Aye u.u At the age of 32, it's really unfortunate being disappointed in "friends" or feeling used for my kindness :/

When I mentioned to a friend recently regarding a family tragedy, I noticed he kind of "ignored it" or acted like he didn't care. But as soon as he tells me his cat was sick at the vet, whenever I could I would respond and tell him I really hope she's ok. He was updating me throughout the day, etc.

As a friend I'm always there for people, but when something happens they kinda disappear on my end.... 😅 Got it 👍

I try not to take it personally, but I definitely notice and keep it in mind...

Nothing super major to bring up. But I'm just going to keep certain people at a distance and be more of a "seasonal friend" from now on.
"Hey I'm good thanks, take care ttyl" kinda vibe from now on.

I need to quit being a "people pleaser" and going out of my way to be there for people when in reality, I usually got through all my hardships alone. I kinda notice things... When my cat died last year, a few people I told not even an "I'm sorry to hear that" just a "Oh. I've had pets for too. Sucks. ANYWAY- do you think you can help me with.... XYZ?"
The boyfriend I had at the time, he didn't even care. I hadn't told him, I remember he called and it was the day Momo died in my bathtub, and he asked why we were crying and I said my cat died and I remember all I got was an "Oh I'm sorry Hun. Listen I'm working late so I'll call you tomorrow. Bye "
Or when my daughter got sick My family said "She's too little to get surgery. " And that was it... 😅 No "Oh let us know what happens, or hope she's ok" It's ok. But I also noticed I'm the 1st person people call when something happens and they need to talk, like relationship problems. Or something major happens. And I'm like "Hey I'll be there after work." .... I basically realized I need to start putting myself 1st and quit giving the shirt off my back to others. When they won't even offer an umbrella in the rain. (Sigh)

I try to hard to be a "good person" I guess 😅
