A day or so ago. I was out in the wild walking. Getting morning excercise before the heat hit the area. I walked be the Ford Dealership. 2025 Bronco's lined the front of the dealership. Wham. My face smashed into the sidewalk. Blood dipped down my face and hands. Instant shock. The hole in the sidewalk was about 24 inches deep. I had stepped into it. A lady walked up to me. Concern in her voice," can I help. Do you need an ambulance. " I declined just sitting on the ground dazed.
She went into the dealership for bandages. I was sitting at the edge of the driveway, feeling miserable and hurt.. A car started to turn in ,saw me. I had to get up, which I was not to sure I could do.
I stood up and waved the car through. The driver drove thru without word or acknowledgement. I stood there letting time slip by feeling the shock very slowly leave my body.
The lady finally came back with bandages. She escorted me to the washroom in the dealership. Looking in the mirror blood ran down my face from a split lip, cleaned that up, grit ground into my hands, washed out gingerly..
Thanked everyone for helping and continued walking back home. Lesson learned: Watch where you step.

A lesson? I call them reminders as we tend to forget over time not being careful. I too had a similar experience recently from pushing myself too hard though my hands just got skinned a bit.
