I am getting nowhere. Everywhere I look there is nothing. It seems I have forgotten a crucial part to my quest: the location of the sword. Try as I might I cannot seem to recall where it is. Did I even read it? Did I really get that far. People who live in this area would not be able to tell me...unless I find a scholar. Perhaps there is someone who knows the legend. That could help. More than they will know.
It happened. Finally one of the elements got to the book. Just as I suspected, fire burned it. I don't know how, probably because I left it in the heat. I had a few pages left, but I guess I start my search now. I only hope those last few page weren't too important.
I have almost completed this book. The elements seem to be of great power and are not easily slain. The book speaks of a tool that can aid me in this fight. I did not think this tool was real, only a story. It is the legendary Chaos Blade. Of course, every legend has tests. I must finish the book before a go on my search.
I have gotten through the first few pages. Nothing of interest yet. Just some things on how to release them. I don't need that, I need how to get rid of them.
More startling news, my house is gone. I was out by the cliffs, reading the book, and when I came back, it was gone. I have a feeling it may be underground. My house, a victim for Earth. Oh well, nowhere is safe now. I'll get a new house when this is all over.
I have found, by chance, a book. This book may help in taking out the elements. It is in an old language, but I will decipher it. This may be the only hope to stop them. I can only read during the day with the sun. Any other time Fire could get to me or the book. This could take a while. I hope the world can last.
I was walking through town today. Strange things are happening. People are lying in puddles of water, charres areas riddle the ground, cracks appear suddenly in the earth, and people are jumping from houses and cliffsides. It seems the elements have started their dirty work. Rumors are going around, talking of witches and evil magic. I hope it doesn't go as far as blaming me.
I made it home safely. With those element creatures loose, who knows where they'll be. As a reminder of why I should be careful.
Fire: At any given moment a blaze can start. Those flames that always seem to be reaching for you really are now. As a matter of fact they jump if they have to.
Water: A puddle of rain water, harmless right? Wrong. It is all this element needs to drown you.
Air: The very oxygen you are breathing can lead you to believe things that are true. Can you fly? You might end up trying.
Earth: The ground we stand and can shake and open at any moment. The jaws of the world will swallow you whole.
Although these seem like unfair odds, there is one advantage. These elemental creatures don't like to work together. I may have to use that.
Behind that door was a small piece of paper. It said:
Congratulations. You have stopped an apochalypse. However, now the elements of the world have turned against you.
Great. The four elements: water, fire, earth, and air. Each and every day there are a million ways to die. Now there are a million more.
I think I have found my destination. After wandering though what seemed an eternity of stairs, halls, and doors, I have come to a different kind of door. It has writing on it. It says:
To save the world from certain destruction, open this door and unleash an even more destructive force upon the earth.
This is most desturbing. The "more destructive force" could still end up ending all life. But posibillity is better than certainty. Here goes.
