A Rain free Moment

23:53 Jun 29 2008
Times Read: 1,004

Just before I closed the backdoor, to the night,

once again: I breathed the light warm evening air,

smelling clean and sweet, the birdcall gentle and

musical; and the only other sound, is the sounds

of the squealing teen, further down the street.

Very clear, oh so vibrant, it tells a small story all its own as you imagine it in silence.

A Rainy Moment

23:15 Jun 29 2008
Times Read: 1,005

While it’s still as warm as it has been the last few days I stand at the back door, as the rainfalls, quite hard door, my eyes and mind open, as I watch a young Blackbird stand sentinel on top of the canted tiled roof; and listen to the droplets hit the densely packed leaves on the Beech-hedge, on the other side of the driveway, opposite where I stand.

pro-biotic ..

16:35 Jun 21 2008
Times Read: 1,022

I sit on the bench-seat I the back

garden , as the warming late afternoon

sun on my face, ensures I do so at peace

with the world, as I eat my peaches and

smooth-tasting, pro-biotic yoghurt.

Yep. “I’m alright Jack!”

..walking.

15:43 Jun 21 2008
Times Read: 1,026

A tree of twittering sparrows on

my right, flitted from one tree to

the next, till I’d walked down the

path and outta sight.

..seven minutes.

23:27 Jun 20 2008
Times Read: 1,038

Leg crooked, the base of her foot

upon the rail I sit upon, the girl

with the ponytail holds; as I write

in haste, so as not to waste, the time

I have left to wait for my train.

Summer Rain

14:38 Jun 11 2008
Times Read: 1,055

Wearing just a loose shirt and jeans, my bare feet upon the grass, as light summer rain, pitter-patters on my bare flesh. And, just ahead of me, a lady Blackbird pecks into the undergrowth beneath the Beech-hedge roots; as sparrows flit from one overhanging tree limb, to another. I breathe gently, a moment, then return to the house and my writing, while I wait, for the phone to ring.
