Chapter One

Cave of the Dragon’s Gold

Segment one: Chance meeting.

The floor is covered with so many colorful rugs it’s like walking on a rainbow. Though it looks like it’s covered with enough rugs to make anything sound proof, the music is still loud enough to make the floor vibrate. The walls are covered with lights, and streamers. I feel like I’m in another time zone. The room starts to spin as a Man Pushes Me to the floor as I look up I see an old friend-turned-enemy named Sam. Sam Holds out a hand to help me up and not to my surprise Cheriee was standing next to him watching for someone that had pushed me over.



“No thanks.” I say Angrily, “I don’t need your help”

“Just trying to Help you don’t have to be like that.” He said Getting angry.

“Yes I do And You don’t need to be here.”

“For your info I was invited.”



At this point We were screaming at each other and I was still on the floor

When I stand up next to Sam the entire building starts to shake. I see Ray another old friend of mine, weaving toward me, from a crossed the room as we saw and felt the whole room shaking. Gathering around each other to try to protect ourselves, the earth opens up and at that moment Everything went black.





Segment Two: Lost underground

“Heather, Heather!, Do you Know where we are” the voice piercing threw the fog surrounding my brain, as I slowly open first one eye then the other My brain registers the voice as Sam‘s.

“HEATHER!!”

“What?” I said as I slowly Stand up Bumping my head on a low hard surface.

“Do you have any clue as to ware we are?”

“Um,” I said threw a pounding head ache, “Some ware?” I asked

“Obviously We’re some ware Stupid?” Sam said as A light passed over us I could see he was scared and we were both hurt.

“Hey you guys I found them!” A voice coming from the beam of light.

threw the light I could see we were in a cave type place. Flat rocks formed the floor and walls but the ceiling was formed by jagged rocks that had collapsed over us Wood was scattered all over the place. A warm, dry place filled with sounds of dripping water.

“Heather what happened?” Sam said the hysteria escaping from his voice.

“I don’t know!, All I know is that we need to get out of here and get food and by the looks of you and I get medical help. Were not any place I’ve ever been before so I don’t know if we are or Are not in the house or basement.” I said getting agitated.

Normally I don’t get frustrated while talking with Sam but this time he was getting very close to getting A knuckle sandwich.

“Sam why are you so difficult to Shadow lately; I mean Heather?” Ray Asked starting to get red with embarrassment for calling me By my nickname.

“I don’t know; Maybe I don’t like getting trapped and then told we need Medical help.” He replied sarcastically.

“Its not her fault so quit taking it out on her.”

At this I bowed my head whispering “thanks” .

“Maybe You should spend all night thinking about how you could be nicer to her.” Nicole said taking no notice that I had said anything.

“Why should I?” Sam challenged.

“Because if you don’t ------”

He never finished his sentence Because right at that moment a Scream pierced the air. A scream that is bone chilling and Milk curling. A mix between a human dieing scream and a Animal dieing.

“Why does it do that; What ever it is?” I asked.

“Because the ghost of the dead want us to be silent or they’ll come and get us.” Sam Said.

“Sam Knock it off” Ray screamed.

I asked “Why are you sticking up for me?”

“Because you need Protection and---” Sam started to say But then finally Getting exploding I screamed.

“I can speak for myself, and I say I need no man’s protection against anything.”

“Yeah,” Sam smirked, “You don’t need a mans protection because of what you are”

“Don’t you dare!” I said gritting my teeth, my face turning red with fury.

“What is she then, Sam, since you seem to know?” Ray asked, annoyed with Sam and ignoring me once again.

“I’m nothing.” I spoke up tired of being ignored and talked about like I was elsewhere.



By this time someone had finally made a Fire and while Ray and Sam had a stare down every one sat down. Suddenly the shriek was louder and closer. I looked around from the fire light I could see that every one was white with terror and their expressions mixed between fear and Anger (Sam‘s was the anger).

“We need to keep moving” Ray finally said after a Weird silence.

“Yeah but to where?” came A voice I didn’t recognize, from the other side of the fire.



Buy this time I had located every one in there group. Terrence was sitting to my right, next to him was Sam, then came Ray, Chester, and then a face I didn‘t know, Then to my Right is Max in between Lance and Max is Ashley.

“We need more Wood” I said getting up.

“How or Where should I say Are you getting all this wood?” Max asked Looking around Hoping that I was Getting it Someplace not far off.

Darkness is Terrifying when you don’t know what’s out in it. Especially when you just woke up in it not remembering anything that has happened or how you ended up in the dark in the first place.



I can hear breathing, very heavy breathing, very close to me. Turning my head I look around to see nothingness.

“Hello!”

The sound cut through the air like a knife. Echoing off the walls in the distance I could not see.

“Is any one there?” I ask the blackness.

“Oooowwwww” the sound comes from my left.

“Who’s there? I asked feeling frightened.

“Me that’s who.” Came the husky voice.

“Who’s “ME”.” I ask

“Sam who are you?” the voice said.

“Heather” I said remembering my name and his. “Are you Okay?”

“Yeah but what happened?

“I can’t remember I thought you might know the answer to that question. Do you know where we are?”

“No” came the reply

“Well stay put I’ll come to you.”

“Okay but hurry I feel woozy”



Trying my best to stand I move around listening to him speak.



“I do remember a party I think it was. Where I was dancing and having a good time. Then I remember every one running but after that I can’t remember.” Sam’s voice said sounding sleepy and In pain.



Just as he finished I found him, or should I say Felt him.



“Can you stand?”

“I think so”



Helping Sam stand we make our way forward not really knowing where we’re going.



“Terra! … TERRA! Where are you?” I said opening my eyes I look around trying to find Terra.

“Where in the world am I?” I ask. Seeing the door to my room open I climb out of bed and walk around.

“Oh good your finally up.” Terra said coming into the room and seeing me out of bed.

“Terra where are we?” I ask looking closer at her.

“I have no clue but we’re not in Litchfield any more.” She said setting down the tray she was carrying and pointing to it. “you need to eat and then we’ll talk deal?”

“ok.” Eating the food I began to take a closer look around me and picked out the things that stood out.

“Ok what is it?” Terra Said seeing I was looking around.

“If we’re not in Litchfield ware are we? And why does this place look so old?” I said still clutching the bowl of food to my chest.



Terra also known as Heather Is 5’6”, A little on the plump side, Brown hair, Dark eyes showing no expression, has been my close friend and at times my Girlfriend since she moved to Litchfield 6 years ago when She was a sophomore and I a 8th grader.



“I already said I have no clue to ware we are and as to why this place looks old is because it is old. Some of the floors are missing and the door to the living room is off its hangings. Now I’ve been out around the area and found that there is no town or house for a long way. Now we are on the edge of a forest and there are dried planks near the barn so While your getting better I’ll…”

“GETTING BETTER!? What’s wrong with me am I sick?” I said

“As a matter of fact you are you have a high temp….”

“What!? How?” I was getting really nervous now.

“Relax or you’ll give yourself a higher temperature. I don’t know how you got it but you did. Now calm down eat your food and get some sleep. Besides with you asleep and quiet I’ll be able to work faster on the floors and door that needs fixing.”



Listening to Terra I ate my food and soon after in seeing the food gone she packed up the tray and marched out of the room leaving me to fall into a fit full sleep.
