Tornado season(s) SUCK....

I am definitely on the struggle bus today. After the tornado ripped half of my neighborhood apart and spending most of the day with two people, a greyhound, and an ocicat crammed into a closet, all I want to do is stay in bed.
Sometime in the middle of the night, power was restored. For that I am grateful. I am also grateful that there do not appear to have been any serious injuries in our neighborhood that we know of. We were super fortunate. We only have downed trees and a broken window upstairs. We heard it break and were able to use some heavy-duty trash bags to keep the rain from causing damage to the attic rooms. The house two doors down from us is nothing but a pile of rubble. I will post some pictures later as we survey the neighborhood and help others clean up. It is going to be a long day.
As far as I have heard which was about 10 p.m. last evening, 5 people died in Alabama yesterday from the storms. It may be more this morning. I cannot bring myself to turn on the news again.
I despise tornado season(s).

I am currently trying to find a way to amuse and distract a dog who I know needs to poop, who is keenly aware that he needs to poop, but turns into a giant Greyhound boulder every time I drag him to the door because of the deluge outside. Do you have any idea how muscular and strong a Greyhound is? Even a retired one? A determined, single-minded, inexorable slab of sinewy fur.
At least he did pee. He is currently in his house happily munching on a Bully Stick, but for how long? He can tear through one of those in 10 minutes. Oh, this is not going to be a fun day. Poor Twizzler. Poor Wendy.

Our creek flooded the back yard a bit,but other than that we are good. Yesterday was indeed rough. Glad you made it through.
