so it wouldn't be my own work. :(
If I -could- enter, I'd enter one of these two images:
Sadly, I did not create the art itself. I pieced it together with scrap kits I did make. As always, I did purchase the rights to use the art. :D
If anything, you get to see pretty pictures? :D
Since I want more people to be aware of this, and help raise a stink....

China Glaze (yes, the nail polish company) has stolen artwork from an artist on dA and used it in their marketing for the Wicked collection.
Feel free to bitch.

Art theft isn't cool. Even more so when it's a big company that does it.

Random thought...
Has the mark of shame ever been handed out?
Just thinking it might be a good thing to see at some point in the (near) future.
Just a thought...off to bed for me! Being sick takes a lot out of a person.
COMMENTS
I heard he never actually designed it but the max block and overblock penalties is just as high though.
I was actually wondering the same thing
When it comes to actually shameful activity try to put yourself into the shoes of the giver of the mark. For a minute.
I know that there is(are?)one or two people(or more)whose antics appear to warrant some sort of action. No permanent action has been taken.
Why is that exactly?
With all of the mud slinging going on lately on this site; who is without fault? Yes someone started it and perpetuated it and kept building on it but is that person or persons the only ones whose behavior is shameful?
Just because people think they are righteous does not make them right when they say hateful vindictive things or do hateful vindictive things to people they find hateful and vindictive.
Who deserves the mark the most?
Sorry to lay that on you when you are sick. Feel better Abs.
Holy shitballs.
Wait a minute?
Ya'll are quoting the law up in here?
Sit down and let me explain a few thing to you.
Ya'll think that your basic civil rights are being stepped on by the admin right?
You're wrong. First of all, the thing you are claiming to be "infringed" are your civil liberties. And even then, you are wrong.
The Bill of Rights was drafted as a safeguard from a repeat of the kings actions while holding a strong central government. They were amended to the Constitution to appease the Anti-Federalists, who feared that basic human rights (Life, liberty, and property) would be denied if there was a strong central government. So we now have the first 10 amendments that guarantee certain rights. Rights that the government can't take away from you.
Private businesses can limit some of those. You may have the right to bear arms (or arm bears!) but guns are banned in many locations. Is that an infringement of your rights? Nope.
If you receive a service, regardless of if it's online, there are certain rules in place. They are call the Terms and Conditions.
Say you get something free from Walmart, but you don't like it. You can't just go back into the store and throw a fit and start fights and issues and then claim freedom of speech. You'd be arrested for disorderly conduct.
Same thing online. You don't like something and then throw a fit? Fine. But when your fits are breaking rules of the site, or the terms and conditions, action will be taken. You can claim free speech all you want, but if you hit that agree button when signing up, you are legally bound to follow the terms of that document. In the case of the Dark Network ToS, they can terminate your account at anytime they wish, for any reason. You can call foul all you want, but you agreed to that contract when signing up to the site. This includes suspending certain aspects of your profile. You don't own your account, VR does. You just rent a bit of space here.
XI. TERMINATION
You agree that VampireRave.com, in its sole discretion, may terminate your password or membership, and remove and discard any content within the Service, for any reason, including and without limitation, the lack of use, or if VampireRave.com believes that you have violated or acted inconsistently with the letter or spirit of the TOS. Any contracts, verbal or written or assumed, in conjunction with your deleted account and all its parts, at VampireRave.com's discretion, will be terminated as well. VampireRave.com may also in its sole discretion and at any time, discontinue providing the Service, or any part thereof, with or without notice. You agree that any termination of your access to the Service under any provision of this TOS may be effected without prior notice, and acknowledge and agree that VampireRave.com may immediately deactivate or delete your VampireRave.com membership and all related information and files. VampireRave.com reserves the right to bar any further access to such files or the Service. You agree that VampireRave.com shall not be liable to you or any third-party for any termination of your access to the Service.
What does all of this mean?
It means I had to sit through a huge lecture about civil rights/liberties, and how they work online, in Government class today and decided to put it to work when I got home.
tl;dr
Your rights aren't being infringed upon. Neither are your civil liberties. If you have a problem with how a private business is run, leave.
COMMENTS
That's the best analogy for this situation, the fact that guns are banned on certain locations.
I've said it too, but in different terms. We both know the system well, I know you've been an Acolyte like I am on other accounts, we both understand that the ToS is essentially a 'hold harmless' agreement but some apparently never got off of the "short bus".
I have had multiple accounts due to self deletion from the drama to hide who I was. I came back to my original after the great VR crash of 2008 and my original name was unlocked (angelkiller) and now I hold 2 accounts and I am proud of it. I read the TOS when I joined, I read the VR Manual as well. It states all the rules, and all the conditions for being a part of this site. It is a private buisness (as you said) and can have their own rules and shit, this isn't part of the government, so you can't go around saying they support anything. It states that admins will not get involved with member disputes, but can any one read anymore? Or at least take the time to read the TOS or the VR Manual? Nope, they think it's easier to just go around and do whatever.
I think you made a great point, and you also used an actual piece of the TOS (which, frankly i love) that states everything needed to know. If they can't understand it when it is written out for them like that, then they don't belong on the net.
Sorry this was so long.
