eyes flutter open slowly as the day light softly caresses my face. extending my limbs pointing them outwards as my body stretches adjusting itself to a new day. Long flowing strawberry blonde hair whips across my shoulders as I get up and look around. Not yet awake my mind begins to wonder thinking of the day ahead.
Stepping out of bed I look around; slip outside to have my morning cigarette as i take a deep breath in filling my lungs with natures abundance before sparking it up. Inhaling and exhaling the stick quickly before the frost settles on my skin. Taking on final look around the perimeter before entering the house to get ready for my day.
Padding across the warm floor I rush to put on the clothes, shoes and one final thing... my mask.
I have come to realize that in this life one must have a mask or they'll be eaten alive by the masses.
In order to survive work you must put on your workers mask; you know the one... a smile to grit and bare anything that may come just to keep that precious job that pays for all the amenities that get you by in this world.
In order to deal with family you must put on that sentimental mask the one that allows you to show sweet, loving feelings towards the blood sucking fiends that take every last drop of energy you have with in your system.
Finally when you've come home to your friends, and your loved one if you should have one. you attempt to pull that mask off but some how fragments remain. each day you put the mask on you lose tiny bits of yourself to please the masses.
This world was not meant for the likes of us... or was it us who are not meant for the likes of them... So lost are the sheep that need to be gathered. But the Shepard has fled gone to greener pastures as we get left behind to fend for ourselves.
No need to fret you look around finding tiny things to fill your time... and existence that you know is bound to end at some point. So you grin and bare it, every morning putting that mask on, every night taking it off as it takes some of your soul away with it.
The masquerade is no longer and elegant ball but it is the energy sucking thing that we call life.

We all were a mask but, some show the world our true one and it fears the masses and get hunted down like wild creatures all because we see or view things in a different manner of speaking. I can relate too this very much so and its that I value this and the words itself hold a secret too why we choose to where these many faces out in the world. Very powerful and strong and moving Beautiful piece indeed Bravo!
