The Storm Is Coming

19:10 Aug 11 2025
Times Read: 9

In times of certain era no one can see what is really there in a lustrous city. But one is ready to destroy it all by creating an abomination to the world and society. Something that will cause destruction , chaos, death toll and desolation. This can never be blamed on a tool but the one who created it.
In the year 3045 the world had long changed and became divided in half. Half of it became dystopian and the other half became utopian. Some abandoned islands became a secret base for rebels or refugees who are seeking a new chance of life or a breather to get their bearings and ask for assistance. Others were people who should never have made it alive. They are known as traitors. The capital sin.

Malta was an island rich in history and strong culture. The language was mixed with Siculo-Arabic, Italian, Sicilian dialect and English. Very beautiful and old buildings and more had been added over the decades, centuries even historical places changed too and became more than just entertaining. Forget business , it became a hub for underhanded tactics to avoid taxes, embezzlements and fraud.

The new Maltese government was racist and fascist. It forcefully exiled all foreigners from the island, revoking citizenship even for those who had lived there for decades. The government aimed to keep only Maltese citizens, with Gozitans allowed to stay temporarily for work purposes.
While most Maltese citizens aren't racist, they do harbor some unease. They enjoy making friends and meeting new people, but beneath the surface, they feel a sense of discomfort. As much as they've benefited from the presence of foreigners, they can't shake the feeling that their country has changed beyond recognition. They feel like they're no longer the sole claimants to their homeland, and that outsiders have become an integral part of the landscape. Paradoxically, this makes the locals feel like outsiders in their own country.

After decades of political upheaval, the government's crackdown on dissent led to the removal of foreigners and the elimination of potential rebels who refused to leave. The regime's grip tightened further after a series of terrorist attacks, including the bombing of the Prime Minister's home, which claimed over 15 lives, and another devastating blast at a theatre where the President was attending a concert. The President was paralyzed in the attack and succumbed to his injuries months later. In the aftermath of these events, Malta plunged into martial law.

Chap 1

As time passed, Malta underwent rapid development, with towering skyscrapers replacing the antique buildings that once defined its beauty and culture. The island transformed into a utopia, but the same couldn't be said for Gozo. Gozo suffered greatly due to political greed, with the island becoming desolate and barren. The lush fields and vegetation vanished, leaving behind ruins and dust. Homes and buildings lay in disrepair, and finding basic necessities like food became a challenge. Those who remained lived in makeshift conditions, inhabiting broken cars, buses, and abandoned houses from which the owners had been forcibly evicted. Following the imposition of martial law, the Maltese government became increasingly dictatorial, claiming the land as their own under the guise of 'development.

On the desolate island of Gozo, a young boy took matters into his own hands. Instead of wallowing in despair, he chose to act. Using scraps and salvaged materials – refrigerators, freezers, geysers, car parts, and motorcycle components – he began building something. No one knew what he was creating, and to the public, he was just a carefree teenager, not much of a threat. However, beneath the surface, he possessed a remarkable skill: metallurgy. At just 15 years old, he had honed this craft to an exceptional level, thanks to the guidance of his neighbour, an old metallurgist.

The old man, a Pakistani engineer who had lived in Malta for 30 years, had been forced to start anew after his citizenship was revoked. His life had taken a tragic turn – his wife had left him in disappointment, and he was consumed by sorrow. Seeking revenge, he began creating explosives, including a biochemical bomb, which he sold to a mercenary from Paraguay. But the mercenary betrayed him, killing him after the transaction. The boy witnessed the entire scene from a ruined rooftop and, with great difficulty, buried the old man. Fueled by anger and a sense of injustice, the boy vowed that the world would pay for its wrongdoings...
