Preface
The cool clear water was slowly swirling round my anckles, and felt so good. There is nothing better than being by the river fishing on a hot Oklahoma day. Today I was being lazy and had just drug a foldout camo chair into the waters edge under the shade of a huge oak that had already started to turn a beautiful shade of orangy-red. I could just sit there directly in the water. I hadn't caught anything yet but that didn't bother me. I always felt amazing when I was outside and just seemed connected to the earth. Surrounded by the haunting old tress and greenery as far as the eye could see, I had almost started a hypnic state when I heard rustling in the shubbery directly across the river from me. I wasn't ever afraid when I was outside but the site that emerged made me catch my breath. Staring straight at me was an unaturally large black bear! At first I thought I was seeing things but I knew I couldn't be bc I am never wrong. It had bright blue eyes like the summer sky which seemed oddly outta place. I had never heard of or seen a bear with blue eyes. And then just as fast as it appeared it vanished back into the shaded forrest. I finally began to inhale again and in the process of standing up I looked over into the same bear-infested clearing only to see something I wasn't expecting. It was a young, handsome native American teenager. He was wearing green flower-printed swimming trunks, his muscles glistening in the sun: he was perfect-looking. But the moment his eyes pierced mine, my breath caught in my chest and I nearly fell backwards in my chair...
