Can't believe I've forgotten to write this entry! I had a wonderful time, meeting great people and seeing a couple of others that I've met before.



Nice hotel, great spot in the French Quarter.. just wish more people attended; but had quality in who was there.



Great to say hi again to Cancer, DarknessBound and Birra and to meet all the other wonderful people there.



Jaime and her family were wonderful to me, and we spent time Friday night talking and they included me in the cemetary visit on Saturday and some shopping in the French Market area off Decauter...we had a wonderful day then back to relax and get ready for Saturday night.



Friday night was a fun sojourn onto Bourbon Street and down to The Dungeon for drinks and goth atmosphere... nice place, bit dark and crowded and bummer we couldn't take pics of the skull wall!



Reminder to self - no 4 inch heels and short velvet dress on Bourbon St :P



Had new lace up shoes on, and for some strange reason, lost one of them carrying it from the dinner room up to Crying Mist's room to help her lace up.... it was so strange! We all looked, kept asking the front desk - just as if some being decided to snag it and annoy me.. .I really liked those too!



Saturday night was fun and afterwards all changed and heading down to Bourbon Street to the Lafayette Bar - the oldest standing building down there and had the oldest recorded mixed drink.



Had a nice visit from a friend from Baton Rouge who's getting his Ph.D next month in genetics/microbiology and had a nice chat with DarknessBound and Images/Heidi.. he fit in well with the group and we had a fun sojourn down Bourbon St until the bar and sat in the patio for awhile having some drinks and suffering in the humidity..



Did I mention the humidity was a killer? Not much hotter than here in So Calif, but the humidity - omg!!



Sunday and Monday was my friend and I running around and sightseeing. Monday morning was beignets at Cafe du Monde, peek at the mighty Mississippi, wandered around Jackson Square, and then made a phone call to a realitor to view some 'condos' in the Quarter. It was fun to view places for sale around the Quarter, just for grins and giggles - except how high the prices have been jacked up - they're worse than here in So Cal!



Had a nice tour of the garden district and river walk district and good ole southern BBQ before heading to the airport around 5ish and my flight was out at 8pm... when I was checking my bag, was told they were putting me on the next flight out an hour later because I was flying into Houston, and we had been experiencing the tropical storm for two days already in NO... so off I went early to Houston... and sat there 2 1/2 hours for my regular flight, watching the clouds, wind and rain hit the airport. I was the second to last flight allowed into Houston for over 24 hours, so a good thing they got me on that earlier flight!



Crystal, Z, Crying Mist, Images, all of you are wonderful and so happy to have had the time to spend with all of you!



2009 I'll make the gothic cruise and I'm down for 2009 VR meet up :)
