We wander about in life
Caught between the rose and the knife
Between all the hopes of past lives
And all the cares that cause us to take a dive.
The cross we bear we build for ourselves
The nails are the hopes and dreams we shelve
We become that which we hate
As others belittle and berate us
And we pay them heed in thought and deed
If you hear my words, let them be to you as seeds
If you comprehend my words, protect the flower but pluck the weed
If you feel the weight of my words, carry them in your heart like gems
If not, carry on, worry not and pray you be spared the pain of my dismay

Of the pain you carry, the sadness that has come your way

Why must we endure, why do things happen this way
