Is it all a mistake,
the roles we're dying to fake.
To slip the burdens they hold,
tolled downhill onto our plates
Told us it's all for our sake,
our morals just to forsake.
The price of wanting a place
within their circles just to feel safe.
They play the roles of our saints,
to our hearts driving a stake,
to replace our morality with the choices they want us to make.

Why must we submit
just to forget.
Give up control for a role of crabs in a bucket.
Just to be eager to please
while starving down on our knees,
putting our trust in a power that don't even like how we breathe.
