“Is getting fat was what he pursued?”, “Because the easiest way to store physical energy is, via the fat cells enlarging, and one’s body becoming bulkier. Energy follows the path of least resistance, similarly to water, from a high concentration to a low one, a Yang - high energy - turning into a Yin - low energy - and vice versa.“
“There must be a safer and more effective way than that!”, he thought to himself. And then a realization dawned on him: “the Chinese Energy Manipulation Arts, amongst them Chi Kong, help a person develop muscle strength, which is another way of storing physical energy.”
“Another alternative,” he thought of, was Astral Energy, aka Emotional Energy. “This is the same form of energy we create, sleeping and in trance states.“
“But, again,” he straightened himself, and continued, with a focused stare at one point on the wall, “ Too risky!”. “The hazard, which stems from potential emotional imbalance, is too great.”
“There is a reason why animals are generally healthier than people, at least mentally. They mostly operate on instinct and simple emotions. They are not stuck in the Past or ruminate endlessly about the Future, as some humans do”
“Walking down the path of least resistance, while still incorporating energetic practices, together with physical ones, seemed like the best bet to him”, he proceeded thinking long and hard.

“What are the tools of the trade of the awakened one?”, he quietly thought to himself. “Thoughts set the direction, emotions give the engine for motion, actions accelerate the progress and their consequence is the recoil he experienced, when the pedal was put to the metal”, he pondered, while continuing his train of thought.
“Can energy really be drawn from his environment and can it truly be done ethically?”, he wondered to himself. “In Nature, as well as in the human world, imbalance creates force, and force creates change. Change in turn is resisted by inertia.”
“So, how was he to reduce the drag working on his energy-body?”. “First, he thought, that the right path to walk on, was reducing drag into its atomic part: mass, meaning the size of one’s goals or the amount of energy to be drawn. The larger the mass, the bigger the inertia.” Then he kept wondering, “is reducing the resistance is really the right way to move forward? maybe, instead, maximizing force, meaning the speed of the flow of energy, was best.”
“Energy, like water, tends to run, from a high concentration to a lower one, like a waterfall”.
“Can a significant imbalance of psychic energy, be realistically and safely created within his physical vessel?” He questioned.
“No, it does not make sense. Psychic energy, being similar to electricity, is dangerous and should be handled with care. Physical, corporeal energy, on the other hand seemed, as a better candidate to him.”

Mostly shadows dancing down the corridor, he was walking. Mind was racing at the speed of sound, or did it break the sound barrier already?
He was staring through the looking glass, the thought in his mind, looping: “how did I arrive at this crucial juncture, I am currently at?”
“Is awakening truly what I am after?!”, “or instead am I tranquil to keep slumbering away, as most of the others do??”, “Is the knowledge and the realizations, which come with it, truly worth the heavy stares and confused expressions of those he instinctively considered his peers?!”.
Each step he took, weighed him down more and more, and he began to doubt his choices: “am I really sane? Could I be delusional??”. So, he clenched his fist, raised it, swiftly lowered it, and resolved to treat his station, as a math proof: “assume insanity and prove, that you must arrive at a contradiction!”
People, who have lost touch with reality, and people, who have awakened to the “Greater Reality” have to have some attributes in common, but other crucial ones apart. A human-being, who fails to perform everyday chores and to effectively interact with his environment, must have lost touch with it.
On the other hand, “an awakened one” can and should wear the mask of civilization to appear, as others appear, a regular, run-of-the-mill, average Joe, in polite society. He steadied himself, straightened his hat ,and took a deep breath: “one can live two lives: a covert spiritual one and an overt material one, and no man is an island“.
