A hollow promise
Now passes your lips
Telling of good love
And long forgotten smiles
How many years ago
Have you promised this
And yet you come up empty
And leave me broken
How many of your words
Were hollow, holding nothing
Your smile holds no love
Your brown eyes no warmth
For you lost those long ago
When you tainted my good heart
Lost in this hollow world
A world of empty meaning
You stand there with a smile
And take the good heart's beating
I sit her looking in the mirror,
wondering what you are thinking
so far away from me.
I don't see my reflection tonight,
instead I see the reflection
of my longing heart.
A beautiful girl lost in thought.
Nothing to marr her wonderful face,
her lips full and painted prettily.
Her eyes shining that liquid sea green.
I see not a thing wrong, except...
she doesn't smile.
She's lost in her heart ache,
wanting you to hold her tight.
I see the face of
what I could look like.
Sadly it is marred
by the misery I feel.
