Lost within an emotionless tide
Taking pain with every stride
Dead inside an empty shell
Secrets held tight that I'll never tell
Searching for a life to which hold
Not caring for anything I'm told
Warm to the touch with an iced heart
Dreading an ice pick to tear it apart
For my emotional cup ready to break
Place a smile on my face for it's happiness I fake
The tides like clockwork go in and out
While inside I give an ear piercing shout
Never again will I let another in
Just to watch life repeat itself again
Turn my back on love is the promise I made
Yet over time this memory seems to fade
Too many wrongs to make everything right
I've abandoned all hope yet I still fight
Left confused yet I know where I'm headed
Life starts over again, my demise I've again bedded.
